44 | continued pursuit, or saving faith | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 213710
Greetings Beja, I believe the verse in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. The word "cometh" in the first half of the verse is the Koine Greek word (proserchomai). The preposition (pros) at the first of the word designates going toward God. The word is used in the present tense, those coming now, and in the middle voice, which means that the one coming is participates in the action of the verb and the accusative case, it is caused. This would apply to the doctrine of God actually calling the one coming. This gets one started in the right direction with their faith. Once the put their FAITH in the one God appointed, Jesus God’s Son, they become a new creature able to grow further in the knowledge of just who Jesus is. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. This is impossible apart from having a living spirit, which is given at the point of salvation to live the spiritual way of life. 1 Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Faith doesn’t actually grow, as it were, but the content of our faith increases as we learn more and more about the Living Word and the written Word and it’s all a function of God’s matchless grace. My take on the subject, CDBJ |

46 | can a child be baptised | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 216690
Greetings, The Bible does not say one way or the other in regards to this situation but what it does say is this. Acts 8:26-40 But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, "Arise and go south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza." (This is a desert road.) 27And he arose and went; and behold, there was an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure; and he had come to Jerusalem to worship. 28And he was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29And the Spirit said to Philip, "Go up and join this chariot." 30And when Philip had run up, he heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?" 31And he said, "Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?" And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32Now the passage of Scripture which he was reading was this: "HE WAS LED AS A SHEEP TO SLAUGHTER; AND AS A LAMB BEFORE ITS SHEARER IS SILENT, SO HE DOES NOT OPEN HIS MOUTH. 33"IN HUMILIATION HIS JUDGMENT WAS TAKEN AWAY; WHO SHALL RELATE HIS GENERATION? FOR HIS LIFE IS REMOVED FROM THE EARTH." 34And the eunuch answered Philip and said, "Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself, or of someone else?" 35And Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. 36And as they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?" 37[And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."] 38And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch; and he baptized him. 39And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch saw him no more, but went on his way rejoicing. 40But Philip found himself at Azotus; and as he passed through he kept preaching the gospel to all the cities, until he came to Caesarea. The key to when a person should be baptized is found in verses 36 and 37. When anyone believes that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God nothing then should hinder him or her from being baptized. This critical point of information may come at different craniological ages in a person’s life. An infant does not have the ability to understand this critical point of doctrine. To baptize an infant would be like plugging an appliance into a receptacle that isn’t connected to the power source, until certain conditions are met it is useless and not according to God’s protocol. Trusting in Jesus as ones Saviour and knowing that He is God’s Son is paramount to baptism. "If you believe with all your heart, you may." Have a great day, CDBJ |

47 | causes of persecution in century church | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 216829
Greetings, The answer to your question is the same exact thing that will cause it in the final century church only it will be worse. Rev. 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Rev. 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Rev. 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. CDBJ |

49 | "An eye for an eye" relevant now? how? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 217225
Greetings and welcome to the forum. My wife and I were just talking about this verse today over dinner. It is my understanding that the “eyes have it verse” is more along the judicial lines. Have you ever considered that the Jews of old didn’t have prisons, hum? My wife was reading from the Sunday’s paper where a man poured nitric acid all over his wife with the intention of killing her. He only received 12 years as a punishment and she is still very miserable though alive. I wonder what kind of a deterrent it would be, using the Lords advice with regards to such capitol crimes; I’ll bet the next idiot would think twice after witnessing such a retaliation in the judicial system! When ever we try to diminishing what God has commanded to be done we always end up paying the price in the long run. The Lord is always right even if it doesn’t quite fit into our program or frame of mind. The bleeding hearts have set things in motion that won’t be set right until the Lord’s wrath is poured out in full measure. Rev. 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 50 | Are there different judgments? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 217330
This is a dividing judgment for those that are left, very few, on the Earth after God pours out His wrath of destruction by fire, before He sets up His Earthly Kingdom. This is the Judgment before Christ 1000 Year reign is established. The judgment of; Rev. 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. This is the final judgment where the eternal abode for all those who haven’t believed in Christ is consummated. Hell, as we know it, is but a temporary place of confinement holding in reserve the unbelievers that have rejected God’s plan for eternal life in Christ. Those condemned at the white throne judgment will enter their final abode, which was actually prepared for the disobedient angles including Satan and one third of his following angles. Those in Hell will experience a second separation from the presence of God with a resurrected body that can never be destroyed but will constantly be going through the process! All judgment mentioned in the Bible take place with the Son, Jesus Christ, residing as judge on the bench of authority. John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. Have a great day, CDBJ |

52 | why kill everyone if you a God of love? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 218169
Greetings, That is because God is all knowing and He knew from His omniscience that the “beautiful loving terrorist” that we have today would come down to us from the ones that “weren’t” killed when God commanded the Israelites to do so. Now because of them, not being obedient to the command of God, we have to reap the results for what they didn’t do properly! Man can never be disobedient toward an all loving and understanding God and come out on top. If the Israelites of years gone by had done what they were told and killed “ALL” that God commanded we might not of had the situation that occurred on 9/11. Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. It doesn’t pay to try and out think the Lord when it comes to our well being. Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Even today people are trying to devise their own means of salvation instead of relying on what God has already done for them in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 1:11-12 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Have a great day, CDBJ |

54 | Correct Understanding of verses? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 219203
Greetings, When one mentions the law with regards to the Bible, few fail to notice that the Law of the Old Testament was broken up into parts known as, Codex number one, Codex number two and Codex number three. The proceeding covered all of the areas of the following and it is all considered the Law. Moral code, Social code and the Ceremonial code. Excerpts from (bible.com) The Law of Moses Given to Israel The Mosaic Law is what we are most concerned about in relation to the New Testament believer. This consisted of 365 negative commands and 248 positive for a total of 613 commands. These may also be divided into three parts or sections (see below)—the moral, the social, and the ceremonial. As such, it covered every possible area of the life of Israel. It should be stressed that the moral principles embodied in the Mosaic Law given at Sinai were merely the codified expression of the eternal moral law of God as it was given to Israel to govern her life as a nation in order to experience God’s blessing under the Abrahamic covenant. For more on this aspect, see below. CDBJ |

55 | how I can Eat God's Words? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 219266
Welcome to the forum. The verse in Jer. Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. This is literally the intake of God Word Scripture. The word in the Hebrew for eat is as follows from (STRONG’S) 'akal, Hebrew 398, Strong’s 'akal, aw-kal'; a primitive root; to eat (literal or figurative) at all, burn up, consume, devour (-er, up), dine, eat (-er, up), feed (with), food, freely, in...wise (-deed, plenty), (lay) meat, quite. Before this is accomplished, one must be reborn of the Spirit. Have you come to this point yet in your spiritual walk? Jesus said the following which ties into the verse in Jeremiah. Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. That’s the intake of God’s word on a daily basis in order to sustain the new birth that God gives to those that put all of their hope for eternal life in the one that God sent; Jesus Christ, God’s uniquely born Son. Have a great day and enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

Greetings Behumble and welcome to the forum. It’s been somewhat of an unwritten rule that the forum members shy away from answering questions that are proposed by those that are trying to acquire an education in Bible classes or seminary classes. The object of the classes is to teach students how to dig out biblical answers from Scripture on their own not receive help from a worldwide network of Christians from a forum. 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. Don’t you think that’s a little bit on the shady side? CDBJ |

59 | Explanation of Ezekiel 44 | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 220477
This might help; it’s from the (Bible Knowledge Commentary). The temple ministers (chap. 44) 44:1-3. Ezekiel had been standing in the inner court of the temple, receiving instructions about the altar there (43:5). Now he was led out of the inner court to the east gate of the outer court, and it was shut. This gate at the outer court opened toward the Kidron Valley and the Mount of Olives. Ezekiel had just seen the Lord enter it on His return to His temple (43:4). God’s presence had hallowed the gate. Therefore it is to remain shut because the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered through it. No one else will be allowed to tread through the gate which God Himself had entered. Some have thought that the “Golden Gate” of Jerusalem, now sealed, is the gate spoken of here. However, the dimensions of the “Golden Gate” do not correspond with Ezekiel’s gate, which is still future. Only one person will be allowed to enter through the east gate complex: the prince himself (cf. 46:2). This prince has already been identified as King David (cf. 34:24; 37:24-25). He will be allowed to eat in the gate, possibly referring to the fellowship offerings which the worshipers will eat after offering them to the Lord (cf. Lev. 7:15-21). The portico (vestibule) faces the outer court (see the eastern G1 in the sketch “The Millennial Temple,” near Ezek. 40:1-4), so David, going east, will enter the gate complex from the outer court.
