21 | Disease or Bad Personal Choice?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 86903
That's a real interesting perspective. Let me ask you this; Is the bible a book that Christians should follow, or is it a book of fairy tales written long ago for a distant group of people?? I ask this because the bible tends to indicate that Love rejoices not in iquity, but in truth. So who's truth does Love rejoice in, Man's or God's??

Ed, Thanks for the education. I really didn't know all this. At least now I know how to pray. Thanks. |

23 | Disease or Bad Personal Choice?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 86921
Granted, I DO need prayer, so maybe we should both pray for spiritual wisdom. I'm not condemning Love, I just get slightly irritated when it appears that we accept the part of the bible that fits us, and trash everything else we don't like. The bible's perspective on the sin-Homosexuality- is clear. It's an abomination unto the Lord. The bible's perspective on the sinner-Homosexuals-is also clear. Love the person, hate the sin. "Love rejocies not in inquity, but the truth.." My question still stands, "Whoes truth, God's or Man's??" If it's God's truth, He has an awful lot to say on the issue, and none of it looks to promising for the sin itself. If it's Man's truth, then all we're going to do is justify the wrong that we do so it won't be wrong, INSPITE of what God's truth says. Would you mind if we discussed what some of those verses mean?? |

24 | Am I Wrong?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 86976
Isn't this suppose to happen to a degree. Doesn't scripture indicate that this world system of things will continue to degenerate until a spicific time period?? I'm not saying that this is an excuse to shriek our christian responsability, but it is stipulated in the bible isn't it??
25 | Disease or Bad Personal Choice?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 86977
Well not realy because now I'm confused. If Love rejoices in the truth, and the truth is as we know it in scriptures, scriptures indicate that same sex marriages is a big no no. So how can you be supportive of it?? That is unless you're going to tell me I misunderstood your first response. I got the impression that you thought that it was OK, as long as they loved one another. |

26 | Functions of the Body of Christ | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87073
I'm looking for additional information on the functions of the church. From Acts 2:42-47, I'm able to determine that the functions of the church include TEACHING; which in my opinion would include evangelism; LEARNING, our Heavenly Father's expections; CARING for one another, in ALL aspects of the matter. We are our brother's and sister's keepers. FELLOWSHIP, something we should not forsake ourselves of; and WORSHIP. Can anything be added to this and supported with bible passages?? |

27 | Am I Wrong?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87086
It appears to me that this answer was taken from Romans 1:21-32. I've been encountering different aspects of this verse since I've been at this site. I'm sure you might know this already, but for me I'm just finding out how close we are at overturning the 'Row vs. Wade' decision. Apparently the woman has become a Christian. Has been one for awhile. In order to get this decision overturned, it requires legal actions on her part which as I understand she is ready, willing, and able. I believe that a timetable have already been established. I also believe that this will be met with a great deal of resistance. I'm soliciting your prayers in this matter if you don't mind. Your's and everyother Christian who might read this. OK?? |

28 | Attitudes or Beattitudes?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87095
I have a question regarding the difference of opinion on certain issues. What's up with the attitudes?? We're suppose to share the Word with Love and Humility. We're not going to always agree with our brothers or sisters. For some of us, our Spiritual Education is on a lower level than others, and some of the replies I've read are nothing short than anti-biblical. But is that reason enough to become upset with one another?? Whatever happen to Blessed are the Peace Makers?? I'm under the impression that scripture says that if we have fault with our brethern, then reconciliation should be made quickly before the problem escalates. I personally believe that within that commandment, reconciliation should be made rather we are at fault or not. Keeping the peace is more important than Pride. I've been reading alot of the notes being passed between what are suppose to be mature christians, and I sense hostility, with very little apology. Jesus didn't give up on the lady at the well because she just didn't get it at first, neither did He give up on Nicodems, and I don't know if he ever understood at all, but in neither case did Jesus turn around and refuse to stop trying, or blow them outta the water because they just didn't get what He was saying. And before anyone wants to go and get all technical on these examples, their just that, examples. The point being, lets choose our words a little more carefully; keep our tempers in check, and if necessary pray before we give our responces. Remember: 1. The truth is suppose to be shared in Love and with Humility. 2. Anything that is not done in love is done in vain. And 3. There are a number of mature christians on this site, lets act like it. I'm crucified daily off this site by the world, I do not need to be, nor witness crucifixion on this site by my brothers and sisters oover something like a differenc of opinion. The CurtMan |

Prazn, Listen, I owe you an apology. I got you confused with someone called, 'Angellightboy'. I received something from him that gave me the impression that he was all for homosexuality. Within our first communication together, he implied that same sex marrigae were OK, if they loved one another. Which sparked my reply about Love rejoices not in iniquity, but in truth. Somewhere in the middle of this you steped in, I lost track, and thus the reason for my apology. I truley am sorry, and ask for your forgiveness. I honestly can't say how I would respond if someone told me that they thought I was all for the homosexual agenda. |

30 | Attitudes or Beattitudes?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87236
Dear John, Thanks for your reply, I can't help but to feel that emotions are to be ruled, not the ruler. In other words we are suppose to rule our emotions, and not let our emotions rule us. When our Heavenly Father spoke on Humility, I personally got the feeling that He ment for us to be Humble and Loving towards one another INSPITE of our emotions. How many times have your emotions led you down the wrong road?? My wife and I are walking down the street arguing like cats and dogs. Some creep jumps outta the ally and beats her till she's black and blue. I do nothing. Finally the Lord calls me home. I have to answer for my actions while here on earth. He ask me why didn't I keep my marriage vow to protect my wife the day she was hospitalized. What am I going to say to Him John, that I was mad with her?? It's suppose to be about OBEDIENCE John. Obedience inspite of our emotions to the Father. So do you think that I'm wrong on this one or what?? |

31 | Attitudes or Beattitudes?? | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87239
Good Morning Mommapbs, I thought a PeaceMaker was just that, one who kept the peace, it kinda goes hand in hand with loving you enemies, whatching your tongue and all that. However I could be wrong. If a PeaceMaker is one who shares Christ, then do you think it would be fair to say that a PeaceMaker is one who shares Christ with humility and in love?? Remember; if it's not done in love then it is in vain, I Cor. 13:1-2. Also, if there is an issue on the forum that might get one's feathers ruffled, do you personally think that it would be wise to take part of that discussion. What we say today, if not said correctly, we might end up apologizing for tomorrow. The CurtMan |

Radioman2, I can't arguee with you on that. Been there, done that, and got a t-shirt for it. A few years ago I had this crazy idea about evanglizing Jehovah Witnesses. I seriously got up on Saturday Mornings and went to the street corners where they were handing out Watchtower Mags. I had been dealing with these two men for awhile. One of them was deeply grounded in his belief, he wasn't going anywhere, or so that's the impression he gave me. His partner on the other hand started taking interest in some of the questions that were being asked. His partner couldn't get around the truth and he started to pick this up. The discussion was on the destruction of the world taken out of II Peter 3. I was consteadly being hit with; "No, you're wrong."; "It doesn't mean that."; the whole nine yards. I ended up loosing my cool and came outta my mouth with, "I don't care what the bible says, I'm telling you what it means!!" End of story. Everything said from that point was wasted energy. This is an open line of communication. You might not be able to get through to the person you're corrisponding with, but you have no idea how you're effecting the person who's following your conversation. |

33 | HOW COULD JESUS BE A DESCENDANT OF DAVID | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87243
Luke's Genealogy of Jesus in Luke 3 is believed to be from Mary's side of the family. Both Joseph and Mary are decendants of David. The CurtMan |

34 | Does anyone have a good way to explain t | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87594
Three in One. That's one possible explanation. You have the Father; the Son; and the Holy Ghost; three separate and distinct individuals within one God-Head. Something like the Smith family. You have Mr. Smith; Mrs. Smith and Jr. Smith. How many individuals are we talking about here?? How many families are there?? Three individuals and one family. The Oneness of God is a principle that is stipulated time and time again throughout the scriptures. Take the body as another example. We have many members to our body; fingers, toes, arms, legs, so forth and so on, but how many bodies do we have?? I Cor. 12:12, "For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, SO ALSO IS CHRIST." One of the most important things to know about the trinty, is that even though there is an order, even though the Son submitts to the will of the Father, please do not take this to imply that the Son is inferior to the Father. They are equal in nature and power. There are many who believes that just because Jesus submitts to the Father, He is inferior to the Father. Jesus is no more inferior to the Father, than a wife is inferior to the husband. What Jesus submitts to is the position of the Father, the same way the wife submitts to the poistion of the husband. Hope this helps. TheCurtMan |

Hello Truthfinder, I'm know as The CurtMan. I just read your post and I was left with the impression that you believe that the doctrine of the trinity is anti-biblical, is this correct?? If it is I was wondering if you could answer me three questions; 1. Inspite of all that scripture says and suggest on this topic, how did you come to the conclusion that you did?? 2. How would you explain John 1:1 3. Is Jesus Jehovah?? If I misunderstood your post, then my apologies, but I can't get around the last line, "Needless to say, the trinity doctrine is not a Bible teaching." |

Hey Truthfinder, Thanks for answering question 3. in your notes to Tim. I'm under the impression that scripture also stipulates that there is only one God, Isa. 44:6 and 45:5. Now if Jesus isn't Jehovah, and if Jesus is 'a god', then aren't you suggesting polythesim?? the belief in more than one God |

You know Truthfinder, You speak like a Church Official. You have the ability to explain what you believe like a teacher of sorts. You said to remember what Elohim means, but elohim has a variety of meanings, but my personal favorite is 'plurallity in unity', is that the one you're referring to?? It does describe God you know. If you get the oppertunity, and only if you so desire, could you please explain the term 'son of' to me?? Are you aware of how that term was applied during Jesus' day?? Are you aware of what it means?? |

39 | Does anyone have a good way to explain t | Bible general Archive 1 | TheCurtMan | 87775
You know Truthfinder, I wouldn't be so quick to draw comparrisons between Jehovah and Allah. It's to my understanding that Allah is a very impersonal god. He doesn't work in the lives of the individual. My God is very personal. He wants a relationship with me personally. The last time I checked, He was making claims to knowing the number of hairs on my head. The original question was, "What do the term 'Son of' means??" "How was this term applied in Jesus' day??" I don't think that you're going to find the answer in the Koran, so I'll tell you. The term 'Son of' was kinda like a figure of speech back in Jesus' day. It could mean the male child of a father, and on occasions that was how it was applied. But mostly the term was used in referrance to something with the exact same nature and quility. Think about it, when Jesus claimed to be the 'Son of' God. They knew that he wasn't so much claiming to be the male child of God, but He was making professions to having the exact same nature and quilities of God. He was proclaiming to BE God, that's why they tried to stone Him. Deffinitions for words today differ from the definitions for words two thousand years ago. Do the homework yourself, let me know what you come up with. The CurtMan |

Hey Truthfinder, You said, 'When applying to Jehovah, 'Elohim is used as a plural of majesty, dignity, or excellence. Could you break this down and explain it to me?? Let me tell you what I know, "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth." Now Elohim was used in this verse, my question is who created the heavens and the earth, Jehovah or Jesus?? Scripture indicates a plurality, and you're trying to tell me something different. I understand scripture, what I'm not comprehending is your point of view. |
