Dear Robert, I have to agree with Doc that he encourages you to diligently study His Holy Word. The Bible is not only about the 10 commandments that as a user manual guiding our daily lives, the Bible is so rich with its treasure of God's revelation of Himself, His redeeming grace through Jesus Christ, how we could come to know Him, live according to His will, etc. (Psalm 119) Enjoy your study and taste His glory. Dear bless01, I am terribly sorry for your situation. However, I agree with Brother Doc that you go to seek counsel from your pastor and mature Christian women. You don't have to face the problem alone. Remember also to bring everything to Christ in prayer. You need to pray for yourself and your husband as well. I will be praying for you. Shalom Azure |

266 | Genesis 1-2 | Rev 1:8 | azurelaw | 222811
Dear renamacd, Yes and no. Yes, Genesis 1-2 tell us about the origin of the universe, earth and people. No, there is no origin of God. See Rev 1:8. God is at all self-existent eternally. He is the creator of all (including time and space). 268 | questions and answers about jonhan | Bible general Archive 4 | azurelaw | 222587
Dear sajackson, First, the Bible does not say it was a whale that swallowed Jonah. It was a BIG FISH. One important thing we need to set a good example for children is that we should not speculate or imagine too much on the scripture outside of its context. The main theme of the book of Jonah is not about Jonah and the big fish as most bible story books for children portray it like a fairy tale. It is about God's mercy and His saving grace in contrast to human's self-righteousness or unloving human heart (i.e. Jonah). See how the book ends with God's words in the last chapter. You first have to understand what is the message in the book of Jonah before you can rightly develop questions for kids biblically. Study the book for yourself first. Dear fieldsrobyn (aka robynfields), It is very likely that you are having a dual registration on the forum which is in violation of the TOU. I am afraid that such behaviour would jeopardize yourself a revocation of your accounts by the host unless you can provide them with a reasonable explanation and decide which account to keep. By the way, I have also seen that all your questions appear to be homework assignment. Please understand that the forum is not designed for encouraging students leaving their responsibilities to others. 279 | Who was Mark | Col 4:10 | azurelaw | 222261
Dear joycedorman, I suppose you mean the author of the Gospel of Mark. Church tradition consider him John Mark, Barnabas' cousin (Col 4:10), closely associated with Peter (1 Peter 5:13)thus penned the Gospel of Mark. No scriptural record shows that he was called by Jesus nor he had any special gifts. He failed Paul in his ministry and caused argument between Paul and Barnabas (Acts 15:39). However, he should have been restored later and Paul commended him (2 Tim 4:11). |

Dear Shmibrjill, Scripture did not say if his actions sinful or not. I believe he did it out of righteous anger. The reason that Moses got punished (could not enter the promise land - Canaan) was clearly stated in Numbers 20:12. Shalom Azure |
