141 | How to "win the world" ? | Bible general Archive 2 | New Creature | 110074
The point I'm trying to convey is that the MAJORITY of "so called" Christian Contemporary Music is not annointed, but glorifies man instead of God. And much of todays music is written by many only for the money. Many in the music business themselves say this is so, and they are much closer to what is happening in the CCM world than I am Shalom New Creature |

I also wanted to send the following verse your way. "Thus saith the LORD, stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk therein.'" Jeremiah 6:16 Peace and love New Creature |

Dear Ken John; After reading your posts, and discovering your dislike for the NIV Bible and possibly other modern translations, I was reminded of the following short story about Bible Versions that I thought I would pass along to you. WHICH BIBLE VERSION "The story is told of four ministers discussing the pros and cons of various Bible translations and paraphrases. Eventually each stated which version, in his opinion, is the best. The first minister said he used the King James because the Old English style is beautiful and produces the most reverent picture of the Holy Scriptures. The second said he preferred the New American Standard Bible because he felt it comes nearer to the original Greek and Hebrew texts. The third minister said his favorite was the paraphrased Living Bible because his congregation was young, and it related to them in a practical way. All three men waited while the fourth minister sat silently. Finally he said, "I guess when it comes to translations and paraphrased editions of the Bible, I like my Dad's translation best. He put the Word of God into practice every day. It was the most convincing translation I've ever seen." P.S. I agree with Tim Moran that the KJV is a very good translation, and in fact was the only one I preferred to use in the early stages of my faith in Christ Jesus. These days I prefer to use the NASB, but I also enjoy the NIV and the NKJV as well. Also, when I first came to faith in Christ it was through reading the Living Bible (which is just a paraphrase) But nevertheless, God used that simplistic paraphrased translation to bring to Himself. So I must ask; can God bridge the translation barrier, and draw lost souls to Himself? Once I became saved, I began using only the KJV. I still use it to this day, but not exclusively. As Tim Moran stated to you. The authors of the KJV of long ago, did not have all the manuscripts as well as archeological findings as evidence, that are now have become available to us. So please take that into consideration if you would. Blessings New Creature |

Ken John The short story was an illustrated story, and the father mentioned in the illustration was not my father. Blessings New Creature |

KJ; What would I possibly need to forgive my father about? My own physical father was never mentioned in any of my posts. Once again the story was merely an illustration used to convey a point. The people in the story were figurative and not actual. P.S. Great verse Blessings New Creature |

149 | the way to Heaven through habitual sin? | Bible general Archive 2 | New Creature | 110672
I had a conversation with a gentleman in the local coffe shop last night. I spoke about him in the previous question. see; ("I am not the one sinning") As we were talking about Scripture, he told me that if a Christian continues in habitual sin, then the Lord will take him home rather than let him remain on earth in a life of sin. He said the individual will lose rewards and his works will be burnt up. So my question is two fold. Would you have agreed with this individual? If not, how would you have reasoned to him from God's word? Using the logic that this person used, I can see some actually desiring to continue in a life of sin, since the Lord may possibly take him home sooner. I can't see where this teaching produces the life that pleases our Lord. It seems to me that this teaching might be labeled "antinomianism" What do you think? Awaiting your thoughts Blessings New Creature |

makarios the individual never stressed the fact that God's word clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an excuse for sinful living, nor did he elude to it in any form. I only heard him attempt to give license to sin. Blessings New Creature |

Makarios; I agree. I just wanted to see how others in the forum would respond. I personally do not see where our Christian liberty gives us license to continue in a life-style of habitual sin. The antinomians however do believe we have a license to sin. For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. (Jude 1:4 NIV) Thanks for your sincere reply. I do respect your thoughts in this forum, even if we disagree in other areas, or about other questions that arise in this forum. Blessings to you New Creature |

churchladies; While I don't claim to be an authority on this subject, my thought is: How can faith possibly be demonstrated in the act of suicide. And Secondly, do you think that this would be God's leading for any individual? Thirdly if the Bible says; "Thou shall not kill" then isn't the taking of ones own life a violation of this command? Wouldn't that demostrate a lack of faith and trust in God? (Just something to think about) I would advise anyone considering taking their own life to seek counseling. Blessings New Creature |

tgc; I noticed in the order you listed the events, you placed regeneration last. That makes me wonder how you would define regeneration, and secondly is regeneration something we as individuals are passive or active in? New Creature |
