Rebellion against God.
342 | John 5:19 how did Jesus see what God did | John 1:1 | Val | 196463
The Lord Jesus and the Father are one. If you read the entire book of John you will see this. When we look at the Lord Jesus we are looking at God.
343 | What is Baptism in the Holy Spirit | Matt 3:11 | Val | 196408
If you read the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke or John, then read Acts you will see how the baptism of the Holy Spirit came and why. It is basically a down payment on a future blessing. We receive it when we are born again and when we go to heaven receive the full blessing.
344 | explain spiritual warfare with shield | Ephesians | Val | 196406
You would get rid of the "seed of generational curses" as you call it by living a life in obedience to Christ. The curses you speak of are a result of sin in a person's life and how it affects everyone around them. A person who forsakes sin and turns to the Lord walking in obedience to him will have the power of the Holy Spirit to enable him to overcome the sin of unbelief and disobedience. All people around this one will be blessed for his love and devotion to the Lord. The shield of faith is speaking of our faith in the Lord and His finished work on the cross. There is nothing that we can do to be saved and there is nothing we can do to be lost after we are saved. This assurance gives us hope and strength when we fail in this life. Knowing the love of Christ and how much He loves us increases our faith. In closing Knowing Christ increases our faith. I hope you will do a thorough study of Ephesians and mark every reference to Christ and faith then go back and write out every verse and see what we have "In Him". |

345 | wat dos it realy meen? | Mark 9:1 | Val | 196405
Reincarnation is not in the bible. Where did Christ go after He was resurrected? The whole story of the bible shows that our bodies will be raised one day and be joined with our spirits and we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye and we will be with the Lord forever. My suggestion would be to explain only the things you have studied and are sure of not things you have not studied. Continue to pray for your friend that he would come to a knowledge of the truth. Perhaps he will use some other christian who can explain these things to him or give you an opportunity after you have studied this topic.
346 | scriptures on smoking? | Rom 13:14 | Val | 196404
There are things that may not be sin but may be unprofitable for the christian. For instance in many scriptures the Christian journey is compared to an athlete's life. The athlete knows what it costs to be a great performer and win the prize. He watches his diet and exercise and daily habits. Since Paul compares us to athletes should we not do the same so that we may run well.
347 | Can we hear GOD? | Prov 3:6 | Val | 196403
Not knowing many aspects of your situation, it is impossible to advise someone what to do. You must pray and learn as much about the jobs as possible. Also be aware that "the woman" may expect you to be loyal to her after employment. One problem that that presents is if you are depending on her to get you the job rather than the Lord. If she can get you hired, she probably can get you fired. Pray until the Lord gives you peace about your decision.
348 | What is the reason God is speaking of ? | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 196181
The verse that you are looking for is do not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever. This is before you get married. Since you are already married it does not apply to you. You will have to do a thorough study on marriage and divorce as well as on your own motives to determine if your intentions are biblical. Begin with prayer and a personal study of God's word. Perhaps you may need to repent of trying to put away your wife. 1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; 1 John 1:7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |

349 | Was the Bible written by fortune tellers | Luke 24:1 | Val | 196180
Tell him that Satan has blinded his eyes. Relying on fortune tellers is idolatry. It is not your responsibility to make your friend believe. Your responsibility is to proclaim the gospel of Christ Jesus's death burial and resurrection and leave the rest to Him. Go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to open your friend's eyes. Luke 24:44 Now He said to them, "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled." Luke 24:45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, Luke 24:46 and He said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, Luke 24:47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. Luke 24:48 "You are witnesses of these things. |

350 | AMm I UnTeachable? | James 1:19 | Val | 196166
There could be many reasons this was said to you. It may just be a personality conflict. It sounds like you might need to back off and just listen for a while, otherwise you might want to change classes or churches. James 1:19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; |

See to the left "Show Me" and then click on each of the lines and you will see the Questions and answers. It is really quite simple. Someone else may be able to offer more help as well.
352 | A prophet | Jeremiah | Val | 196050
It really depended on the King whether to listen to God through His prophets. When we look at the kings they are listed as evil or good. God protected His prophets. The king and people at this time wanted to hear only good things and not bad things so the true prophets were probably hated by many.
353 | negative self concept | 2 Tim 2:15 | Val | 195996
There is good news for you. God can take care of any problem. First look inward to see if there is any disobedience or sinful behavior that needs to be dealt with. Proverbs 28:13 says "He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy." If you have never received Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, that would be the first step to having peace. Freedom from guilt is included in Jesus' death on the cross, but we must trust Him to cleanse us. Read and study the Bible beginning with the gospels. Begin the habit of daily prayer confessing all present sins and asking for forgiveness and cleansing. Thank God for taking away the sin and guilt. Find a Bible-teaching church and begin to go regularly where you will hear and study God's Word. I pray you will find peace. If you continue to struggle seek out a pastor of a Bible-teaching church. Ephesians 2:14 "He Himself is our peace" |

354 | Why God killed boys for teasing Elisha | 2 Kings | Val | 195951
A study of the prophet Elijah will give you great insight into what the spiritual climate was at this time. Elisha was chosen by God to be His prophet to succede Elijah. The timing was also important as it was close to this transition of prophets that this incident occurred. When the youths, as someone has already stated they were not minors as we consider children in our day and time, but they were young adults, when they began to mock Elisha they were challenging his authority and role as God's prophet. We must also consider that God sees people's hearts. This is something you and I nor any other human can see. When these young adults were mocking Elisha they were treading on thin ice. They were not only mocking Elisha but Elisha's God. They were undermining his authority as God's prophet. They brought judgment upon themselves in their attitudes and actions. Obviously it was a serious offense that brought them immediate judgment.
355 | Ecclesiastes, Matthew, NOW WHAT? | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 195805
Another suggestion is: Read the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. In them you will see the story of Christ Jesus. Then answer the question "do I believe that this Jesus is who He says He is".
356 | Phinehas and the plague | Num 25:1 | Val | 195799
Israel was told explicitly not to worship false gods/idols or to intermingle with them. Those people of Israel who disobeyed this commandment were bringing judgment upon themselves. The Lord used plagues to bring death to those who disobeyed Him. As you see in verse four, to stop this rebellion the Lord gave instructions to put to death these rebellious leaders who were leading the people astray. Phinehas was obedient to the Lord when he saw the rebellious man and woman come into the tabernacle and the action he took. Reading down in the chapter it appears this man and the woman were people of influence who were trying to trick the people of Israel showing disregard for Jehovah God, verses 16-18. Phinehas was praised by the Lord for obeying Him as you see in verses 11-13. I don't know how this works itself out but you see from verse 11 Phinehas was jealous for his God and made atonement for the sons of Israel, therefore the plague was stopped. The key word is atonement. I believe this is similar to the concept of the blood used over the doorposts when the angel of death took the firstborn back in Egypt but those who put the blood on the doorposts were covered by the blood thus they lived. 359 | Forty days and forty nights | 1 Cor 15:1 | Val | 195701
A basis procedure in bible study is to use an exhaustive concordance. Finding the word in the the concordance you will see how many times that word is used in the bible. By looking at the cross refences in their context you get an understanding of how the word is used. Hope this helps. 1 Cor 15:1 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 1 Cor 15:2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. 1 Cor 15:3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 1 Cor 15:4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 1 Cor 15:5 and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 1 Cor 15:6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; 1 Cor 15:7 then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; 1 Cor 15:8 and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also. |

Matt 4:23 Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people. We may pray for physical healing and in addition we are to seek medical help. |
