Thanks for your response and may you be truly blessed by God working in your life. I don't know why the Apostle Paul wrote what he did but, no doubt, God used him as a messenger to us so that we would understand this change that signs are ceased today. You are a child of God as I am and the Cross is God's complete and full remedy for sin (Romans 5:1-2). We are complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10-11) thus we are blessed with ALL so signs have passed away.(Ephesians 1:3) God's Grace is sufficient for us who walk with Jesus. Peace and Grace in Christ Jesus, Ken John. |

42 | how can this website help in my reading. | Gen 1:1 | Ken John | 119139
Welcome and may God guide you as you pray to Him. Whatever advice and guidance you receive will never be as effective as reading Scripture as often as you can. Jesus is the LIGHT that reveals the blindness so pray and read His Word. I have learnt more from listening to the lessons from Dr Vernon J McGee than anyone else. Thru the Bible Radio website is www.ttb.org. Blessings, Ken John |

48 | During the crucifixion | Matthew | Ken John | 56185
When Jesus was betrayed by Judas in the garden of Gethsemane BEFORE His crucifiction He made a statement that He could call on "more than twelve legion of angels" to save Him. Read Matthew 26:53. So if He could do so then why not at any other time. But of course we know that Scripture must be fulfilled as you will read in verse 54. Hope that answers your question. In His Name, KJ |

49 | being baptized | Matt 3:6 | Ken John | 118296
In answer to your question about baptism in water there is confusion when we do not rightly divide Scripture. The Bible teaches that water baptism was and is a part of Israel's religion (Heb. 6:1,2; 9:10). It was for the remission of sins and was by sprinkling (Mark 1:4; Acts 2:38; Ezek. 36:25). In this age there is only ONE baptism, not two: "One Lord, one faith, ONE BAPTISM" (Eph. 4:5). This baptism is the placing of the Christian into the Church, the Body of Christ, by the Holy Spirit: "For by one SPIRIT are we all BAPTIZED INTO ONE BODY, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit" (I Cor. 12:13). This baptism takes place once for all at the time of salvation. The Apostle Paul was not sent to baptize with water: "For Christ sent me NOT TO BAPTIZE but to preach the gospel..." (I Cor. 1:17). Only a change in God's purpose would necessitate a statement like this. There is no importance attached to water baptism, today according to Scripture. In Christ. Ken John. |

50 | being baptized | Matt 3:6 | Ken John | 118422
Emmaus, I am not saying that Paul was not baptised in water as a Jew. Paul was not sent to baptise but to preach the gospel. Baptism in water is the religion of Israel and not really essential for believers today. Paul was sent as the Apostle of Grace, in which age we are now living, so our baptism is by the Holy Spirit. What was said by Jesus and His twelve disciples regarding water baptism was intended for the Nation Israel and not to believers today. Ken. |

51 | being baptized | Matt 3:6 | Ken John | 118601
Emmaus, My sincere apologies I completely misread what you had written and agree that Paul was baptized in Christ (Rom 6:3KJV)"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?" Baptism is the working of God as you have stated. Do you agree that there is no importance to water baptism in this age of Grace ? Ken. |

52 | being baptized | Matt 3:6 | Ken John | 118602
Emmaus, You may be interested in the commentary from Barnes in connection with Matthew 3:16. "Out of the water - This shows that he had descended to the river. It literally means, “he went up directly from the water.” The original does not imply that they had descended into the river, and it cannot be proved, therefore, from this passage, that his baptism was by immersion; nor can it be proved that even, if his baptism was by immersion, that therefore the same mode is binding on people now. In order to demonstrate from this passage that immersion is essential, it is necessary to demonstrate: (a) that he went into the river; (b) that, being there, he was wholly immersed; (c) that the fact that he was immersed, if he was, proves that all others must be, in order that there could be a valid baptism. Neither of these three things has ever been demonstrated from this passage, nor can they be." Reading the other verses from Scripture which you have quoted, I am unable to see the connection between the Holy Spirit and water baptism. Ken |

56 | The Transfiguration of Jesus ? | Matt 16:28 | Ken John | 109116
Hi Emmaus, Do you not believe that the humanity of Jesus was transfigured? The Transfiguration sets forth his perfect humanity. Moses represents the Law and Elijah was the representative of the prophets. In Peace, KJ
57 | The Transfiguration of Jesus ? | Matt 16:28 | Ken John | 109256
Okay maybe I need to study these verses again and clear my mind as to what I was attempting to convey about the Humanity of Jesus. Yes they met God but there is more to the Transfiguration. Maybe this is a picture of Jesus showing Peter,James and John their future; as was the case with Moses and Elijah. These disciples are today with Jesus as we will be one day. When they had come down from the mountain, they get back to lunatic earth and a lack of Faith as is evident with many of us, Matt 17:14-20. KJ
58 | The Transfiguration of Jesus ? | Matt 16:28 | Ken John | 109707
Hi Emmaus, I have studied all that you have written to me and must apologise for misunderstanding what you meant. Your answer clarified my thoughts and I wish to thank you brother for giving me a good clear answer. I find that if I ask too many questions through this forum I have quite a job keeping focused and can lose track so please excuse me. Blessings KJ
59 | Does God save children ? | Matt 18:5 | Ken John | 110632
In Matthew 18:5 Jesus is talking about children and the high value He places on them. Today there are so many children from broken homes who maybe don't know about salvation through Jesus. On the other hand there are those from good homes who don't get taught about Jesus Christ. Would these children be saved in God's Eyes? |

60 | Should We Get Married Again? | Matt 19:4 | Ken John | 55471
I am not an expert in this area of marriage but can only refer you to Matthew 19:4-12 as a guide and you will need to pray together about this as God answers prayer. From past experience of others, including my own family, who remarried after being divorced, once there is a rift it takes a lot of courage and prayer to heal the relationship. Have you considered seeking the counseling of your pastor or a Christian Counsellor ? It's really good that your husband goes to church with you. Is he a believer in Jesus and does he read God's Word? Is your relationship such that you can talk openly with him about his faith and how he feels about God and also about you and him and your futures together ? I hope my answer has helped ? You know that Jesus loves you both. Jesus bears our burdons, Ken John. |
