glory777 ... The W-F teachers do teach some truth, but also stuff that is twisted. From what I understand, too much of the later. So it is wise not to listen to them. 3385 | Steve explain worship more? | John 4:24 | Searcher56 | 7819
Time is amazing. With the improvement in how fast we can get to work and elsewhere, we are spending less time with our family, much less, with God. I sent you a copy of my paper.
3386 | Sabbath-did you know? | Matt 12:1 | Searcher56 | 7806
The day of rest is not a salvation issue or even a major one. I do have answers that I am working on, in response to JVH. Nonetheless, we have linked the day of rest and gathering, when I do not see any link in the Bible. JVH did not point out any passage that covers this. |

3387 | What is worship, according to the Bible? | John 4:24 | Searcher56 | 7805
EdB, I posted what the changes are needed in my "EdB ... I do get flak for this view. ..." post. I do not see anything being done, expect a few people who have this idea talking about it and worshipping God as the Bible says. If you or anyone wants to read what I have written, ask me sbuttle@qwest.com. It is a living document, for I continue to study worship. |

3388 | Can we violate the 4th or all 10? | Col 2:16 | Searcher56 | 7749
Think about this ... out Lord kept the Sabbaths by resting. The Passover Sabbath and the weekly Sabbath. BTW where doe it say I cannot carry a flame on the Sabbath? |

3389 | What is worship, according to the Bible? | John 4:24 | Searcher56 | 7746
The answer is logic. One examle is ... In Exo. 12:31, the NAS uses worship. Then the similar phase is translated abad as serve in Exodus (4:23; 7:16; 8:1, 20; 9:1, 13; 10:3, 7, 8, 11, 24, 26). It does not make sense to translate the same word differently into English. We all need to let the Bible flow and interpet itself. |

3390 | Do you do something that are not "good"? | Ex 20:8 | Searcher56 | 7733
True ... but, does that mean we watch TV, go out to eat, a game, do chores on the Sabbath or the day we choose to keep holy?
3391 | Is there anyone else who has input? | Acts 5:34 | Searcher56 | 7713
I'll start (another) new thread on worship.
3392 | Isn't The 4th Cmdmnt Part Of Mosaic Law | Col 2:16 | Searcher56 | 7709
I am asking if the fourth commandment should be done away with? If so, why not the other nine and go after other gods. The dietary laws are sound ... why not keep a festival or a new moon ... there were three tithes ... the blood sactifices were done away with (Heb 10). |

3393 | Was Jesus actually in the tomb 3 days? | John 19:31 | Searcher56 | 7692
I think He died on Thursday. Luke 24:21 says today (Sunday) is the third day since, making it Thursday. - Day 1 Thursday day (6am-6pm) - Nite1 Thursday nite (6am-6pm) - Day 2 Friday day (6am-6pm) - Nite2 Friday nite (6am-6pm) - Day 3 Saturday day (6am-6pm) - Nite3 Saturday nite (6am-6pm) |

3394 | Sabbath. | Matt 12:1 | Searcher56 | 7684
First - the question was is there a command it the Bible stating to gather on the Sabbath or the first day of the week (this term is not in the Greek)? Second - Just because Augustine taught it does make it right. He and others have linked the Sabbath with gathering together. They also have misdefined worship. Third - I still believe we should follow all the Ten Commandments. The fourth was to keep the Sabbath holy - that is cease from work, which we should not do everyday (2Th. 3:6-15). The Hebrews passge does not fit. |

3395 | Sabbath. | Matt 12:1 | Searcher56 | 7653
You're right. The leaders have been adding to what God intended the Sabbath to be. Today, we have gone the opposite way - we do not rest and we have changed the day. Some will say they are doing good deeds to justify their actions. Cease any type of work - tasks related to your job, chores around your home, errands. Seek to become more aware of God's presence with you, and pursue encounters with Him rather than focusing on self. If you gather with others talk about Him, not your careers, children, causes and other concerns. Do not force anyone else to violate the Sabbath, by going out, being entertained and other activities. |

3398 | What is that? | Ex 16:1 | Searcher56 | 7425
You are correct - for they never saw it before
3399 | Do we play or pray? | Col 2:16 | Searcher56 | 7286
"Are the Sabbath laws binding on Christians today? " - Yes. Why is the fourth commandment the only one disgarded? "Paul explicitly refers to the Sabbath as a shadow of Christ" is not what Col. 2:16-17 says. Read it VERY carefully. This is another error by one that you follow. "There is no evidence in the Bible of anyone keeping the Sabbath before the time of Moses" ... well God did (Gen. 2:2). Where does "The apostle Paul warned the Gentiles about many different sins in his epistles, but breaking the Sabbath was never one of them."? Where does he talk about the first three commandments ... and the last five? We have been led astray - we do not rest like God commanded. No where are we told stop having a day holy where we focus on God and not out pleasures. I am done debating this with you. We will know the truth when we see the Lord. Steve I have written John - w/o any response from him. |

3400 | Can a divorced person remarry? | 1 Cor 7:15 | Searcher56 | 7256
Kandola ... While forgiven, you must bear the consequence of the divorce. We do have the right to judge. Even the context of Mat. 7, we have to know who dogs and hogs are ( I am not calling you either). Read Mat. 18 - where I see men judging. Nonetheless - the Bible is very clear that God hates divorce ... He granted divorce in the case of adultery, because of the hardness of the heart (of the "innocent" spouse). Now if you were a non-Christian at the time of divorce you may be able to remmarry. If you were a Christian and your spouse wasn't and they left you and filed for divorce, the Bible says you are free to marry another. |
