24 | How old was Mary | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202024
Bible doesn't say. She could of been 13, 14, 15, 16, etc. The best we can do is make a guess based on the customs of the time, which would make her a teenager, but no one can say for sure. Brad |

25 | is there any difference between a 'God f | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202079
Yes, no, and maybe. Depend on what context you are using the phrase 'God fearing'. In the past and still at times today, it is/was used as a term to indicate a "Christian" person. In the modern use of the term, people will say they are 'God fearing' but do not have the personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is there a particular verse you are lookig at or just the broad use of the statement in modern life? Brad |

27 | How do I forgive adultry if it continues | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202103
TJS, first I would like to welcome you to the forum. Reading your post, you are asking about the sin of adultery. Before I even attempt to discuss that topic, I'm concerned about a statement you made. "I never forgave her for the adultery" You have been deeply hurt by this act and have personally experienced how destructive sin can be, not only to an individual, but to a whole family. Forgiveness is a key part in this issue. We are told by the Bible that we are to forgive those that sin against us. COL 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. MT 6:14 “ For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. MT 6:15 “But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. MK 11:25 “Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions. Once you have worked through the forgiveness, then the healing can start to take place. I would encourage you to seek some counseling from a Godly Pastor. Finding condemnation for your ex-wife will not solve the issues you are dealing with. Only the healing of the Holy Spirit working to mend a broken, trampled on heart can help you find the joy of Christ. Brad |

28 | What does the bible say? | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202322
Welcome to the forum! The Bible is God's word to man. The some of the important parts: 1) We are sinners (Romans 3:23) 2) God loves us (John 3:16) 3) Jesus saves (Romans 10:9) That is the mile high overview. Yet the Bible has so much more, from the fall of man (sin entering the world) to the redemption of man (via Jesus Christ) to the final judgment and everything in between. Attempting to summarize everything in the Bible in one post would not do the Bible justice. Volumes have been written. Many, many topics have been discussed and can be searched by using the search feature on the right side of the screen. Is there key topic(s) you are interested in? May God bless you as you study and grow in His word. Brad 2TI 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 2TI 3:17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. |

31 | Meaning of day in the bible | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202581
This is where you handy dandy concordance comes into play. The word 'day' is 'yom' in the Old Testament. yom (398a); a prim. root; day:--afternoon*(1), age(8), age*(1), all(1), always*(14), amount*(2), battle(1), birthday*(1), Chronicles*(38), completely*(1), continually*(14), course*(1), daily(22), daily the days(1), day(1115), day of the days(1), day that the period(1), day's(6), day's every day(1), daylight*(1), days(635), days on the day(1), days to day(1), days you shall daily(1), days ago(1), days'(11), each(1), each day(4), entire(2), eternity(1), evening*(1), ever in your life*(1), every day(2), fate(1), first(5), forever*(11), forevermore*(1), full(5), full year(1), future*(1), holiday*(3), later*(2), length(1), life(12), life*(1), lifetime(2), lifetime*(1), live(1), long(2), long as i live(1), long*(11), midday*(1), now(5), older*(1), once(2), period(3), perpetually*(2), present(1), recently(1), reigns(1), ripe*(1), short-lived*(1), so long*(1), some time(1), survived*(2), time(45), time*(1), times*(2), today(172), today*(1), usual(1), very old*(1), when(10), when the days(1), whenever(1), while(3), whole(2), year(10), yearly(5), years(13), yesterday*(1). As you can see it also has been translated in other ways. The word 'day' (Strongs# 3117) in Genesis 1:5, 8, 13, 14, 16, 18 (to list a few) is the same as Joshua 6;14, 15, 25. (Note Joshua 6:15 does have one 'day' based on mochoratham (Strongs# 4283)) Hopes this help. I would recommend getting a hold of a good concordance and it will help with word searches like this. 33 | RESTRICTIVE KINGDOM | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202895

34 | Prophet touched on the rib by God? | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202972
I'm not aware of one. The only rib story that comes to mind is the Adam and creation of Eve. If my memory serves me correctly (which it has mislead me before) I think Islam refers to Adam as a prophet and this might be where you are hearing this terminology. To the best of my knowledge, it is not in the Holy Scriptures. Brad |

35 | Prophet touched on the rib by God? | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202976
Interesting, I don't know what is more interesting, the fact I remembered something correctly or the definition of prophet. I always thought of a 'prophet' as someone who was writing or saying inspired words from God. Never really thought of it as someone that has had a direct communication from God. So does that mean everyone Jesus talked to in the New Testament is a ‘prophet’? (There I go thinking too much again.) Thanks for the info, Brad |

36 | Prophet touched on the rib by God? | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202983
Not a problem, I'm just glad we got it all figured out. You brought up an interesting point that we have been dealing with in our Wednesday evening Bible Study and that is dealing with translations and the correct interpretation of the Bible. Anyway, I could go on, but I guess I should get back to work. Brad |

37 | Prophet touched on the rib by God? | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202984
I don't think most (myself included in that category not long ago) how subtle little changes in the way you phrase something can make a huge difference in what it truly means or how the meaning can be changed. I think many good Christian people who are trying to live by the Bible don't completely understand how important that we make sure we understand and grasp the meaning of the Bible and not try to make the Bible mean what we want it to. Our Pastor has such a passion for this and I'm very thankful that he does, because up to six months ago I wouldn't have approached the Word of God in that manner. I still have ALOT to learn and I'm excited! A week doesn't go by without me learning something new. Now I have to get back to work. Brad |
