41 | What do you do as "saints" when you fall | 1 John 1:9 | Cyclist | 51393
Dear sufficient grace, All praise and glory and honor be to God our father! and, to Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, who thought not of Himself but sacrificed Himself for our sins! I, as well as many others, have been right where your at in your walk. Here are some steps I recomend: 1st. Believe and live by faith. Gal 3:11 Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, "THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH." 2nd. Find a true and faithful (stronger) believer. some one who walks after the spirit and not the flesh. Rom 15:1 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. 3rd. Confess your sin (fault) to them. James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. 4th. Jesus takes care of it. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I too will pray. Your brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

angelface, Cyclist here! All praise and glory and honor be to God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ who died for our sins! Praise Him forever more! Do one of these verses contain what you are searching for? (KJV) 2 Kings 8:10,11,12 10And Elisha said to him, "Go, say to him, "You shall certainly recover.' However the LORD has shown me that he will really die." 11Then he set his countenance in a stare until he was ashamed; and the man of God wept. 12And Hazael said, "Why is my lord weeping?" He answered, "Because I know the evil that you will do to the children of Israel: Their strongholds you will set on fire, and their young men you will kill with the sword; and you will dash their children, and rip open their women with child." (KJV) 2 Kings 13:14 Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, "O my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!" Dear Searcher, The Lord our God is blessed forever! I praise my God for His goodness and for His loving kindness! I praise Him for His mercy that endures forever! I hope your week went well. As promised I wanted to get back with you on the questions that you posted for me. 2. No I am not aware of this fact. Thank you for giving me this information. I pray to God that I will never be used by the enemy in estatic speech. What does "estatic" mean? 3. My interpretaion experience was like this: During a service we were singing songs to the Lord. After a particular song the entire congregation was caught up in praise to God. The praise continued for several minutes. There were many people, at least three, speaking in tounges. Then everything became very quite. I then quoted the following scripture (I had not memorized these verses prior to this): Rom 8:5 and 9 "For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you" So it was edification and not profecy. 4. Point taken. I am afraid that you will not find me very much of a challenge as an expert. You will find the very description of me in the following scripture: 1 Cor 1:26 For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; Have enjoyed this exchange with you Searcher. I am truely persuaded that you are a gift to this forum, by that I mean, someone like yourself is needed here to keep things in line with the word of God, and, to keep the enemy from fooling us. This is why I am thankful for you! Please keep up the great searching! God bless you, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear Searcher, As long as I have breath I shall praise the Lord! I will praise Him for His goodness! I will praise Him for His unconditional Love! I will praise Him for his mercies! I will praise the Lord! I am glad and praise God that these questions have been presented to me from you. Here are my answers: 1. OK 2. I did not know that and Why are you asking me? 3. Again, what is the reason for this question? 4. I do not understand this question. Would you ask it in more detail? 5. Forgive me forum, I used the word "profecying". It should have been "edification". Searcher, As I stated before, I am glad and praise God that these questions have been presented to me from you for two reasons. 1. If I have posted something that is misleading to others, or, If I have been fooled by a spirit that is not of God, I will accept correction and be wiser. 2. I don't think, in fact I know, that I have posted nothing in the past that has been worthy of your response to it. With all sincerity, THANK YOU! Finally dear Searcher, Please do the best that you can to give me proper guidance in this or any other subject where I need it. Please dear Searcher keep in mind that it is not nessecary to "put me on the ropes" to get me to accept correction. I have always prayed to God for a teachable spirit. Thanks again for posting these questions! I love you in Searcher! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

46 | Why was Cain's offering not acceptable? | Gen 4:5 | Cyclist | 47050
Greetings ploon! Welcome to the forum! Most of all though, Welcome to the family of God! I am Cyclist. With my whole heart will I bless the Lord! Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me! Bless His Holy Name! This is an excellent question. I've pondered this myself before as have many. I, however, could find no scriptural cross references for this verse. There are others on this forum that have done a lot more studying and searching than I have. Maybe they will provide a better answer. I've concluded the following: Obviously there was a long period of time between verses 2 and 3. At that time God talked directly to Adam and Eve. As you read the Bible further you will see that God instructed His people to offer up animal sacrifices to Him. I believe that God had instructed Adam and Eve and their children to bring to Him offerings of animals. I also believe that, since there was this period of time between vs 2 and 3, that Cain made offerings in accordance with God's commandments before this one. It may be that Cain thought that he could get one over on God. It may be that since Cain was a tiller of the ground that he would've had to hunt an animal for the offering and was being lazy. After all, the Word of God does say that Cain did sin. Sinning is disodeying God's commandments. Gen 4:1 - 7 are posted below. Hope this helps, only what I believe though. Please let me know if you find a better answer based on scripture. Your brother in Christ Jesus, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! Gen 4:1 Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, "I have gotten a manchild with the help of the LORD." Gen 4:2 Again, she gave birth to his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. Gen 4:3 So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the LORD of the fruit of the ground. Gen 4:4 Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and for his offering; Gen 4:5 but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell. Gen 4:6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? Gen 4:7 "If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it." |

47 | what does dead from sin really mean | NT general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 47041
Dear butterflyangel, Cyclist here! All glory and honor and praise be to God our Father and to His Son Jesus Christ who thought not of Himself but died for our sins! Praise be to God forever more! You write "do you think it is saying when we sin, we are free from it because we are saved and jesus forgives us. or that we are dead from sin because we have stopped the sin we can stop this instance....." Answer - What we think will not work, only the Word of God will provide the right answers. You also write "basically i'm trying to establish if i sin, well knowing that i'm sinning and i then feel convicted, but know i may do it again, is that directing me toward hell." Answer - Heb 10:26 For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, Heb 10:27 but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES. 1 John 2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; 1 John 2:2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world. 1 John 2:3 By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 1 John 2:4 The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 1 John 2:5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: 1 John 2:6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked. 2 Cor 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 2 Cor 10:4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 2 Cor 10:5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, butterflyangel, take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Your brother in Christ and in His love, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

48 | Who are the "sons of God?" | OT general | Cyclist | 44711
Dear n2deep, All prasie and glory and honor to God our Father and to Jesus Christ who gave Himself for our sins! Below is a posting by Makarios form 2/20/02 that contains Scripure references. It was an answer to this very same question (The tallest man in the world had a mother and a father! Even Goliath had a place of origin (Gath) and fathered offspring. In no way are the Nephilim the product of a union between fallen angels and human women. A much better question to ask is: How do you come to the conclusion that fallen angels can procreate with women since demons are described as 'evil SPIRITS' (Matthew 8:16, 12:43-45, Mark 6:7), and angels of ANY order are not given in marriage to each other or to any created thing? (Matthew 22:30, Mark 12:25, Luke 20:35) Demons (or fallen angels) can possess an individual, but they themselves cannot procreate with another individual. Also, if demons (or fallen angels) could ever procreate with women, then how do you justify such an action, since demons are the adversaries of men? (Matthew 12:45) - Makarios) In His name, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Hello Luke! Cyclist here! I will bless the LORD at all times! His praise shall continualy be in my mouth! A 73 year old preacher, who has since gone to be with the Lord, told it to me this way. "If it ends up to be as the unbeliever says and we are wrong for our belief in Christ as our Savior, we still have nothing to loose. For as we are instructed in the Word of God, we think about things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, excellent and things that are worthy of praise. We have a happy heart most all of the time! Our conduct is that of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentlness and self-control. We do not kill or steal. We do not sleep with another's spouse. We obey the laws of the land. We mean no one any harm. But if the unbelivers are wrong, they have everything to loose, even if they do, by nature, those things that are good and acceptable. For they shall perish in the lake of fire for eternity because they believed not that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world." Rev 20:10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. In the love and in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I look forward to gaining you as a new brother! Always in Christ, Cyclist |

53 | The Gospel the sole means of salvation? | Rom 1:16 | Cyclist | 39571
John Reformed, Praise the LORD for His loving kindness and His mercy! I consider it a priviledge and an honor to get on my knees before GOD, for He is kind and righteous and loving and merciful! Blessed be the LORD forever! I read the entire thread on this subject, particularly "What about those who do not hear?" and "Is hearing the Gospel the only way?" I beleive, because of examples in the scriptures, that GOD can use anything in His creation at anytime to reach any one. Did he not call to Moses by means of a burning bush? Did he not part the sea? Did he not bring water from a rock? Is the arm of the Lord too short? Did he not put flesh upon dry bones? Did he not speak to Pharoh, who did not have a relationship with God, in a dream so that Joseph could interpret it? Did he not cause a donkey to speak to Balaam? Didn't Jesus say to the pharasees that if the disciples stopped praising him that the stones would cry out? Didn't Jesus appear to Paul, who persecuted the beleivers, along the road? Will He not use any means He wants to reach all? Whether by our mouths or by some other means? His mercy endures forever! Your brother in Christ, Cyclist |

56 | Hebrews 6:6 explained | Heb 6:6 | Cyclist | 37745
lonelyblue12, Hello! Cyclist here. Praise the Lord Jesus for the price that he paid for us! A debt he did not owe! There are some good postings on this scripture verse from an earlier discussion. At the top left of this page where it reads "Questions/Notes on Verse" type in Heb 6:6 and click "Go". What this verse says to me, my opinion only, is that when some one falls away, like I did once, that no matter what any one said to me to try to bring me back into repentance it had no effect. I knew the word of God more than most of them! I had tasted of the Spirit of the Lord! I'd had a wonderful experience! But I fell away. It was only through the conviction of the Holy Spirit and His use of the Word of God that I was brought back into the family of God. For I had fallen away, no doubt about it! Because I could not serve God the way that I desired, I had always wanted to be a great pastor or teacher and have the perfect God fearing wife and children that served the Lord the way that I did, I gave up and decided to live accoring to the desires of the flesh. Thankfully, Jesus loved me, and still loves me enough to draw me toward him. But no person (Christian) could bring me back to repentance. Praise you Jesus for what you have done for me! Hope this helps. Much love in Christ! Cyclist |

Here are some scpritures for you: Matt 19:18 Then he *said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS; Matt 19:19 HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Rom 6:2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Rom 6:3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Rom 6:14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Rom 6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be! Rom 6:16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? Rom 8:10 If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Rom 8:12 So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-- Rom 8:13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Rom 8:14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Gal 5:19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, Gal 5:21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Hello Jude21-25, Praise God for all of the great things He has done! Jesus read from the book of the prophet Isaiah. Luke 4:15 And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all. Luke 4:16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read. Luke 4:17 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written, Luke 4:18 "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, Luke 4:19 TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD." Luke 4:20 And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him. Luke 4:21 And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing God Bless you! Cyclist |
