205 | What is the meanining of Beatitudes? | Matt 5:1 | azurelaw | 227182
Dear Gracy, Welcome to the forum. Here is what Charles Biggs' commented regarding the Beatitudes... *quote* The 'Beatitudes' are simply what those who have been gripped by the grace of the Lord Jesus and have been saved by his precious blood will begin to look like. In other words, the 'Beatitudes' are the characteristics of Christ-likeness that will gradually be manifested in the believer's life. The 'Beatitudes' are, if you will, "Attitudes of Gratitude" for the work that Christ has already begun in us, and knowing that this work will continue until the Day when Christ returns for us (Phil. 1:6). *unquote* Shalom Azure |

208 | Question about Matt 8:34 | Matt 8:34 | azurelaw | 227077
Dear Laquita, Welcome to the forum. The answer lies in V33 where you may see that the swine herd was a property of someone lived in Gadarenes (a gentile city). We may surmise that seeing the destruction of his property (the swines) by Jesus, the owner and the people there did not want Him to further cause them troubles. They most likely did not concern who Jesus is but their own properties. I hope this helps. Shalom Azure |

210 | The gift of tongues | Eph 1:1 | azurelaw | 226705
Dear Crys, Base on what you have said and the excellent answers to you from both Brad and Beja, I couldn't help but urge you to consider what Beja suggested "...to flee this church and go to a sounder more scriptural church...". It is not only what your pastor teaches is not biblical, but also his attitude ("... He totally blasted me out of the water and said no way") toward your loving heart to speak to him in private for clarification on his teaching. This proves that he does not deal with God's Word faithfully or tend His flock properly, furthermore, he appears to be arrogant. Shalom Azure |

219 | Does God create some people evil? | Prov 16:4 | azurelaw | 225828
Dear Yendor, I think you might be looking for Prov 16:4. In short, the verse is talking about God's sovereignty. However, please don't just read a verse or two to draw your conclusion and then make hasty application. Read the whole book of Proverb to know what the purpose it is for according to the background of the Israelite's history. 2 Tim 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. May you be blessed with your hardworking. Shalom Azure |
