322 | CAN WOMEN WEAR PANTS TO CHURCH | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 196785
If you are in a church that has made it a policy not to wear pants to church, you will probably be uncomfortable if you do. It is offensive to some people. We can wear pants as there is no commandment that says you can't. We are not to dress like men but wear feminine clothes, pants, etc. Also not to wear them too tight or suggestive but modest apparel. Again if you have a church covenant that says don't wear them and you want to wear them, you might need to search for a different church. We are not to dress like men or act like men so the motivation for your wanting to wear the pants is something between you and God and you will need to pray about this as well as search the scriptures for your answer.

324 | living in sin(out of wedlock) ministry? | John 3:16 | Val | 196743
Take him at his word. If you are afraid it will hurt your image that would not be the reason to kick them out. Remember that you represent the church to them and if you kick them out they may never return to any church in the future. Consult the pastor of your church and let him decide. Usually what happens is if you confront them they will get mad and never come back to your class. They will talk about you. Others will take sides. Those who side with them will leave also. It could even destroy your present class. Ministry is hard, is it not? Watching others continue in sin does grieve us but we must wait for God to work in their lives and bring them to repentance. John 3:16
325 | Are woman suppose to wear pants? | Prov 31:25 | Val | 196697
Women are suppose to dress modestly. A clean heart will affect what a woman wears on the outside. Protect your heart. The inner person is what remains beautiful when age comes. The whole chapter of Proverbs 31 is excellent. Prov 31:22 She makes coverings for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple. Prov 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land. Prov 31:24 She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies belts to the tradesmen. Prov 31:25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future. |

326 | Celebrating Christmas scripturely | Luke 1:12 | Val | 196691
Its a personal decision. I love Christmas and celebrate it but I also celebrate Christ's birth every day of the year in my heart. Its a time we use to share a meal, gifts and love with our families similar to thanksgiving. As long as we celebrate in an honorable way I see nothing wrong with it. Luke 1:14 "You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at His birth. |

327 | what have I not qualified | 1 Cor 13:10 | Val | 196684
I believe we are suppose to mark our ongoing posts as notes after an initial question. Hope this helps. By the way I suggest you just let it go. Enough has been said. Prov 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger. |

328 | Why replace a wolf for a lion | Is 54:10 | Val | 196683
We would have to ask the writer of the song I guess. Since the song was widely sung, it sort of took off and other things were created like the pictures and paintings. Yes a wolf would have worked as well but for some reason, unknown to us, the writer chose a lion. I think your missing the point though. The song conveys how wonderful it will be when there is peace. We all make mistakes. This is a small one. It does not change the theme of the song or message of peace. The Lord said we are to proclaim the gospel and trust Him for the results. Trust Him. He works in people's lives to bring them the gospel. John 3:16
329 | Isa. 65:25 The wolf and the lamb | Is 54:10 | Val | 196679
In 1937 Thomas Andrew Dorsey wrote a song for Mahalia Jackson “Peace in the Valley,” which has become extremely popular. It has been recorded by Red Foley, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and has been sung in churches for decades. Oh well, I'm tired and so weary But I must go alone Till the lord comes and calls, calls me away, oh yes Well the morning's so bright And the lamp is alight And the night, night is as black as the sea, oh yes There will be peace in the valley for me, some day There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord I pray There'll be no sadness, no sorrow No trouble, trouble I see There will be peace in the valley for me, for me Well the bear will be gentle And the wolves will be tame And the lion shall lay down by the lamb, oh yes And the beasts from the wild Shall be lit by a child And I'll be changed, changed from this creature that I am, oh yes There will be peace in the valley for me, some day There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord I pray There'll be no sadness, no sorrow No trouble, trouble I see There will be peace in the valley for me, for me The theme of the song is Peace. I think the picture of peace is still there even if the lion is in the wolf's place. Is 54:10 "For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken," Says the LORD who has compassion on you. |

330 | psychics | Deut 18:11 | Val | 196676
These things are strictly forbidden in scripture. They amount to idoltry. These are things that are involved in the occult. Since we are told to stay away from these things, it is better if we do not allow them a place in our lives or in our living rooms.
331 | Book of life are the lost to be found | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 196675
Just as God sent His Son in the fullness of time, He has appointed a time for His return. I am sorry I do not understand your questions or what point you are trying to make. As I understand it once a person dies, after that the judgment. Your initial question was an assumption that they will be given another chance during the 1,000 year reign. My answer was that they will be raised for the white throne judgement. They will not be given another chance. If you see that somewhere in scripture I would be interested to see it.

333 | NASB Study Bible Help | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 196586
You can go to bookstores and watch for sales in your area and find bibles at a reduced rate. Sometimes someone will order a bible with their name on it and then decide not to purchase it. This is an excellent time to shop for bargins. The only way to make a choice is to go yourself and examine them. I would suggest the New Inductive Study Bible: NASB because it shows you how to study the bible for yourself before going to commentaries. Of course all the others are helpful after you have done your initial study. May God bless you.

335 | Knowledge of why they are in torment? | Luke | Val | 196506
It is better not to dwell on those who have already gone but rather to be about the business of praying for and proclaiming the gospel to those who are not saved. We can always look to God the Father and His Son Christ Jesus and know that their ways are right and holy. We can committ those who have gone on without professing Christ into the hands of a righteous God. Ask the Lord to give you peace about this situation. He will comfort you.
336 | Advise me please (Galatians 6:1) | John 3:16 | Val | 196505
If you feel that you are in danger go to a bible believing church and ask the pastor for counseling. Your situation is indeed very complex. The good news is that God meets us where we are. He promises to forgive us if we truly repent and believe in His death, burial and resurrection and follow Him in obedience. You must begin to pray and study the bible and heed what it says. There are consequences to sin and one must live with those but the Lord gives strength to bear up under whatever we have brought upon ourselves.
337 | agree with your view, but also wanted to | John 1:1 | Val | 196487
There is a verse that says we see through a glass dimly but when we go home we will see clearly. I admire your desire to study more in depth. There is an excellent Precept bible study on John. They have a website and excellent resources that teach you how to study just the way you have expressed interest in. They have helped me tremendously and continue to They are out of Chattaooga, TN. The most interesting fact is that you will learn to know God the Father and our Lord Christ Jesus better and better as you dig out these answers for yourself especially when we heed the word by obeying those things we learn. There are some things we will never understand until we get home. I don't really understand your last question but I will tell you this many people believe they may become gods and as the end approaches this will become more and more prevalent. It is false. The bible says God will not share His glory with anyone. I am not assuming this is what you meant. I hope you will continue in the word and prayer. May God bless you.
338 | Mmm, not really an answer to the questio | John 1:1 | Val | 196469
The point is that they are unified in what is being done. He is consistent with the will of the Father. The healings were for us to see the evidence that He was who He said He was and is; the Messiah.
339 | Biblical Prophecy Question | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 196467
The reason people don't recognize prophetic events is because of their lack of knowledge of the scriptures. One of the best examples of prophecy and its fulfullment is the book of Daniel. It gives the prophecy then the fulfillment. History backs this up. So if these things were literally fulfilled we expect that prophecy for the future will be literally fulfilled.
340 | JESUS WINS AN SO DO WE | NT general | Val | 196466
His proclamation was of His victory over death. It was not an invitation to follow Him. As we learn from other scriptures, once we die, it is too late. In the old testament the people believed there were two places for departed spirts one was a place/a chamber for those who follow God and one for those who did not. It is believed by some that the Lord took those who believed in Him to heaven with Him because this chamber was no longer needed. And that the other chamber is still there with the lost. We cannot be dogmatic about this as the scripture tells us very little about this. It is only spoken of in one verse in Ephesians.
