161 | jcsav, What to you mean? | Acts 9:3 | Praise Be To God | 143228
Acts 2:4 is talking about the Baptism in the Holy Spirit: "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Peter then spoke with boldness, being filled with the Holy Spirit. And he spoke the words of the Prophet Joel: "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit, and they shall prophesy." "Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Being baptized is the outward showing to the world who is our Lord and Saviour. We die with Jesus (going down into the water), and are raised up again with Him (when we rise from the water) in the newness of life. But, being baptized in water is NOT A REQUIREMENT FOR SALVATION. It is a profession of one's faith. When we are saved, WE WANT TO BE BAPTIZED, but it is not a requirement for salvation. Acts 16:31 says: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." It does not say, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be baptized and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Janae. |

165 | Damascus Road Experience | Acts 22:8 | Praise Be To God | 144812
You know, Saul was the Pharisee's Pharisee. He knew the scriptures better than any other man of his time and he took it upon himself to "help" God by ridding the nation of Christians. It was not until his Damascus Road experience where he met Jesus, that he found out he was wrong--completely wrong. A question to ask yourself is this: You know the scriptures, but do you know Jesus?
166 | Damascus Road Experience | Acts 22:8 | Praise Be To God | 144821
Yesterday our message in church was on Paul's Damascus Road Experience and we asked God to give us a Damascus Road Experience. I am sure the Holy Spirit dealt with every person present, as He did with me. Our pastor asked Jesus to reintroduce Himself to each of us, as He did when we were first saved. Yesterday at church was a wonderful, Holy Spirit-filled time in the Lord's presence. So, therefore, having this fresh in my spirit, I ask each of you to examine yourselves and make sure your relationship with Jesus is what it should be. We can always grow closer to God. There is always more of Him to know and to experience. We are to love God and love our brothers as ourselves. I hope no one took offense at my question. Love in Christ, Janae |

167 | Christians or Unsaved? | Rom 2:29 | Praise Be To God | 151675
In Paul's epistle to the Romans, is he writing to Jewish Christians in Rome, or is he writing to the unsaved? Janae |

168 | How is Jesus Lord, Savior of my Life, | Rom 8:11 | Praise Be To God | 143204
Have you asked Jesus to be Lord of your life? Have you asked Jesus to be your Saviour? When Jesus is Lord of your life, He is your Master. You obey Him no matter what. Jesus is our Saviour when we accept him into our heart and believe on Him. He saved the world from sin and death and hell. Without Him we would be lost for eternity. Our spirit is "quickened" by the Holy Spirit. See Romans 8:11 (above). The Holy Spirit tells us of God and what is God's will for us. He leads us into all truth. If you would like to accept Jesus into your life, go to "http://www.bbnradio.org" and click on "How to get to Heaven." All the best, Janae |

169 | Has the church replaced Israel? | Rom 11:25 | Praise Be To God | 139251
Dear Kalos, You have spoken well here. I believe Ezekiel 28:25-26 also illustrates your point: "Thus saith the Lord God; when I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob. And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the Lord their God." Janae. |

171 | Would actions change if? | Rom 11:25 | Praise Be To God | 139304
God does make his dwelling with us--in us--our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are going to be with God in heaven: "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." John 14:2 The thought I embrace is, Jesus could come at any moment for His Bride, so you had better be close enough to God so you can hear that trumpet! Janae. |

174 | Sanctification | Rom 12:1 | Praise Be To God | 141904
Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit. Are we sanctified through Jesus' atoning Blood, making the way for the Holy Spirit to do the work, or do we sanctify ourselves (with the help of the Holy Spirit)?
175 | Sanctification | Rom 12:1 | Praise Be To God | 141918
So who sanctifies us? Do we sanctify ourselves (with the help of the Holy Spirit), or does God sanctify us (through the guidance of the Holy Spirit)? Janae |

176 | Looking for verse on God's opinion of us | Rom 14:16 | Praise Be To God | 138431
John 12:43: "For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God," or Acts 5:29: "Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men." Maybe one of these is what you are looking for? Blessings, Janae |

177 | what does it mean to suffer loss? | 1 Cor 3:15 | Praise Be To God | 138521
Just another note on the carnal Christian. He is the one who walks in the flesh and not in the spirit. He desires the praise of men, rather than the praise of God. He is not a servant, but wants to be praised and waited on. Not a pretty sight. I don't understand how carnal Christians can be so. They surely must read the Word and know the truth. How can they act so? It is a puzzlement to me! Just a thought. Janae |

178 | God's definition of sex | 1 Cor 7:2 | Praise Be To God | 139261
Sex is a part of marriage, not the other way around. You must be married in order to have sex. I would say that, yes, you do need to perform the marriage ceremony in order to be married. Sex does not make you married in God's eyes. Being married makes you married in God's eyes. Sex outside of marriage in wrong, whether it is with one person or 1,000 persons. Janae |

179 | none believer sins covered by believer | 1 Cor 7:14 | Praise Be To God | 150595
I Cor. 7:12-15: "But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. 13And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. 15But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace." Janae |

180 | Show Respect to Almighty God | 1 Cor 13:1 | Praise Be To God | 142032
Something which is common in this forum really irritates me, and I feel I must speak out. Let's have some respect, here. Not only is it a gramatical error, but it is disrespectful to God to write His Name and His Son's Name with lower case letters! Even the Holy Spirit gets this treatment. It is simply a matter of laziness. Let's get with it, and show some respect! Janae. |
