3401 | clear conscience | 1 Tim 3:2 | Searcher56 | 7254
But, some chapalins are ... I have dealt with both. As well as pastors who did not want to be corrected.
3402 | Is 'match making' Biblical? | Bible general Archive 1 | Searcher56 | 7253
Nolan ... It should say thirty-eighty (38). I have had trouble with my posts truncating. Steve
3403 | clear conscience | 1 Tim 3:2 | Searcher56 | 7203
It is verse 5, but, verse 3 begins the context. I think it is hard if we try by ourselves. As with all we do ... we need Christ. We need to study the Word and know what we do is right. It can be hard to stand up and tell the false teachers that they are wrong. We do not want to offend. Even more so if they are over you, or if you are in the military and the chapalin (who outranks you) preaches falsehood as truth. |

3404 | Did Adam die lost? | Genesis | Searcher56 | 7197
We do not know ... good parents produce evil children, like Eli. There have been bad parents who have had good sons - Josiah is one example.
3405 | clear conscience | 1 Tim 3:2 | Searcher56 | 7195
Nolan ... 1Co. 4:4 says we have a clear conscience, even if we are not innocent. Yes, we are blameless before Him. Read my posts below on this verse ... and have you had your posts truncated? Steve |

3406 | clear conscience | 1 Tim 3:2 | Searcher56 | 7194
... continuing (my post was truncated) so with the other requirements I can talk with them. Also, look at 2Co. 1:12; 2Ti. 1:3; Heb. 9:14, 10:22, 13:18 and 1Pe. 3:16, 21 on the conscience. There may be other verses. |

3407 | Goodbye, Friends | Eph 4:29 | Searcher56 | 7137
Hank ... Go in peace. May you be always at peace with God, first ... and if possible with men. Your questions made me investigate what I thought. Continue to ask questions and always be ready to give a reaon for your faith. Iron sharpens iron Searching Scripture Steve |

3408 | More on 1 Tim. 3:2 | 1 Tim 3:2 | Searcher56 | 6970
I read the Bible literally. - Paul was not the leader of a single church, so this does not apply to him. He wrote Phillipinas while in prison. Someone else was in chargge. - Jesus is married to the church If you use the OT for examples ... what day do you gather together with belivers ... do you tithe as the Teknah dictates (3 of them). BTW, it dose not say if Ezra or Nehemiah were not married. This is a minor point - I will carry one no more. |

3409 | More on 1 Tim. 3:2 | 1 Tim 3:2 | Searcher56 | 6969
This is a minor point so I will continue no more. I do not need a "single credible Bible scholar" to have my same view ... (s)he could be married with children :-). I take the Bible literally and the passages you presented support my idea. Some say one is a one-woman man, even if she dies, but, not according to these verses. Children? Very interesting. Steve |

3410 | What does 1 Tim 3:2 mean? | 1 Tim 3:2 | Searcher56 | 6925
Phillip ... While we now are off the path, Matt 5:32 ... Unchastity was limited in its application to the husband’s discovery after the wedding that his wife had not come to the marriage a virgin. Matt 19:9 ... Back up a verse - It was the hardness of their hard, but it was not always that way. So, a man can divorce his wife, if she was not a virgin before they got married, and some say after ... but, it is because of a hard heart God allows it. Therefore, I do not think it is a good reason. It is the relationship between God and Israel, as well as Christ and the church. Hosea (and Gomer) shows that God is forgiving |

3411 | Capitals? What was your question Ray? | Is 9:6 | Searcher56 | 6844
No need ... Capitialization does not change the meaning.
3412 | Will there be degrees of judgment? | Matt 11:22 | Searcher56 | 6841
He has and will destroy both the cities and the people.
3413 | Will there be degrees of judgment? | Matt 11:22 | Searcher56 | 6840
He has and will destroy cities ... "streets, buildings, sidewalks, and bridges" AND people. |
||||||
3414 | Will there be degrees of judgment? | Matt 11:22 | Searcher56 | 6825
Hank ... I am sorry for the delay, I have been out of town for over a week. Let me try again. What happened to Tyre and Sidon? Their judgment is more tolerable, in how they would be destroyed. |

3415 | Nebuchadnezzar a true believer? | Dan 2:47 | Searcher56 | 6824
Right ... I thought I cleared that up.
3416 | Nebuchadnezzar a true believer? | Dan 2:47 | Searcher56 | 6823
That is a request, we don't know what Nebuchadnezzar's response was. But, read the rest of the chapter. We do not know if he repented.
3417 | Nebuchadnezzar a true believer? | Dan 2:47 | Searcher56 | 6259
I agree. I can see where it is talking about Daniel and not Neb's gods. I get your view. Steve |
||||||
3418 | Nebuchadnezzar a true believer? | Dan 2:47 | Searcher56 | 6258
I do not trust any one translation. I like to look at the original and several transaltions, even a non-English one. Everyone could be wrong, even I can. No one has ever got it all right, except for Christ. People are saved because of translations ... around the world. Yet, when a word is forced from English as the word, instead of Greek, I've seen problems. I am done. Steve |

3419 | Nebuchadnezzar a true believer? | Dan 2:47 | Searcher56 | 6234
Ray ... I do not care what any version says. I study the Bible to see what God says. Everyone could be wrong, even me. However "whose name is Belteshazzar according to the name of my god, and in whom is a spirit of the holy gods", to me refers to his gods, Not YHWH. |
||||||
3420 | Nebuchadnezzar a true believer? | Dan 2:47 | Searcher56 | 6232
Nebuchadnezzar is the person being discussed. I do not think he had the Spirit in him. He is the one who named Daniel, Belteshazzar. Which was before he even considered God. You are correct - he never called himself Belteshazzar, but, it appears eight names in the book. Steve |
