101 | What is the glory of God? | Is 42:8 | TheCurtMan | 87444
I hope you didn't take my question about God waking me up in the morning the wrong way. It was an example from the perspective of someone that doesn't acknowledge nor give God the 'glory' He desirves. Just for the record, that someone isn't me!! After reading John's answer, I agree with you, God's glory is alot deeper than my difinition. But just outta curiosity, suppose I couldn't define God's glory from a christian's perspective; or God's attributes, how would you explain these things to say a child of ten years of age?? Is it possible to explain the things of God in simple terminology?? Or is there any need because everyone on this web site is a mature christian?? Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not trying to be funny or smart, it's just that simplifying the word of God has always been a very deep and compassionate concern of mine. I just believe that the discussion of the Word of God should be simple enough that even a child could follow it. Just in case there is a 'babe' present and following it. So what do you think, that maybe I should sign off and take my concerns elsewhere?? |

103 | handling relationships as a Christian | Matthew | TheCurtMan | 85935
Greetings Gab, I'm known as the CurtMan. Unfortunately, sometime God's Will for our lives and I emotions tend to go in different directions. Sometime ago I met this young lady that I really did love. We made plans to get married. We broke up three days before the wedding. I was shattered beyond belief. She wasn't a Christian, I called myself one although my actions said differently. Shortly thereafter I met the woman that God had intended for me to meet. We've been happily married for nine plus years. Had I married that first lady, I probably never would have met my wife. It's not easy remaining in the Will of the Lord, but it is the best place to be if you're his child. I can not advise you on you next step in refference to your girlfriend because your emotions are involved. However; I STRONGLY suggest two things 1. Take your problem to God in prayer and be willing to follow His leading, I mean afterall, He do know best. 2. Don't just read, but study and meditate on Matt. 12:45- Matt. 13:23. Just outta curiosity, are you 100 percent sure that this is the women that your Heavenly Father would have you to be with?? I mean if you're His child He's interested in your obedience, and if He has someone else lined up for you and you reject that person for this one; or if you marry this woman and she continues to disrespect you in other areas, then might not your marriage ends up with a divorce?? And do you know how God feels about divorce?? |

104 | handling relationships as a Christian | Matthew | TheCurtMan | 86061
Dear Gab, Trust me when I say I know how you feel. You must now handle this situation in a mature christian fashion. You pray about the situation. God is the only one who have the answers and the ability to heal your hurt. Just know that His soultion may not meet your expectations. Have you taken the time to read Matt. 13:1-23?? It's a parable about three soils. The explination to this parable is founded in v.18-23. Within the explanation, you will probable discover the reason why your girlfriend is acting the way she is. My prayers will be with you. The CurtMan |

105 | handling relationships as a Christian | Matthew | TheCurtMan | 86234
Hey Gab, There is this story in the bible about a women that lost her son to injustice. She went to the King because she wanted justice. She wanted him deal with the matter. The King kinda paid her no mind at first, so she kept going back, again; and again; and again. Finally the King gave this women what she wanted just so she would leave him alone in the matter. You ever tried that with God?? Keep your partner lifted up in prayer. CONSISTENTLY. The Lord wills that none should perish, so keep praying for her salvation, or her return to the Lord, and you might be surprise at the results, God has the tendicy of going over and above our expectations on occasions. |

106 | Temptation - Physical or in thought? | Matt 4:5 | TheCurtMan | 94275
Due to the temptations that Jesus suffered, I find it hard to believe that it was only in His mind. I believe that being hungry is more physical than mental. According to Hebrews 4:15, Jesus was tempted in all things as we are tempted in all things. Our temptation is physical as well as in thought, therefore the temptations of Jesus would have had to be physical as well. As far as the transportation of Jesus to these high places, one would only be making assumptions because scripture do not say 'how' he was transported, only that the devil took him. However; Jesus was there expressly for the purpose to be tempted v.1, so I guess it would be fair to say that He ALLOWED the adversary to lead Him. The CurtMan |

107 | deception | Matt 7:12 | TheCurtMan | 90580
I had a co-worker that consistently lied on me, to me, and about me. She got under my skin so bad, that all I wanted to do was to punch her dead in her face. A friend of mind who was a minister told me to pray for her three times a day. He suggested that the more that I pray for her, the less hatred I'd have for her. I had nothing to loose but my job for fighting, and my testimony for being a Christian, so I tried things his way. and IT WORKED. I became more concerned for her spiritual welfare then I was for the things she was doing to me. Personally I suggest the same thing to you. Pray for that person three times a day at a minimum. The more that they upset you, the more you should pray for them. Eventually God will handle you problem like he handled my problem. Your problem isn't the other person, and what they're doing to you, your problem is self, and not knowing how to handle the situation. The CurtMan |

109 | Knocked out by holy spirit | Matt 16:6 | TheCurtMan | 90382

110 | Knocked out by holy spirit | Matt 16:6 | TheCurtMan | 90452
Brother BradK Thanks for the correction. I was aware of the term that was being referred to, but since neither is in the bible, I decided to go with the term that was already in play. You are absolutely right about knowing the difference between good bibically based theology and a perversion of the truth. You have any suggestions on how two brothers who believe in the same thing can get that point across?? |

112 | What does Gen2:24 means | Matt 19:5 | TheCurtMan | 116679
Actually, in short order I have always believed this verse to indicate that at the time of marriage, woman, become man's first and primary responcibility. I'm aware of too many marriages where the mother have a hard time letting the son go. She comes between the husband and the wife. The son let this happen. The wife feels as thought she is second place in her husband's life after his mother. According to this verse, that should not be the case, the wife should be the husband's first and primary responcibility over moms, dad, money, job, friends, relatives and everything else with the exception of our relationship with God. |

115 | What is Love?? | Matt 22:37 | TheCurtMan | 115918
Thanks. I was referring to God's love. This seven year old kid with the mentality of a maybe a six year old asked me what love was. No time to read I Cor. 13. I said that love was the ability to do right by a person inspite of your emotions. He didn't get it. I said be kind to people no matter how mad they make you. That one he got, but it didn't sit well with me. What I tell this kid might affect him for the rest of his life. I have a definate window of maybe three minutes with this kid tonight, after that I can not say. I just thought that I could get a simple definition off the forum by some mature parents. |

117 | What is Love?? | Matt 22:37 | TheCurtMan | 115982
I appreciate all the responces I've received, THANKS!! Funny how things worked out. I saw the little boy yesterday just prior to him being escorted home by his grand parents. They only had him on a shot term basis. I asked him if he remembered me. He shook his head yes. I asked him if he remembered the question he asked me yesterday. He shook his head no. I said you asked me what was love. He said, be nice to people when they make you mad. "Close enough", I said. For a hot second I knew what it felt like to be a proud parent. "That's how you show love. If you want to know what love is, find out who God is because God is love". That one I got from the forum. Because of the expression on his face, I thought I lost him altogether. Then he said, "God is love, who is God?" Ever been put on a spot by a kid?? I said that Jesus came out of Heaven to be punished for him because Jesus loved him and Jesus wanted to always be with him forever and ever. Then he said, "So Jesus is love", "Yes exactly right" Then he said, "Did they make Jesus mad?" I kinda thought of the temple incident and was saved by his grand mother who showed to pick him up. He told his grandmother that Jesus was love. They say that kid was slow, but I saw no traces of it. Thanks again for everyone's help The CurtMan |

118 | Were Women ever Crucified? | Matt 23:34 | TheCurtMan | 99666
Hey Justme, very interesting question. I’m personally not aware of any scripture that specifically says that a woman was ever crucified, but I believed that they were. Simply because I’m not aware of any place in scripture where a woman escaped the consequences of her actions simply because she was a woman. Now there’s one for the Women Libbers. A question regarding the parable of the Landowner (Matt. 21:33-39). If the vinedressers killed the landowner’s Son, any reason to believe that they wouldn’t do likewise to the Son’s servants, in likemanner regardless of their gender?? The CurtMan |

You get no arguments from me. I totally agree with you. This is one of the reasons why, if permitted, in the hereafter, I'm looking for Adam. My wife will be looking for Eve.smile
