43 | Terri's Passing | Bible general Archive 2 | Praise Be To God | 147347
I just wanted to let you know that I tried to stand-in for Terri Schiavo on the eve of her death, in prayer at my church. I asked the Pastor if I could do it before the service started and he said, "We might not get to that point." All evening, the main topic of discussion by our pastor was "hunger and thirst" for Christ. I kept thinking to myself, "There is no one more hungry or more thirsty than Terri Schiavo." I was gravely disappointed that we did not pray for her. I cannot understand why we did not. I don't know what our pastor could have been thinking to be so remiss. I apologize that I was unable to carry out this request. The good news is, she's with the Lord now. I just heard Dr. Dobson's "Focus on the Family" radio program, which was today about Terri Schiavo's death, and I am feeling saddened and helpless. What now are the implications for the severely disabled all over our country? Last night at prayer meeting we prayed against the spirit of death which has been released in this country. I speak life into these United States. God is our light. Let the light of God dispel the darkness. Let God's kingdom reign in these United States! Even so, Come, Lord Jesus, Come. Janae |

44 | Terri's Passing | Bible general Archive 2 | Praise Be To God | 147510
Dear Lionheart: Thank you for your response to my note about Terri Shiavo. You said I should pray for Terri, even if no one else is praying. Well, I DID PRAY for Terri, but someone in this forum asked me to stand-in at my church for Terri and I said that I would, and when it did not happen, I was feeling disappointed. I am sure my pastor had his reasons for not honoring my request, and I do not blame him, but that did not change how I was feeling inside. Prayer changes everything. I was hoping for a miracle, like the ones that I wrote about in an earlier post. Now we must trust God and wait on Him. Janae |

45 | Why did Adam eat the apple too? | Gen 3:6 | Praise Be To God | 135601
Gen. 3:17: "And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of they life." The Word of God says it is because he hearkened unto the voice of his wife. Praise Be To God! Janae |

47 | Why didn't God create us without sin? | Gen 3:15 | Praise Be To God | 146381
You gave the right answer. Free will. God gave us free will. We are not His robots. We have the power to choose for ourselves what our destinies will be. God is righteous and holy. He cannot look upon sin. Adam's decision brought sin and death upon the entire human race, but God made a way of escape through the Blood of Jesus. How can your daughter say we are as pieces in a chess game, when we have free will? Janae |

50 | is Melchizedek Jesus | Gen 14:18 | Praise Be To God | 137114
According to the "Full Life Study Bible," Melchizedek (meaning "king of rightousness") was both "king of Salem" (possibly ancient Jerusalem) and "priest of the most high God." He served the one true God as did Abram. Melchizedek was a Canaanite, and thus, like Job, an example of a godly non-Israelite. Melchizedek is a type or figure of the royalty and eternal priesthood of Jesus Christ, i.e. Melchizedek: a type of Christ. Psalm 110:4 is fulfilled in Christ, but Melchizedek is not Christ: "The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek." Consider also Hebrews 7:1-3: "For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him. 2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace. 3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually." This does not mean that Melchisedec literally had no parents or family or that he was an angel. It simply means that the Scriptures do not record his genealogy and say nothing of his beinning and end. Therefore, he serves as a type of the eternal Christ, whose priesthood will never end (Hebrews 7:24 and 25). Because of Him, Janae. |

51 | Potiphar's Wife | Gen 36:1 | Praise Be To God | 143997
Maybe you could say how she was probably used to getting her own way. Joseph was probably not her first "conquest," but she became obsessed with him because he consistently told her "No". She was probably consumed with "self" and couldn't stand the fact that someone was telling her "No." She probably arranged for the servants to be out of the house that last time she approached Joseph. She was an evil woman, the kind of woman Proverbs warns us about. Yes, it is hard not to turn this into praise for Joseph and his godly actions. Hope this helps. Janae |

52 | Potiphar's Wife | Gen 36:1 | Praise Be To God | 144001
In fact, I just had an idea of what you could do. You could write out all the verses in Proverbs about the "strange woman," saying they describe the actions of Potiphar's wife. You could even tie it in with the wisdom verses in Proverbs, showing that describes Joseph's actions. Janae |

53 | Subject for a Christian powerpoint. | Gen 37:2 | Praise Be To God | 136867
Joseph comes to mind initially. All during his entire life, Joseph showed extreme integrity. No matter what happened to him, he would not sin against God. Joseph's life is a series of great events portrayed in scripture. There will be many examples to use for your powerpoint presentation. Hope this helps. Because of Him, Janae |

54 | cross above front door | Ex 12:13 | Praise Be To God | 160747
Only the lost would wear a cross as an amulet to ward off evil or bring good luck. I would say that a cross above the door shows all who enter, who is Lord over that household. Janae |

56 | compasionate God versus vengeful God | Lev 18:25 | Praise Be To God | 140580
Angel, I am confused by your post. Are you saying that salvation is offered to all creatures of God? Where does it say that in the Bible? It is my understanding that salvation is offered only to mankind -- he is the one who has sinned. Do you mean creatures like animals? Because if you are referring to demons, they do not receive the offer, for they are already being sent to the lake of fire for their rebellion. Please explain. Thanks. Janae. |

57 | Integrity | Num 12:7 | Praise Be To God | 131966
Who in the Bible is the greatest example of integrity? Explain why.
58 | Integrity | Num 12:7 | Praise Be To God | 131969
Hi, Angel. It's very nice to meet you. However, I disagree with your answer, and here's why. Moses did not even get to enter into the Promised Land because he did defy God! Moses even killed a man, an Egyptian. No, I think it was Joseph who showed the most integrity throughout his life. He always followed God and honored God, allowing God to lead the way through his many trials and tribulations, until he finally became the most powerful man in all of Egypt, next to Pharoah. Through all his life, he never once defied God or broke a command. My vote is for Joseph. (Although, Steve, I just saw your answer of Daniel. You are right. Daniel is a good choice, too. Actually, it would be hard to choose between Daniel and Joseph.)
