21 | Jesus departed into Galilee | Not Specified | New Creature | 57813
I was reading in the gospel of John, and as I read the following verses, I felt the need to pause. Then a question about these verses entered my mind. Maybe someone in here can give me an answer. The verses are - John 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, 2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) 3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee. Question - Why was it that when the Lord, Jesus heard that, His name was being associated with water baptism, He left Judaea, and departed into Galilee? Any thoughts? |

24 | Holy Spirit takes up residence | Not Specified | New Creature | 60869
In a recennt discussion I had with a minister of a certain church, I used the following verse as well as others to tell him why I believe that the Holy Spirit takes up residence in every born-again believer. 1 Cor. 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? This minister said: "we are talking about an association between God and mankind and not about a physical residence." Am I right in saying that the Holy Spirit indwells the believer. And what could I possibly say to this minister to convince him of this truth if I am correct? Any and all help will be deeply appreciated |

25 | So who is right? | Not Specified | New Creature | 62114
Two sincere believers read the same Bible. After prayerfully reading, studying, mediatating, and trusting for the Lord's guidance in properly interpretaing the Bible, these two come away with differing theological perspectives, and doctrines. Both find Bibical support for why they believe the way they do. Is it possible that: A) one of then is wrong? B) both of them are wrong? C) both of them are only partially correct in their understanding? D) both are holding onto only half of the whole truth? E) other? "Whatever is only almost true is quite false, and among the most dangerous of errors, because being so near truth, it is more likely to lead astray. Precise knowledge is the only true knowledge, and he who does not teach exactly, does not teach at all." (H.W. Beecher) |

How is it possible that a loving and just God, could eternally condemn unbelievers to eternal torment, for their inability to believe the gospel message and respond in faith? Does God condemn them for their inability to turn from their sins? |

30 | difference between "LORD" and "Lord | Not Specified | New Creature | 68177
Why in many verses of Scripture is the word "Lord" sometimes found in all capital letters, "LORD" and in other instances found just with the fist letter in Caps: "Lord" Sometimes the switch even occurs in the same verse. What is the difference between "LORD" and "Lord?" Here is a Bibical example Psalms 110 1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. 2 The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. 3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. 4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. 5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. 6 He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries. 7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head. Can someone please provide me with the proper answer? New Creature |

32 | Which rendering of Luke 2: | Not Specified | New Creature | 74196
In Luke 2:14 of the NASB the verse is rendered "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased." Comparing it with the KJV which renders the same verse as follows Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace good will toward men. The noticeable difference is in the NASB rendering where there is the added ending; "with whom He is pleased." Which rendering of this verse could we say is closest to the orginal Greek, or is it just a matter of which of the ancient manuscripts were use in the translation of the two different versions of the Bible? Grace, love, and peace New Creature |

35 | ARE EVEN UNBELIVERS SANCTIFIED? | Not Specified | New Creature | 76872
How is it possible for the unbelieving wife to be sanctified by the beleiving husband. And does this mean that it is possible for unbelievers to become sanctified? see verse below 1 Cor.7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. 36 | Unbelieving spouse sanctified? | Not Specified | New Creature | 76901
I viewed the other discussions concerning this verse, (1 Cor. 7:14, one even says, that just because the unbelieving spouse is sanctified through the believing husband, that does not imply that the unbelieving spouse is saved in any way shape or form. Is it the marriage between the believing spouse and the unbelieving spouse that is sanctified, or is the wife sanctified as the text appears to indicate to me. I don't see where this verse says the marriage is sanctified, rather the verse states that the unbelieving spouse theirselves is what is sanctified through marriage with the believing spouse. So if "sanctified" means set apart for God, and also means holy, how is it possible that the unbelieving spouse is said to be "sanctified" (or holy) and yet be unsaved. How is this possible? 37 | same English word - different Greek word | Not Specified | New Creature | 84721
2 Tim. 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: In the above two verses the word "scripture" is used. In the first instance in verse 15 the Greek word, gramma pronounced (gram'-mah)is used for "scripture. In the second instance in verse 16 I find a different greek word, grapho pronounced (graf'-o)is used here for the word "scripture" What is the significance for the use of the two different uses of the greeks words in these two verses. Someone recently said that the first instance refers to the Old testament writtings and the second instance refers to the New Testament wriitings, so that both Old and New Testaments are meant here. What are your thoughts? Has anyone ever researched this? I did look at my Strongs definitions, but they didn't seem that helpful to me. I thought some of you might have a deeper understanding of the Greek as used here, than my Strongs has. New Creature |

38 | hinderances to correct understanding | Not Specified | New Creature | 86678
Do church goers begin to embrace certain teachings, because they have been indoctrinated by denominational creeds, and statements which they would not have otherwise arrived at, had they just stayed home and prayerfully read, studied, and mediatated on the Bible? In other words, can denominations be a hinderance to correct orthodoxy? Can you provide examples? |

39 | Flood account handed down through Shem? | Not Specified | New Creature | 91792
From what can be learned from Bibical chronology, one can find that Shem, the son of Noah lived 600 years. The first 100 years of his life were spent before the flood, and then Shem continued living 500 years after the flood had passed. Also by following Bibical years, I find that Shem outlived Abraham, and Shem was alive even in Isaac and Jacob's days. What makes this so intresting, is the fact that Shem was one of only 8 people that witnessed the ark being built, the ungodliness of the human race before the flood, the taking of all the animals aboard the ark two by two, the rains descending until everyone that was not aboard the ark perished from the face of the earth. It must have been truly amazing to people like Abraham, and others to hear directly from Shem, the account of how the ark was built, about how all those species of animals and their food was taken aboard the ark. And to hear Shem speak about the cries of the ungodly people who drowned in the flood. And then, how after the flood, they began to repopulate the earth. Wouldn't it have been wonderful, if we would be able to read a more detailed account of what happened before, during and after the flood from people like Abraham and others who probably heard about it first hand from Shem himself. Maybe the reason why God had Shem, the Antediluvial patriarch continue to live 500 years even after the flood had passed. was so the post-flood people could learn in detail about the flood directly from only one of 8 survivors of the flood. Any thoughts from others? In His service New Creature |
