303 | Where did Cains wife come from? | Gen 4:17 | azurelaw | 221565
Dear Ed, It is because according to the creation account recorded in Gen chapter 2, the first and only parents / human created were Adam and Eve. That means all human beings after Adam and Eve are their offsprings. And they named Cain's wife Sugar :-) Shalom Azure |

Dear bigcat, I believe the answer lies in that verse you quoted: "...Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God." Ruth confessed her faith. Isn't it what Jesus taught in Matthew chapter 10? Shalom Azure |

306 | if i think i am right, what can i do | Matt 10:35 | azurelaw | 221487
Dear Mamametal, First of all, I think it would not be appropriate to give any advice or comments to your situation as we cannot know the whole story and there is much limitation to settle case of yours under this kind of communication platform. However, concerning the scripture (about turning the other cheek) you are searching, it would be Matthew 5:39. Please rightly interepret the scripture in its context and historical background. I believe the below link is helpful for your better understanding: http://www.reformedonline.com/view/reformedonline/SermononMount19.htm Shalom Azure |

309 | Swearing on God's Name | Ex 20:7 | azurelaw | 221441
Dear Rebekeh, I believe the related verse to your situation is Exodus 20:7. Note that it is not about sin that cannot be forgiven, but he who commits the sin must be punished. So, if you repent of your sin and turn away from it, God will forgive. The only unpardonable sin is recorded in Matthew 12:32. However, the Bible warns us not to make swear so casually. To learn more about the teaching on swearing, you may do a word search by typing "swear" on the Bible Text search box and check on the books of Leviticus, Numbers and Matthew. Remember, do not read only a bible verse. Proper understanding needed in accordance with its context. Shalom Azure |

310 | how old was job before he died | Job 42:16 | azurelaw | 221397
Dear michanthony, The Bible did not record the age of Job. From the verse above, after his trial, he lived another 140 years. In the beginning chapter, Job had 10 children already. Some study surmised that he should be over 200 years old. Shalom Azure |

311 | How do I tell if she is Christian? | John 10:5 | azurelaw | 221312
Dear keliy, I am sorry I have to say that I am a bit perplexed by your question as I think (base on your performance on the forum) that you should know the answer. Since you have known her by her fruit (Mat 7:20, 1 John 2:15-19) and discerned her wrong motive of going to church, what more can you do to bring glory to God except stand firm in your faith and express “brotherly Christian” love in an appropriate and decent manner. Are you able to harm the Kingdom of God? (John 10:28-29) Talk to her sincerely of your concern, and you might need to apologize for hurting her "feeling" as well. Please do not “demonize” your friend. It could be your own lust or weakness in faith or sentimental weakness or you think “you” can keep her in the faith, etc.…that lead you into the temptation (James 1:14) Pray that Holy Spirit works in both of you for the glory of our Lord. Shalom Azure |

312 | Help if woman took neighbor's husband | Matt 5:32 | azurelaw | 221304
Dear Anamak, 1/ It is sure not appropriate to expose your friend's name (if she is your friend) in a public forum. Despite her wrong doing (only according to what you have portrayed), you should keep her anonymous if you truly treat her as a friend. 2/ This kind of issue is usually very complicated. You should urge and encourage your friend (?) to talk to her pastor or elder or someone mature in faith at her church. 3/ I would suppose that she is your friend, then you should speak the truth in love as what is taught in Mat 18:15-17. Please read the scripture in its context. It is about forgiving, fair judgment and church discipline. Lastly, every action of helping the family and your friend should be supported with fervent and sincere prayers. Shalom Azure P.S. I wonder if you are the wife. |

315 | Prayer of Faith | Matt 6:9 | azurelaw | 221035
Dear Gamal, There is no such thing/wordings/example of Prayer of Faith. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ talked about praying properly in Matthew 6. Read the chapter and meditate. I also recommend you a book "The God Who Hears" - by W. Bingham Hunter. I think it is a biblical study of prayer. Here are a few quotes from the book for your interest:- "...teaching and preaching about prayer often distort Scripture. We are told to use the Lord's promises as if they had no context in biblical literature or life, and we are encouraged to claim things the Bible never names. The name of Jesus is invoked over things He wouldn't recognize. And some of our godliest folk are tortured by barbarian banter: 'Maybe someday you'll have enough faith to be healed.'" "...I passionately disagree with the notion that prayer is a way to get from God what we want. Christian prayer, as explained in Scripture, seems something else entirely: Prayer is a means God uses to give us what He wants. The most important word in this definition is God...at root most of our prayer difficulties are theological problems......in the sense that we simply do not focus enough on the 'Theo'......prayer really makes sense only against the background of God's nature and attributes......" "From a biblical point of view, prayer is related to everything that we are and everything that God is. God does not respond to our prayers. God responds to us: to our whole life......Prayer is communication from whole persons to the Wholeness which is the living God." Shalom Azure |

317 | Will the AntiChrist speek 666 languages | Revelation | azurelaw | 220988
Dear mamashell, I don't see any biblical support for such saying thus I would not weigh it with much measure. For past discussions about the antichrist issue, you may make use of the "Advanced Search" function (blue letter) on the top right hand corner, type in "antichrist" and the tracable period. It will lead you to a number of past posts. Shalom Azure P.S. I don't hold the view that there will be actually a visible "stamp" or "mark" of 666. But rather it is a symbolic meaning that people who are allied with and worship the ungodly/rebellious/evil authority in their "minds" (666 on the forehead) and "deeds" (666 on the hands). However, I am open to be corrected with scriptural support :-) |

319 | Right there with you... | Gen 2:2 | azurelaw | 220983
Dear Rick, As a new user, you might not be familiar with how the postings organized as I see you are posting follow up posts as "questions". Just want to inform you that when you make a follow up post/note/question, you just need to "mark" it as "note" so that it would not be occupying the "primary question" section on the main page, and yet it can still be read and answered. Shalom Azure |

320 | Remember... | Gen 2:2 | azurelaw | 220959
Dear Rick, You should have also read the below in the TOU: You must abide by the following rules in connection with your use of the Forums: - Postings must be Biblically based and not opposing the Bible's sole authority (sola Scriptura), Christianity, or the deity of Jesus Christ. This is, I believe, exactly what Brad asked you to comply with in his post to you. Shalom Azure |
