21 | The Center of Truth | Mark 10:27 | TheCurtMan | 115995
This is a little something that was shared with me. I found it rather interesting. I thought that I’d share it with the forum. Was wondering if anyone had any comments on it. The chapter in the center of the Bible is Psalms 118. There are 594 chapters before Psalms 118 There are 594 chapters after Psalms 118 594 multiplied by 2 is 1188 What is the center verse in the Bible? Psalms 118:8 Does this verse say anything significant about God’s Perfect Will in our lives?? Read it and see. Now isn’t that odd how this all works out?? Or is/was God in the center of it?? Comments anyone?? The CurtMan |

22 | What is Love?? | Matt 22:37 | TheCurtMan | 115982
I appreciate all the responces I've received, THANKS!! Funny how things worked out. I saw the little boy yesterday just prior to him being escorted home by his grand parents. They only had him on a shot term basis. I asked him if he remembered me. He shook his head yes. I asked him if he remembered the question he asked me yesterday. He shook his head no. I said you asked me what was love. He said, be nice to people when they make you mad. "Close enough", I said. For a hot second I knew what it felt like to be a proud parent. "That's how you show love. If you want to know what love is, find out who God is because God is love". That one I got from the forum. Because of the expression on his face, I thought I lost him altogether. Then he said, "God is love, who is God?" Ever been put on a spot by a kid?? I said that Jesus came out of Heaven to be punished for him because Jesus loved him and Jesus wanted to always be with him forever and ever. Then he said, "So Jesus is love", "Yes exactly right" Then he said, "Did they make Jesus mad?" I kinda thought of the temple incident and was saved by his grand mother who showed to pick him up. He told his grandmother that Jesus was love. They say that kid was slow, but I saw no traces of it. Thanks again for everyone's help The CurtMan |

23 | What is Love?? | Matt 22:37 | TheCurtMan | 115925
Thanks, I'll give this a try. Does this really explain what love is, or are you aware of my dilemma?? I need to explain this to a seven year old.
24 | What is Love?? | Matt 22:37 | TheCurtMan | 115918
Thanks. I was referring to God's love. This seven year old kid with the mentality of a maybe a six year old asked me what love was. No time to read I Cor. 13. I said that love was the ability to do right by a person inspite of your emotions. He didn't get it. I said be kind to people no matter how mad they make you. That one he got, but it didn't sit well with me. What I tell this kid might affect him for the rest of his life. I have a definate window of maybe three minutes with this kid tonight, after that I can not say. I just thought that I could get a simple definition off the forum by some mature parents. |

25 | What is Love?? | Matt 22:37 | TheCurtMan | 115914
Actually I have. My problem is I'm having a difficult time explaining to a seven year old. Thought maybe there were some parents out there who have already been down this road and could enlighten me in areas I've not considered.
26 | Searching for the truth | Eph 6:11 | TheCurtMan | 115875
I believe that sins are commited directly when we as Christians, know the will of God and voilate them intentionally for whatever reason. A 'little white lie' to get out of trouble. Taking a few items from the job because they are much needed at the house. So forth and so on. Unintentional sins are when we unintentionally voilate God's law. Like my wife telling the bill collector that I'm not home. Not because he's a bill collector, but because she honestly didn't know that I was in the basement. One of the problems are that we as Christians are so surrounded by sin on a daily basis, and because of our nature, it just doesn't seem to bother alot of us as it should. Can that really be considered as standing our ground against the adversary?? |

28 | Is it right to say Judas's heart was har | John 17:12 | TheCurtMan | 115865
Judas was responsible for his own action. God knew that he would choose to do what he did. But the decision was entirely up to Judas. It was his choice, he made the decision, he acted upon the decision that he made, he suffered the consequences of that decision. An awful lot can be said about 'A Free Will'. The CurtMan |

29 | How has the "Passion" film changed you? | Luke 24:26 | TheCurtMan | 115801
Ok, so the movie elaborated on some facts that isn't in scripture. Does it really matter?? The original question was, How have the movie Passion changed you? When I saw the movie, my focus was not on the inconsistencies of the movie, I expected that. My focus was on the God, who got up off His throne, came to earth and died a horrible death. Not just so I could escape the eternal damnation that I deserve, but also so I can spend eternity with Him. Now rather the movie went overboard in some areas regarding Jesus' suffering or not, Jesus did suffer, GREATLY. So the movie does not meet everyone's expectations, what biblical base movie that you know of does?? Rather Mel Gibson has hit the nail on the head with this movie, or missed the mark, the movie itself has Christians and non-Christians alike discussing it. Great witnessing opportunity don't you think?? The CurtMan |

30 | Will the earth be distroyed? | 2 Pet 3:13 | TheCurtMan | 115759
Will the earth be distroyed? YES!! I can not explain the writtings of Solomon in Ecclesiastes as clearly as I’d like. However; take a look at v.2. He states that all is vanity. Is that what you think about your Christian Walk? Your relationship with the Lord, is it vanity? II Perter 3:12-13 says, “Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13) Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Revelations 21:1 says, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away;and there was no more sea. This earth as we know it will cease to exsist at some point and time. I just can not say when. Therefore your previous thoughts about the destruction of the earth were correct. And, “YES, this is very important”. The CurtMan |

31 | are there more than one kind of death? | Rev 20:13 | TheCurtMan | 115685
Well there is a Physical Death. That's when the body is buried. Then there is an Eternal Death. That's when you are cast into the Eternal Lake of Fire. And I also believe in a Spiritual Death. That's when we reject Christ and live according to our own ways. |

32 | Who to blame for killing Jesus? | Luke 24:26 | TheCurtMan | 115617
Jesus did come to die for us. And the Jews were responcible for crucifying Him. But do that justify what they did?? They lied on Him; belittled and degraded Him, then they turned around and nailed an innocent man to the cross. That was why He was here, but do that make what they did right?? Was it not Peter who stood up and accused the Jews of crucifying the Lord of Gory?? Was he right in doing so?? Judas' reasoning for betraying Christ really was not about fulfilling prophecy, but it was about the money. At least that's what I got out the movie. The CurtMan |

33 | How has the "Passion" film changed you? | Luke 24:26 | TheCurtMan | 115616
As a matter of fact. I was just stating in another post that the movie has given me a stronger desire to "love thy enemies". I doubt very seriouly that I'll be able to explain this as clearly as I'd like, but according to Eph. 6:10-12, my battle is not with flesh and blood. I believe that the adversary can use people to accomplish his will. He uses them as vessels. To watch all those people yelling for Jesus' crucifixion in the courtyard of the movie, just ate me up. We as Christians need to love one another as commanded by Jesus. For if we don't show the world love, true love, who will?? The adversary?? I believe he'll be getting his chance soon, and according to scripture, he messes it up big-time!! |

34 | From what are we ransomed? | Mark 10:45 | TheCurtMan | 115613
So just how far off base would you say that I am if I told you we were ransomed from death?? "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Romans 6:23. "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me" Psalms 51:5. And of course, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23. By right, I should be hellbound, but my Lord and Savior loved me so much that He laid down His life so I could be with Him in eternaty. I just saw that movie The Passion. Because of it, I now have a stronger desire to "Love thy enemies". Jesus went through all that suffering partly on my behalf, almost two thousand years before I was born. Had it not been for that suffering, I would be eternally lost. What is holding us hostage? Personal Desire. According to Gal. 5:16-17, without the Spirit of God, we would not have the desire to "Walk in the Spirit", but fulfil the "lust of the flesh". And according to Romans 8:5-8, those who are after the flesh, can not please God. I believe Personal Desire is holding us hostage to death, and that Jesus made a "way of escape" by giving His life as a ransom. The CurtMan |

35 | Can I get a description of hell? | Luke 16:19 | TheCurtMan | 114753
Russhell, I've taken the time to read the responses to your question regarding hell. I have to admit that Kalos gave a much more scriptural detail answer then I did. And I have to agree with Kalos in the regards that hell is a real place. It is as real as Heaven; as present day earth; even as the air that you're breathen. It is a real place. If you don't mind me asking, what provoked such a question?? And, are you satisfied with your answers?? |

36 | Can I get a description of hell? | Luke 16:19 | TheCurtMan | 114688
I guess a good starting place would be Luke 16:19. It talks about this rich guy that went to hell, (KJV). The guy was suffering greatly, and knew it. It mentions flames and the fact that the guy was in so much torment that he actually believed that a small drop of water off of someone’s finger tip would soothe him. He had his memory. He was able to remember the fact that he had brothers. He might have even remember people trying to pursade him to live a godly life. And more importantly, Hell is a oneway trip, once you go in, the ONLY time you come out is to be judged and to be cast in the Eternal Lake of Fire, your Eternal Resting Place, providing you’re not a Christian that is, Rev. 20:13-15. 37 | Five words: see also 1 Cor 14:2 | Rom 8:16 | TheCurtMan | 114686
Hey Ray, I agree with you. Distinguishing the Word of God is highly important. Giving the fact that you're right, how do you go by rectifying that which is already in print?? Also, is there a Hebrew word that refers to angel and spirit?? I ask because I honestly don't know. What I honestly believe is that God is the Author of His word. I believe that He had His word written the way He wanted it written, II Peter 1:20-21. According to the King James Version of this verse, the bottom half of v.21 says, “…but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” Correct me if I’m wrong, but could this verse indicate that these men wrote as they were instructed to write?? And could this come right down to the very words that they used?? And could I Cor.2:13 be used to validate this point?? Or are these errors the result of translational differences?? And just for the record, I have looked up the verses you provided, and I can see your point, especially in Ezekiel 36:26. There has to be a reason why it is written the way that it is, and I have to believe that it’s the way God wanted it to be. Anything else raises too many questions in my mind. The CurtMan |

38 | Thank the Catholics for "The Passion"? | 1 Cor 3:22 | TheCurtMan | 114594
Well needless to say, I am not a Catholic, nor have I seen the movie as of yet. Some prayer buddies and I plan on seeing the movie this weekend. Personally, I believe the movie is a tool that can be used by God. From all that I’ve heard of the movie, it is causing people to sit down and give serious consideration to biblical issues. Those who are unsaved are going to see this movie. Even if one or two become belivers because of this movie, don’t you think that it might be worthwhile no matter who put the movie out. Also, a number of Christians themselves really didn’t have a clue to all that Jesus went through the night before his crucifixion. I’m actually surprised at the number of Christians who actually believed that He was hung on a smooth piece of wood. His back would have been sore, bloodlied, and raw from the flogging He took. The Cross was not smooth, but rugged. In trying to push/pull Himself up to maintain His breathing would have been painful in itself, not to mention the splinters that probably went into His back for His efforts. From what I’ve heard of the movie, it gives some insight on the suffering He went through. Then the movie itself is causing some churches to get together and discuss it through Discussion Groups. There is a verse in the bible that I do not have the time to look up for accuratcy, but it says something to the effect that if it is good and honorable, meditate on it. Meditating on the suffering of Christ will help a number of Christians to continue to Walk in the Spirit. For by giving in to the flesh, are we as Christians not crucifying Christ all over again?? 39 | Five words: see also 1 Cor 14:2 | Rom 8:16 | TheCurtMan | 114469
Thanks for straightening me out on that. I'm all for being filled with the Holy Spirit. It's to my understanding that if you do not have the Spirit of God residing in you, there will soon be a time when you're going to wish you had. As far as the lower case spirit in reference to the Holy Spirit. I guess I would be one of a group who would find it degrading and offensive. The Holy Spirit is just that, Holy. So why print His name in a lower case thereby denying Him the respect that is due Him, for any reason?? That is unless you do not believe that the Holy Spirit is God. That being the case, then I guess you could print His name anyway you want. It's kinda like Jesus with a small 'j', or Jehovah with a small 'j'. One other thing Ray. I know that sometimes the tone of these letters tend to be misleading. If I'm coming across any other way then frank and straightforward, then it is not intentional. You ask what I thought. 40 | Is Satan Jesus' brother? Gen 3:15 | Gen 3:15 | TheCurtMan | 114467
Thanks for the response and the comments. However; there are a couple of clairifications I'd like to make, as well as ask you a very important question. When I said that Satan was 'terminated', I did not mean to reply that he was dead. What I was referring to was his position in heaven coming to an end. He nolonger have the position that he held. If Satan was dead, then I'd have a lot less trails in my life. In reference to Isa. 14, (sorry about the misquoted scripture earlier) I've always believed that to be a Hebrew Parallelism. Meaning that scripture is referring to more than just one thing, more than just the King of Babylon. One such example of Hebrew Parallelism would be Gen. 3:15. Who do you think God was talking to and about when He said, "He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel" Was He referring to the snake or the devil?? Another good Parallelism would be II Sam. 7:12-13. Who was God referring to Jesus or Solomon?? Everything else at this point isn't as important as the question I must ask for clarification sake. Is Jesus Christ Jehovah?? The CurtMan |
