Dear Brother Tim, Please accept my apology. It was never and will never be my intent to drag any one into a disagreement or debate. I probably got a little carried away in my post to you, again, not directed at you. Please, dear brother, know that I am sorry if you felt challenged on this subject. 203 | Easter questions | Ex 12:2 | Cyclist | 37383
Brother Tim, You are welcome to jump in on any question, answer, or note that I post to the forum. Thank you for doing so. Should I disregard the KJV? My family has always celebrated the easter holiday with prayer and worship to Jesus and with easter eggs. I have always stressed to them that it is the celebration of Jesus being raised from the dead. My family knows and understands this. After reading some of the postings I must admit that I feel a little ashamed for allowing my children to color eggs at easter time. I know that those who posted these comments are not God and cannot judge anyone, no offense intended, but I would like to see, if you are willing, some more comments with regard to the easter holiday and the coloring of easter eggs, etc... Comments from you as believers with me in Jesus are important to me. That is why I am part of this forum. Please read the following scriptures. How did Paul become as those without law? How did he become as those that are weak? Are these scriptures that do not apply to the subject matter of the original posting about easter? 1 Cor 9:19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may win more. 1 Cor 9:20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, so that I might win Jews; to those who are under the Law, as under the Law though not being myself under the Law, so that I might win those who are under the Law; 1 Cor 9:21 to those who are without law, as without law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, so that I might win those who are without law. 1 Cor 9:22 To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means save some. 1 Cor 9:23 I do all things for the sake of the gospel, so that I may become a fellow partaker of it. Mommapbs, Emmaus, wannabe, angel1, Good day to you! This is the day that the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! Any comment on the different wording in the KJV / NASB versions; Acts 12:4 KJV "easter" / NASB "passover". I've spent most all of my Christian life in the KJV. I do agree that there should be a celebration, every day, of Christ's resurection! I have a reputation of being a zealous person though. King James Version Acts 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. NASB Acts 12:4 When he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him to four (1) squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after (2) the Passover to bring him out before the people. Dear brother in Christ, Tim Moran, Thank you for taking time and giving attention to this subjest of baptism. I was baptized after being saved (having the born again experience). Those whom the Lord used to lead me to him stressed to me the importance of repentance, excepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and transformation by the renewing of my mind. It wasn't until about 1 year after salvation that I was baptized. I attended a small church at that time and was baptized in a lake. It was a wonderful experience! Even though we may view this as a work, I enjoyed it as an unexplainable experience. I was filled with the joy of the Lord! I think that I had a wonderful baptismal experience and would recomend to every one that they view baptism as bonding with Christ. A "work" that is rewarding! This is my final post on this subject. Thanks to all of you who helped me to learn more about baptism; RAVEN, John Reformed, Hank, tuli, Emmaus, wordoer, Reformer Joe, Eagleone, and childoftheking. You have helped me grow! God Bless each one of you! Your brother always in Christ Jesus, Cyclist |

Dear Tim Moran, Does the following passage relate to our discussion? Is baptism showing our faith by works? James 2:18 But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works." 2 James 2:20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? 3 James 2:26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead. RAVEN, According to your comments belief alone will not save us, baptism is required, and, I will assume that baptism without beleif will not save us either. Not to get into "trifles" but, Does "deathbed" salvation not exist? Again, not a challenge, I am just eager to learn. Rev 21:6 Then He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. Rev 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost. In Him, Cyclist |

Dear beleivers with me in Christ Jesus, Thank you for all of the input on the subject of baptism. From all of the postings I've reached the understanding, and correct me if I am wrong, that the only way to obtain salvation in by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism is necessary for those who beleive in Christ and learn, being taught from the Word of God, that baptism is an act of washing away of sins and that it is done in the name of Jesus. In my search on this subject I found this passage. I thought it was interesting that it was necessary for these to be "re-baptized" in the name of Jesus. What does this mean? If it seems that I'm dragging this subject on, I apoligize, but I would appreciate any comments from the forum. Acts 19:1 It happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus, and found some disciples. Acts 19:2 He said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said to him, "No, we have not even heard whether there is a Holy Spirit." Acts 19:3 And he said, "Into what then were you baptized?" And they said, "Into John's baptism." Acts 19:4 Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus." Acts 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying. Jesus is alive, the same yesterday, today, and forever! 212 | prayon, would you please? | Gen 6:1 | Cyclist | 35491
Searcher56, Please forgive me. It seems as though my question may have appeared offensive in some way. Please understand that it was not meant to be that way. In the post by Makarios on 2/20 at 3:30 AM I recieved the scripture information that was needed for me to understand that angels cannot not reproduce with humans. Please bear with me as I attempt to explain why I even asked this question because it is important to me that the forum understand my intentions. I have been a "back woods" Christian for many years. In other words, I have had very limited access to such wonderful learning tools as the forum. It is important to me that I study and learn as much as possible about the Word of GOD so that when I share with with others I understand what I am sharing, whether it be salvation through Jesus Christ or events in the Old Testament. On this particular subject for example I have always told others, when they ask, that the sons of GOD were fallen angels. Apparently I have been wrong. This concerns me! I want to go to them and correct what I have told them! Since I cannot, I will pray that the right information is revealed to them. This is my purpose in the forum. If I seem imature in the knowledge of the Bible and in the wording of the questions or answers that I post, I am truely sorry. In addition, If my reason for involvement with the forum is a waste of the Saints' time then please direct me to a web sight that would provide teachings to me that are geared more toward my purpose. I do not want to waste anyone's time and especially do not want to offend any of GOD's wonderful children. From now on if I have questions regarding a subject that is posted I will do a search on it before posting a question, answering a question, or following up with a note. prayon, I hope that you read this note. I Love you in Christ Jesus. If I've offended you in any way please know that I am truely sorry. LOVE IN JESUS CHRIST, my LORD and SAVIOR, Cyclist |

Dear Brother Tim Sheasby, Thank you so very much for this posting (COL 2:20-3:4)!! Through the word of GOD this matter has been put to rest for me. I have been following this subject since the first posting on 2/13/02 at 4:55 AM and, I must admit, have been a little troubled by some of the postings. Not by the scriptures or factual information but by the failure to edify and uplift one another in some of the postings. Not that I am speaking out against any brothers or sisters in the Lord for I have read some postings from most of you on subjects that I have searched in the forum and have been edified and uplifted. THANK YOU for seeking guidence from GOD and His Word! GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU! Cyclist |
