163 | God Punished New Orleans with Katrina | Bible general Archive 4 | azurelaw | 209412
Dear Jack, With reference to the source cited, I urge you to stay away from the teaching of Kim Clement, a false prophet. He has been reported as a kind of fortune teller putting on the cloak of Christianity. In both OT (Deut 18:20-22) and NT (Mat 7:15, 24:11, 24:24, 2 Peter 2:1, 1 John 4:1, Jude 1:10-13) it has been warning us about false prophets. Read Deut 18:20-22 which talks about the strict identification and judgment on false prophet - put to death. All prophecies must be inline with scriptures. Just google on the web, you will easily find a number of comments and concern on the teaching of this notorious false prophet Kim. Please avail yourself with sound biblical teachings and always compare what you have been taught according to scripture based on the context not on a single verse or two. 2 Tim 3:16-17 2 Tim 2:15 Should you need any help in your study of the Holy Word, please ask and we will be glad to be of help. Shalom Azure |

165 | how can we minister to homosexuals | Bible general Archive 4 | azurelaw | 209517
May I jam in here brother Jeff and Doc? The original question is: "how can we minister to homosexuals rather than tellin them they are going to hell or avoidin the issue i hop im clear ." The question doesn't state if the homosexuals are professed to be converted christian or homo unbelievers. If both of you understand the question differently, then your argument will be rooted differently. What I see from the discussion, it seems to me that: Jeff interprets the question as "ministering to the unbelieving homosexuals." Thus I think his point of not judging the enternal condition is sound based. Of course we can discern and be sure that according to their (the unbelieving homo) current/present status, they should have no place in the Kingdom of God. Doc could have interpret the question as "minister to the so-call to be professed believers who are still engaged in homo". Their status is not an evidence of their repentance in concern with the saving faith. Therefore, we can tell they ARE/WERE not saved. This is sound as a true believer is a new creation. All in all, be they unbelieving homo or professed believers of homo, I think we must tell them what their end result will be without repenting (i.e. the wrath of God) based on their current/present situation. (Ezek 3:17-18) Do I understand you both correctly or just rambling aournd? Hope my little input does not complicate the matter. Shalom Azure |

168 | betrayed by a friend | Bible general Archive 4 | azurelaw | 210197
Dear bless--, In echo with brother Jeff's reply, please also read Eph 4:30-32 and meditate on the Lord's prayer especially 'And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors...' Matt 6:12. Don't focus on what you have lost or how your friend wrong you, but think about his weakness and loss of integrity. Jesus always has compassion on us. "He felt compassion for them because they were like sheep without a shepherd;..." (Mark 6:34). The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. (Ps 103:8) You may not entrust in him/her anymore, but you are commanded to forgive and to love (Luk 10:27). Be blessed as it is your username and be other's blessing as well. Shalom Azure |

169 | I need blessing | Bible general Archive 4 | azurelaw | 210458
Dear zoom, Is your dream in line with God's will for bringing Him glory? Jesus told us to first seek His kingdom and righteousness, for He knows our needs before we ask. Please be thankful to our God for everything (be it good or bad in our own eyes). You are so much blessed already that you have the chance to know our gracious Lord. Perhaps you may first start with Psalm. Ps 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! Ps 34:9 O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want. Ps 1:1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! Ps 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. Ps 1:3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. Ps 1:4 The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind drives away. Ps 1:5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. Ps 1:6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked will perish. Col 3:2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. Col 3:3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Shalom Azure |

170 | does satan know what is said in tongues | Bible general Archive 4 | azurelaw | 210666
Dear corrective, You say: I doubt that satan himself spends much time following just ANY Christian around; and would probably focus on those higher up in authority in the Church, and on those who do the most Spiritual warfare. Please give scriptural support to your above notion. Thank you. Shalom Azure |

176 | SEAERCHING FOR THE TRUTH | Bible general Archive 4 | azurelaw | 211006
Dear Robert, Although scriptures do not explicitly say when, by whom and why is hell created, I believe the below citation from C.S. Lewis’ and Tim Keller’s (his echo with the thought of Lewis’) should worth us ponder. “Christianity asserts that every individual human being is going to live for ever, and this must be either true or false. Now there are a good many things which would not be worth bothering about if I were going to live only seventy years, but which I had better bother about very seriously if I am going to live for ever. Perhaps my bad temper or my jealousy are gradually getting worse – so gradually that the increase in seventy years will not be very noticeable. But it might be absolute hell in a million years: in fact, if Christianity is true, Hell is the precisely correct technical term for what it would be. And immortality makes this other difference, which, by the by, has a connection with the difference between totalitarianism and democracy. If individuals live only seventy years, then a state, or a nation, or a civilization, which may last for a thousand years, is more important than an individual. But if Christianity is true, then the individual is not only more important but incomparably more important, for he is ever-lasting and the life of a state or a civilization, compared with his, is only a moment.” --- C.S. Lewis (Mere Christianity) ******* C. S. Lewis's depictions of hell are important for postmodern people. In The Great Divorce, Lewis describes a busload of people from hell who come to the outskirts of heaven. There they are urged to leave behind the sins that have trapped them in hell. The descriptions Lewis makes of people in hell are so striking because we recognize the denial and self-delusion of substance addictions. When addicted to alcohol, we are miserable, but we blame others and pity ourselves; we do not take responsibility for our behavior nor see the roots of our problem. Lewis writes, "Hell … begins with a grumbling mood, and yourself still distinct from it: perhaps even criticizing it…. You can repent and come out of it again. But there may come a day when you can do that no longer. Then there will be no you left to criticize the mood or even enjoy it, but just the grumble itself going on forever like a machine." --- Tim Keller (Preaching Hell in a Tolerant Age - Brimstone for the broad-minded) Source: http://www.dbu.edu/jeanhumphreys/DeathDying/preachinghell.htm ***** Shalom Azure |
