121 | what do you do when you feel no love.... | Matt 22:37 | Praise Be To God | 136352
Dearest Amanda, You can't go by your feelings--feelings are fickle. What you can go by is God's Word. God's Word is true and everything else is subject to change--by that Word. It sounds to me like you are being oppressed--not possessed--but oppressed. It sounds to me like you need to repent and ask God to forgive you for not loving Him and others. We are commanded to love God and to love others: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." This is commanded of us by God. God gave us free will. We choose to obey his commandments. Is there something in your life which you need to confess to God? For, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:9) I advise you to seek God in prayer, repent and ask his forgiveness. God has not left you. It sounds like you have left Him. I hope this helps. Love in Christ Jesus, Janae. |

122 | Why did the Savior Dread the Cup? | Matt 26:38 | Praise Be To God | 133166
Did you see "The Passion of the Christ"? I think that shows clearly what Jesus had before Him (although it does not adequately describe his experience on the cross, for we cannot actually feel the pain he suffered). I believe that is the "cup" He was referring to; certainly He would not be referring to the act of saving the world from their sins, for that is why he was born into this world. He came willingly, to do the Father's will. But it was not an easy cup to drink. He did what no other could do. Remember, he prayed, "Nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." Here is what the commentary in my Bible ("The Full Life Study Bible") says about this: Matthew 26:39 LET THIS CUP PASS. What Christ meant by "this cup" has been the subject of much discussion. (1) It is doubtful that Christ was praying to be saved from physical death, for He had resolutely set Himself to die for the sin of mankind (Mark 10:33-34; Luke 9:51; John 12:24, 27; Heb 10:5-9). It is more probable that He was praying to be delivered from the punishment of separation from God, the ultimate penalty for sin. Christ prayed that His physical death might be accepted as full payment for the sin of sinners. However, he prayed, "nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt." He then committed Himself to undergo both physical death and spiritual separation from His heavenly Father in order to achieve our salvation (Matthew 27:46). His prayer was "heard," for He was strengthened by His Father to drink the appointed cup (see Heb. 5:7). Hope this helps. Janae. |

123 | Did God cause the tsunami | Mark | Praise Be To God | 141391
How can you say that God did not cause the tsunami? We don't know the mind of God. Many hundreds and perhaps even thousands of Christians have been martyred in those countries which have been hit by the tsunami. In fact, the aid which goes there is given to the Hindu first and the Christians get what's left over -- if there is anything left over to get. A missionary friend of mine is going to India on the 12th of January and she is taking money to the Christians over there. She says, "We must take care of our own." I know this is a different perspective than you are used to hearing on the news programs, but they do not even bring God into the equation. This is just a little food for thought. Janae. |

124 | Did God cause the tsunami | Mark | Praise Be To God | 141408
I believe God is doing something in the spiritual realm, and the tsunami is that something in the natural. |

125 | Man or man? | Mark | Praise Be To God | 141464
When He came to this earth, Jesus was fully man and He was fully God. But when He hung on the cross, He was fully man. Janae |

126 | Man or man? | Mark | Praise Be To God | 141467
Hi, BradK, Yes, that is what I was saying. He had to live a perfect sinless life as a man and go to the cross for us as a man. God cannot look at sin. When Jesus was on the cross, He took all of our sins, past, present and future, upon himself. Janae |

127 | Man or man? | Mark | Praise Be To God | 141476
Then how could God have taken all the sins of the world upon himself, if He cannot look upon sin? Janae |

128 | Man or man? | Mark | Praise Be To God | 141490
Consider Romans 8:3: "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:" We are reconciled to God through the Blood of Jesus. Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, ever interceding for us, because God cannot look upon sin. That is why Jesus said on the cross, "And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Surely you are not saying that Jesus is a liar? Janae |

130 | Man or man? | Mark | Praise Be To God | 141507
Here is where we differ. I take the Bible literally; you add your own interpretations to it. Jesus in quoting Psalm 22 was fulfilling prophecy. Janae |

131 | I don't often tell about this, but | Mark 16:17 | Praise Be To God | 144288
The Lord allowed me to see a demon. It was when I had been saved only a few years, and I joined prison ministries. I fasted and prayed before entering the prison for the first time. While everybody else was eating their lunches and having a good time, I was fasting and meditating. I asked God to show me Jesus in that prison. We were at a maximum custody prison which had a mental hospital on the grounds. The leader of the prison ministry group, a pastor, called all of us workers up to the front where he was preaching so he could introduce us to the inmates. I went forward and while I was standing there, the Holy Spirit came upon me, I can only say, like a dove, and I felt Jesus step inside my body, right through the back of my legs. I started speading in tongues, and it was hard to stop. But I did stop when a man on the other side of the room yelled over to me, "I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God." I did not know it, but it was a demon speaking to Jesus (who was inside my body). I was too young in the Lord and did not know my scripture, or I would have cast that demon out of him! Instead, I said, "Yes, it's the Holy Spirit" for I thought he was referring to my speaking in tongues. I said, "Come over here so I can pray for you." I had to coax him a second time to come over to me, and he did. When he came up to me, I looked into his face, and what I saw was a hideous demon. It was on top of his body, like it had risen to the surface and the face was horrible. The eyes were horrible and black. I still did not know what I was witnessing, and I said, "Oh, you are blind." Let me pray for you. But, he walked away. It was not until I read the scripture of Mark 1:24-26, at a later time, that I realized what had happened. This was an awesome experience, and I will never forget it. But, in answer to your question, yes, there are demons today, and they do oppress believers. Most of the time, we can't see them. But, God allowed me to have that experience, I believe because I was seeking. Janae |

132 | Holy Spirit comes to Jesus | Luke 3:22 | Praise Be To God | 150126
Matthew 3:16; Mark 1:9-10; Luke 3:21-22; and John 1:30-34. Luke 3:21-22 - "Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased." 133 | what is back sliding | Luke 6:46 | Praise Be To God | 138467
With God, you are always moving forward; there is no standing still. If you are not moving forward, you are moving back. Backsliding is neglecting God and the things of God. It can be to a point where you could lose your salvation if you are not careful.
134 | what is back sliding | Luke 6:46 | Praise Be To God | 138528
Thank you for your note, John Pilgrim. I agree with you wholeheartedly. My righteousness is but filthy rags, and I know it only too well. Backsliding is serious business. It is committing sins against God with no regard for Him or for what is right. I, myself, have recently been described by God Himself as a "backslidden daughter." God took away someone from me because my attitude toward him was not holy and righteous. I tried for 6 years to not be attracted to this person, but it seemed like I just could not overcome my feelings for him, so God removed him from my life. In fact, I was the one who had to tell him I had to give up his fellowship and friendship. I am no longer a backslidden daughter because God, in His mercy and His grace has solved the problem for me, since I could not do it myself. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. That is the truth. The Lord requires much when you are in a ministry, and aren't we ALL in a ministry of some kind, whether it be at our workplace or at school, or wherever we spend our time? I was in prison ministry and I was attracted to the prisoner who was a lot younger than me. I could not overcome it, though I tried desperately. So God told me, "No more, daughter," and took him away. Yes, backsliding is serious business. Praise Be To God! Janae |

135 | "Be about business in business" ? | Luke 12:42 | Praise Be To God | 148506
Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming, and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. This, of course, is talking about Jesus' soon return to gather His church unto Himself, but it is also good advice for a businessman, in my opinion. Janae |

Proverbs 22:29 is also a good scripture regarding business: "Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men." Janae |

140 | Free gift of God | John 3:15 | Praise Be To God | 152588
I am a member of the Assembly of God Church and have been for 13 years. I have been taught that one can lose their salvation by taking themselves out of God's hands. But, I am wondering HOW can one remove themselves from God's hands? If you can remove yourself, wouldn't that mean that salvation was of works and not grace through faith? I would appreciate all views on this--both sides. Thank you. Janae |
