301 | what happens | Rom 6:3 | prayon | 90645
Greetings and welcome to the forum! Our God is a God of forgiveness. There is not one person who was baptized that does not sin. Jesus said that when you repent of that sin then He will remember it no more (Heb 8:12), which is kind of hard to fathom. Someone once gave me an example that helped though. Imagine that when you ask for forgiveness your sin becomes a fish in the sea, Jesus (the fisherman) comes walking along but He can not go after that sin because the sign says no fishing. Another scripture is Psa 103:12: "As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us" (NKJ) Hope this helps. prayon |

302 | Am I understanding right? | Matt 10:23 | prayon | 90644
Greetings, yes. The bible tells us that Jesus won't come until the gospel has reached everyone and I don't need to mention how much persecution the disciples went through after pentecost or how much persecution missionaries go through today taking the word to all parts of the world. prayon
303 | Please, a straight answer!!! | Is 53:5 | prayon | 90585
Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Surely He hath born our griefs - kholily means sickness and has to do with the body All sickness was taken on cross - He meets us where we are at and heals us so that we will hear Him And carried our sorrows - Makob: emotional pain; suffering and has to do with our soul. It refers to Mental suffering which deals with our mind Wounded for our transgressions - Pesha: breach of relationship and is related to the Spirit which is the real you Man / Sin relationship breached spiritually - Make Him Lord and breach restored Bruised for our iniquities - Avon: sin and has to do with the Spirit which is again the real you Past, present, and future - sin separated God; spiritual reconciliation Chastised for our peace - Shalom: peace; prosperity; wellness; safety wholeness; completeness Wholeness - about me; Completeness - fulfilling destiny - peace, et. His stripes we are healed - Rapha: healed - causative sense again has to do with the Body Healed - causes us to walk in health so we will serve Him These are 6 things that were prophesied about Jesus. It gives us the 6 areas that Jesus suffered in so that we can be healed. He did this 2000 years ago on the cross. I have been reading some of your posts and would like to recommend a book to you that I used in college. It is called Bible Faith Study Course by Kenneth Hagin. I have suffered from asthma most of my life. I could never do anything strenuous, I was never able to take PE. I remember a time when I could not walk from my car to my apartment. Not long after I took this course and went through the book I was healed. I can now run 2 miles in 25 minutes. I don't know what it will do for you - maybe nothing but it is worth a try. prayon |

304 | Where was Paradise? | Luke 23:43 | prayon | 90526
Greetings, you are correct in that Jesus did not go to Heaven at the time of His death. John 20:17 tells us the Jesus said to Mary Magdalene "Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father". Jesus told the thief "today you will be with me in paradise", so this proves that paradise is not the same as heaven. In Jewish theology the department of Hades where the blessed souls await the resurrection. Paaradise is part of Abraham's bosom. Luke tells us that the rich man who went to Hades saw Abraham and cried for Abraham to have mercy on him. Again proving that Paradise is not in heaven. prayon |

306 | Question on Matthew 10:23 | Matt 10:23 | prayon | 90520
Greetings Chusarcik, in reading the whole passage (16-23) it is clear that He can not be talking about a time whil he is still alive because until His death they were totally shielded from persecution. Jesus took all the persecution and opposition on Himself. Various commentaries interpret that this verse can either mean the time period after pentecost while others put an eschatological significance on it that it is talking about prior to and during the tribulation. The one I like the best is the International Bible Commentary that says that it is telling us that the work of carrying His gospel to the world will not be completed by either the apostles or those prior to us or by us today. prayon

308 | Matt11.2 Why did he ask this?He knew! | Matt 11:3 | prayon | 89291
Greetings Clare, The MacArthur study bible says that understandably confused in the things that were happening. He was imprisioned, and Christ was carrying on a ministry of healing instead of judgement. John had preached that those who rejected Jesus would be baptized with fire, but Jesus was carrying on a ministry of mercy and grace instead of asserting His messianic claims. He also wondered why was he still in prison. John was confused about the first and second comings of Christ. Christ understood this and sent him a message that comforted him. Isn't it great that when we get confused that Christ understands and sends us the comfort we need? prayon |

Greetings Zelos4u, Peter is writing to the pilgrims of the Dispersion in various areas. The pilgrims were strangers that were not in their own country. When Rome burned by order of the emperor Nero and because of the persecution many of the Christians fled to other lands. Because of this persecution Peter sent them a letter to encourage them. prayon |

311 | Up to what extent should I give? | Luke 6:30 | prayon | 86723
Greetings Bnbriones, I will answer the 2nd question first. When someone asks something of you the first thing you should do is take it to God and ask Him what His will is in the situation. If God tells you to give the person what he needs then do it. However, God can see the whole picture and sometimes will tell us not to help in the situation. We are to give to the needy but only when God puts it into our spirit to do so. If that person does not pay you back then that person will have to answer to God. You can not do anything about that person breaking their promise to you. If you hold onto the situation then it will turn into anger and resentment which is not of God. If God told you to give to this person then God will reward you for your obedience whether or not you were paid back or not. Give the situation over to God and let Him deal with this person. He may just convict the person's heart to honor his word. prayon |

312 | Who was Ruth? | Ruth | prayon | 86722
Greetings Drdata, Ruth was one of the 5 women mentioned in the geneology of Jesus (Matt 1:5). Ruth was the Moabite woman who married the son of Elimelech and Naomi who had left Bethlehem to settle in Moab.. When Elimelech and both his sons died Naomi decided to return to her home in Bethlehem. She told both of her sons wives to remain in Moab where their family was. Orpah returned as suggested but Ruth refused saying "Wherever you go I will go and wherever you lodge I will lodge and your people will be my people" (Ruth 1:16). Ruth went to Bethlehem with Naomi and took the initaitive to provide for her and Naomi's existence. While gleaning the fields she met Boaz a relative of Ruth's. By following her mother-in-laws advice she ended up marrying Boaz and gave birth to Obed who was the father of Jesse and the grandfather of David. Ruth is the story of redemption. It shows that God's redemptive plan extends beyond the Jews to the Gentiles. Boaz redeemed Ruth just as Jesus redeems us from being slaves to sin. prayon |

313 | Moses and the Canaan land | Num 20:12 | prayon | 77930
To add to Tim's responce I wanted to add that the people were thirsty and needed water for their animals. God told Moses to strike the rock his staff one time, however Moses was so angered at the people that he struck the rock twice directly disobeying God. As punishment God told him that he would not enter the promised land. I don't think that there was anything that Moses could of done to change this. When we disobey God He will punish us just as we punish our children when they do something wrong. We are God's children. prayon |

Greetings KingdomWalker, The number 3 means solid, real, substantial, complete and entire. 3 is the first of four perfect numbers - it denotes divine perfection. An example would be the Trinity; the Father, Son and Holy Ghost or for man the spirit, body and soul. prayon

Greetings koko, There were many ceremonial laws as well as laws as what could be eaten and what could not (see Lev 11). All of these laws were under the old covenant. We are now under the new covenant and not responsible for keeping these laws. The boiling of a young goat had to do with a ritual that the Canaanites practiced. Since God did not want the Isrealites to practice any ritual of the Canaanites He outlawed this practice to make sure that it was not copied. prayon |

318 | Is Practicing homosexual Behavior a Sin? | Rom 1:24 | prayon | 75396
Greetings footprints, The bible is the infalible word of God. It states that "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination." If the bible is truly infalible then it is an abomination (which is one of the strongest negative words used in the bible). Those who preach otherwise are calling the bible fallible. Matt 5:17 tells us that Jesus said He did not come to abolish the laws of Moses but to fulfill them. Since Leviticus is found in the first 5 books of the bible known as the Laws of Moses then Lev. 18:22 must be still in effect and therefore any homosexuality is a sin against God. prayon |
