25 | Seeing things? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 200063
Greetings, How does one actually differentiate between a vision and a dream? Be that as it may, if it is contrary to what is stated in Scripture it is in opposition to the Word of God and it can’t be truth even though the experience might have been very real to the one having the vision or dream. At any rate it’s a good opportunity to witness for the Lord to the person if they don’t know Christ personally. Matthew 22:44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? Scripture states that Christ is still “seated” at the right of the Father. Scripture does point out that a believer was escorted when he left this life but the escorts are angels and it doesn’t say if this is always the case with believers. Luke 16:22 (A) So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. My understanding, CDBJ |

27 | all of old testament that is in the new | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 200732
Greetings RosaLee and welcome to the forum. Suppose, as the Old Testament affirms; there is a priceless treasure waiting for “you personally”. Would you like to have the exact location and instructions to that treasure, as the New Testament point out? Matthew 13:44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 28 | any verses show ethical business profit? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 200762
I believe if you would come up with a Bible based question there would be many who would be willing to answer your questions along those lines. I’ll start with an example; Have you come to the point yet in your spiritual understanding that you know “for sure”, that after this life, you will have an everlasting life in God’s presence? John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. 30 | How has Judaism influenced Christianity? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 201470
Greetings and welcome to the forum. Judaism has affected and influenced “this Christian” very, very much; I’ve got their Messiah and the majority of Judaism doesn’t even know it! John 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. Matthew 23:37-39 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. 39For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. 31 | How do I forgive adultry if it continues | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 202105
Greetings TJS and welcome to the forum. That sounds like a very involved situation to say the least. Cutting to the chase, as it were, but in order to better direct the proper answer to you, it would help if you could explain something that only you have the answer to. Where do you personally stand right now at this point in time with regards to your eternal future? Putting it another way; if you were to die today do you “know positively” without a shadow of doubt that you would be ushered into the presents of the Lord to spend eternity? Let’s say, just as an example; if you were to stand before God in the next few minutes and the Lord were to say to you, why should I let you come into my kingdom, what do you think you would tell Him? This is usually a way to see just how you personally understand repentance for a starting place. I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

34 | who is truly saved? How can we be sure | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 206676
That sounds like a legitimate question from a human view point but tell me this; what sin didn’t Jesus die for? The only thing that can condemn a person is failure to have complete trust in Jesus and what He did on the cross for us! John 3:18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." John 1:11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: Keep trusting in the finished work of Christ. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast. Have a great day, CDBJ |

35 | Purpose of Tree of LIfe in New Jerusalem | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 208212
That is another confusing issue that I have and I don’t have the answer at this point in time but if I ever figure it out, while still on this side of the grass, I will let you know. There isn’t a lot of time left now at my age to resolve all the finer point of doctrine. I’m just about to the stage where I’m afraid to buy green bananas, but by the grace of God I surer like studying His precious word and trying to figure out how points of scripture all fit to form the perfect plan that God has laid out. I’ll be 497 years old on my next birthday, in dog years. Have fun, CDBJ |

36 | How many Gods | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 209733
Greetings and welcome to the forum. What does it mean when the Bible says God is one? (Excerpts from pastor R.B. Thieme Jr.) i.e. the “oneness” of God. From Name the characteristics of God; God is: 1. Sovereignty, -- superior will, i.e. over and above all others. 2. Righteousness, 3. Justice, - God’s Righteousness and Justice make up His Holiness. 4. Love, 5. Eternal Life; “Technically speaking”, no beginning or end as compared to everlasting life that is provided by God for man. 6. Omniscience, Omni - meaning -- “all knowing” 7. Omnipresence, ----------------------- “all present 8. Omnipotence, ----------------------- “all powerful 9. Immutability, -- Constancy or the ability to never change. 10. Veracity, ---- Absolute truth, always trustworthy, without error. This list isn’t complete but it pretty well explains what God is like in essence. In this sense the Bible tells us that God is one. There is no one else in existence, other then God, that has ”all of these special” characteristics! We can say therefore, that “in essence”, God is one; there is no other like God. i.e. God is the only one that exist that has these essence, if anyone could display all of these essence, they would in fact be God, plain pure and maybe not so simple, but true. The Bible points out that there are in fact actually three “distinct” and “separate personalities” in existence, and “each personality” exhibits “all” of these essences or characteristic, as God. The Bible describes them as, “first person” or The Father, “the second person” or The Son, and “third person” or The Holy Spirit. When the Bible speaks of God as being “One” it’s a reference to His essence, but when it expresses “Three” it’s a reference to the distinct and separate personalities that contain all of these exact same essence. I hope you enjoy the forum. CDBJ |

Greetings Dashel, Reading the Bible is a noble thing to do but the strange part is that it’s nearly impossible to understand the Old Testament with out the understanding of the key that is found in the New Testament. The Bible, as a collection of books, can not be understood with what we call human IQ. God the Holy Spirit has to be the one that educates people to the truth contained in Scripture by bringing their human spirit to life for the cognition of spiritual truth contained in Scripture. 1 Cor. 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." The word “see” in the following verse carries the connotation of perception or understanding. My Advice would be to start in the New Testament at the book of Mathew and read at least through to the book of Revelation before attempting to read any of the Old Testament. Have a great day, CDBJ |
