43 | How many, where are Beatitudes? | Matt 5:3 | Renovate Me | 115708
Thank you Tim, What I was referring to was a statement that a respected minister made while I had my head under the hood of his car today. (I was ministering to an oil leak.) I am aware that there are Beatitudes found in Luke, but I was told that there are also (The complete number of)7 Beatitudes in the Book of Revelation. has anyone heard of this? Tim, your other comment also interests me. you say Ten? In Matthew I count 8, (verses 3 thru 10) and then in 5:11 there is an application of the former verse, thought to be spoken to the disciples, because of the change in the pronoun used. What do you think? |

45 | knowing forgiveness to others | Matt 6:12 | Renovate Me | 110896
I have a great need to forgive my ex-wife and close family members. How can I know that I am complete in my forgiveness? I brought my ex thru immersion baptism since our divorce, yet I cannot forget the relationship with my daughter that she denied me when she broke her vows. I work for my brother, a born again believer, yet he consistently persecutes me for my pre-Christian behavior and I am unable to forget the psychological damage that I have lived with in my past that led to alcoholism, depression and serious drug abuse. I feel deficient in my prayer life and feel the Holy Spirit does not hear me because I possibly am not letting go of my anger even though I do not feel mad since my dedication to Christ Thank you for your response |

48 | Is flesh existing in heaven now? | Luke 24:39 | Renovate Me | 109114
My long-saved brother-in-law and I, a over-zealous new-believer had a conversation where he told me that since Christ was man, and rose from the dead, and that now since Christ is in heaven, there exists man, with flesh and blood in heaven. This concerns me, since I disagree. Please help.
49 | Is flesh existing in heaven now? | Luke 24:39 | Renovate Me | 109141
Thank you, Kalos and momma for your excellent replies. Yes, verses 24:42-43 fortify the belief that Christ was actual flesh after he had arisen. "42And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. 43And he took [it], and did eat before them."(KJV) However my thought was that after His ascension into the clouds, there was no longer use for this fleshly burden and Jesus is in heaven in His resurrected body, or his Spirit, but I find it hard to think He is living in flesh in heaven. Is there anything to that? Bless you and thanks. |

50 | who can explain to me? | John 1:1 | Renovate Me | 120284
Hi Rowdy, Yes you say correctly, for no one does have all the answers, and I would steer away from anyone who feels they do. I just caught your post about the concept of the Trinity, and I thought I'd share something I heard the other day. We all are aware that God is Love, right? well that proves existance of the Trinity I am told, because love cannot exist without an object, right? So, there is the spirit of love, the one that loves, and the one that is loved. hence three in one. Also, man was created in God's image, right? That is to say that man is three in one as well. We are comprised of body, soul, and spirit. But you are right. We will not know completely until that which is perfect comes to us. Only then will we know as we are now known. Until then, we can only peer through a soiled window, and catch glimpses of what will be (see the second half of the "Love Chapter" 1Cor 13) In His awesome Love, me |

51 | a certain church we have to join | John 14:6 | Renovate Me | 116237
nae-nae 04, There is only one religion, (teaches the Bible that we all know and love) of which there are hundreds of denominations. The religion is Christianity, which by definition is made up of followers of Christ, or Christ's men. This is the only religion where the leader volunteers His life for the sins of His followers, so they may be saved from eternal damnation. One of my favorite passages is, 2Corinthians 5:20-21 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Does that answer your question? God Bless you, Me |

52 | Was the holy spirit in Adam? | John 20:22 | Renovate Me | 116845
Biffbt, In Jn 20:22, above, I personally, take that to mean a "symbolic conveyance" of the Power of the Holy Spirit unto the apostles. There were other instances of the apostles being "filled with the Spirit," (Acts 2:4) an act that is repeated elsewhere, so this means that this filling is not a permanent infusion. As for breathing life into Adam, We must consider the wording of the text. Whereas other creatures were 'Formed' Adam was 'Created', still, out of the clay of the earth. The spirit of man, however did not come from the earth, but from heaven above, from the One who created Adam in His Image. This is not saying that the Holy Spirit was breathed into Adam's nostrils, but the spirit of Adam, the soul of man. In His service, Me |

53 | how many were gathered in the upper room | Acts 1:14 | Renovate Me | 109581
The total, including the brethren, was approx. 120, according to verse 15. NASB Act 1:13 When they had entered (the city,) they went up to the upper room where they were staying; that is, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James (the son) of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas (the) (son) of James. Act 1:14 These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with (the) women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. Act 1:15 At this time Peter stood up in the midst of the brethren (a gathering of about one hundred and twenty persons was there together), and said, |

54 | verse says no longer bound by old test? | Rom 8:1 | Renovate Me | 112124
The OT laws were not canceled by the NT, but perfected in the first coming of Christ. Jesus summed up ten commandments for us into two great commandments.(Mat 22:37-40) It would be impossible to break either of Jesus' two commandments without violating at least one of the original ten, and versa-vise.
55 | looking for scripture | Rom 12:1 | Renovate Me | 114811
Hi JR8, I feel for you bro, this is a tough spot. One thing to remember is that the Holy Spirit is the only one capable of changing your wife's heart, and Prayer Does Work! You say your wife attends church, but is she a Christian? Being in a church on Sunday does not make you a Christian any more than being in a garage makes you an automobile (o: I am hoping and praying your wife will come to know Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior, but the choice has to be hers. She must base all her decisions on God's Word, not what she or her girlfriends convince her what is more fun. Then she will no longer crave the things of this world. You are the child of the one you obey. If you follow the Holy Spirit, then you are a child of God, but if you follow distilled spirits (alcohol) and nightlife (darkness) then you are a child of the world. Your wife needs forgiveness, which she already has through Jesus, but she needs your forgiveness, which takes a lot of love on your part to offer and on her part to accept. You can start by telling her that life is like a race, with a trophy at the end for all who finish, as in a marathon. Now, who would want to run a marathon race wearing lead filled shoes and carrying iron weights? This is how she is running, while trying to go out at night with friends that have different primary objectives than she has. Her friend's objectives will most likely be to find a mate, whether permanent or temporary, but, let's not get into that. Just inform her in your most loving fashion that you want her to keep her eyes on the prize, because that is what you are doing and you want to remain a loving couple, not letting this tavern thing drive a wedge between your relationship God Bless you and her. Here is some additional important verses to go with the one above. Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will. Hebrews 12:1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. |

56 | Thanks but let me explain better | Rom 12:1 | Renovate Me | 114833
Hi, I believe you already are holding much of the answer in your hand, that is trust. Another important part is to keep the lines of communication open. While it is not so bad in itself for her to go out with friends, there is still a danger in the places they may decide to go and what the chain reaction of their decisions will lead them to. Do you get a picture here in your mind's eye? There may be one of the crowd that wants to reach the next level of excitement, and she will entice the others. The devil is the master of deception, is your wife up to the task? I am not saying she should not go out with the girls, for you say they are decent girls. I believe this, and am glad for it. Then, she should relate to them, and be a light that shines in the darkness to the unsaved among them. We as Christians are unable to bring our friends to Christ, that is the job of the Holy Spirit. Our job is to bring Christ to our friends. Jesus said we are to be salt and light. (If you want me to clarify that verse for you I will be more than happy to.) But we are told not to hide our light under a bushel, so how can your wife bring the love of Christ to her non-Christian friends if they do not build up an association with each other? She must be strong in her faith if she will attempt to accomplish this in dangerous or questionable surroundings. Again, this strength cannot come from ourselves, but only the Holy Spirit can build us up, so prayer, again is key. Remember to trust your wife and not smother her with the domestic life, but talk to her each time she does go out. Let her know that in this scenario you may struggle, but you love her so you trust her. Stand your ground, yes. But make it a firm ground that has a solid foundation, Jesus, the Rock of our salvation. This way you will let her go out, but you both need to come to an agreement, a compromise that will place a limit on this entertainment to the point where it will not place an unbearable burden on either of you. Yours in Christ. Me |

58 | must be saved to break bread? | 1 Cor 11:28 | Renovate Me | 112105
Could I have some input on receiving communion? A Non-Mainstream Protestant Church invites all visitors to freely partake in the breaking of bread. A Evangelical Baptist Church suggests that if you have not accepted Christ as your Lord, maybe you should think about waiting before you break bread with them.

60 | can i pay my tithes to my mother? | 2 Cor 9:7 | Renovate Me | 109103
Hi Sonny, There is much debate on the issue of tithe, since it is never mentioned in the New Testament. There certainly would not be anything wrong with giving your mother whatever portion of your income you feel that you can afford, but would it be considered a valid tithe? Again, since Jesus paid the ultimate price for our redemption, what is a tithe for anymore?
