Bible Question: Perhaps I'm simpleminded, but I don't understand the fuss over the movie: anti-semitism and all. If Jesus came to die for our sins, why should we blame the Jews for killing Him? In the same logic, we shouldn't even blame Judas for betraying him. Or am I missing something? |
Bible Answer: Jesus did come to die for us. And the Jews were responcible for crucifying Him. But do that justify what they did?? They lied on Him; belittled and degraded Him, then they turned around and nailed an innocent man to the cross. That was why He was here, but do that make what they did right?? Was it not Peter who stood up and accused the Jews of crucifying the Lord of Gory?? Was he right in doing so?? Judas' reasoning for betraying Christ really was not about fulfilling prophecy, but it was about the money. At least that's what I got out the movie. The CurtMan |
