182 | Essence of lesson of Job? | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 40618
Hello dskander! All praise and glory and honor be to God our Father! and, to His Son Jesus Christ who died for our sins! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! you write: also to have confidence in your self to speak with him, argue with him as your friend. Could you please clarify your answer. How does your answer relate to the scriptures below? It appears that you are stating that it is nessecary to have confidence in the flesh. Phil 3:3 for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh, Rom 9:19 You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?" Rom 9:20 On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, "Why did you make me like this," will it? 184 | What is a Christian? | Luke 9:32 | Cyclist | 39964
Dear JdthCstl, Praise be to God our Father who provided salvation to me through His Son Jesus Christ! For I could not have been saved through my works because, naturally, I did not want to live by the Holy Spirit but by those things which are the desires of the flesh, which are naturally against the Spirit. I am writing to you as one who is presently weaker in the faith, weaker, I mean, when compared to those that God has chosen to provide spiritual guidance for me, which are those members of this forum, Mommapbs, Tim Moran, Hank, EdB, John Reformed, and others I'm sure that I have failed to mention but do not esteem myself above them with regard to strentgh in the faith. I must admit Judith that I, again, as weaker than those others in the faith, am afraid for you. In addition, I would ask, not that I am any one in authority to ask this, that you please pray that God lead you to the truth in salvation which is provided only through faith in Jesus. I have listed the scriptures below, as one weaker in the faith than those I mentioned earlier, because I am concerned for you in your understanding of salvation. Praise you Jesus, You alone are Savior and Lord! In Christ, Cyclist Gal 1:6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; Gal 1:7 which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. Gal 1:8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! Gal 1:9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed! |

Dear Brother John, All praise and glory and honor be to GOD our Father who created all things for His pleasure! While I have breath, I shall praise the LORD! Thanks for the welcome back. Congradulations on the new addition to your family! God blessed us with a new grand daighter 4 months ago. Being a grandparent is a true blessing! I have enjoyed sharing with you on this subject, in fact, I continued on in the Word of GOD and recieved more understanding through the Word (Eph. 1:3,4,5) and your posts, of the which I thank you for. Thank you for taking time with me on this. You are a true brother in Christ. I've reached a new level of convidence and boldness in the Holy Spirit that I had not known before through this discussion. Not confidence in myself, God forbid! for there is no confidence in the flesh, but the confidence that God is in control and has predestinated everything! There is apsolutely nothing that He does not know or see or hear, and, that He has not preordained. Lord please forgive me of any former doubts, I do repent! Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, Eph 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love Eph 1:5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, Thank you again my brother. I eagerly look forward to sharing further with you on the forum in other areas. I'm so glad that I'm a part of the family of GOD, joint heirs with Jesus, cleansed by His blood. Praise be GOD, and to His Son Jesus Christ whom He predestined to die for our sins. God's blessings to you and your family. Always, your brother in Christ, Cyclist |

186 | The Gospel the sole means of salvation? | Rom 1:16 | Cyclist | 39729
Brother John Reformed, Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD! Praise ye the LORD! Thank you for posting that hymn. I've sung it meself several times but never really took time to understand it, until now. I've read your posting to me 4 times now. I've read Romans 9,10,11 twice through, very slowly so I could absorb it. I've listened to Romans 8,9,10,11 in my car, I have the KJV on CD, on the way to the office and I will listen on the way home. You post "Nevertheless God preordains what soever happens." and "Every one who God elected unto salvation from the beginning will be saved." I have 2 questions that are presented to increase my understanding and not to challenge you, and, certainly not the LORD my GOD. 1 Does God change his plans along the way? 1 Chr 21:15 And God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it; but as he was about to destroy it, the LORD saw and was sorry over the calamity, and said to the destroying angel, "It is enough; now relax your hand." And the angel of the LORD was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. Amos 7:6 The LORD changed His mind about this. "This too shall not be," said the Lord GOD. Jonah 3:10 When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their wicked way, then God relented concerning the calamity which He had declared He would bring upon them. And He did not do it. 2 Would you please give more detail, if possible, on your interpretation of Romans 9? If I understand correctly from the point you made in your post, God is raising up the anti-Christ for His purpose as he did pharaoh, and, God raised up satan for His purpose. Scripture reference would help. I must go out of town tomorrow on business so I will look for your posting on Friday 3/22. Always your brother in Christ Jesus, my Savior and my Lord. I love Him! 188 | The Gospel the sole means of salvation? | Rom 1:16 | Cyclist | 39598
Brother John, Give thanks to the LORD! He is good! His mercy endures forever! Bear with me brother John, I always enjoy giving praise to God before making my point. It usually has nothing to do with the point that I am going to make. I just cannot contain it! I don't go around the office running and shouting nor do I in public, although I do inwardly. Anyway, Good point. I'm eager to see any additional postings on this subject. In Jesus, Cyclist |

190 | Is our dress a reflection of our heart? | Bible general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 39098
CDBJ and Mommapbs, To the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever! Mommapbs, There was a tug in my heart when I read your post about your son. Is all well? I would be very happy to pray with you at any time about any thing. My e-mail address is in my profile. I read your posts about the way we dress and is it a reflection of our heart. Memory fails me with regard to scripture at this time but I would like to comment on this and maybe the scripture I've attached would be helpful. (KJV) Col 3:23, 24 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. I believe with you that we need to search our hearts when we dress. If we are doing everything as unto the Lord then I shall dress acceptable before the Lord each day! Not to please man or women. This does not me that I will wear worn clothing to my office, I am a manger. I wear that which is acceptable to my business. Just to share a story about dressing in the house of God: There was a woman, about 30 years of age, that attend our Sunday school class. She would wear tight dresses and one time she wore a dress with very thin shoulder straps with a very thin or no bra. The reason I and others knew that this is because she was cold, get the idea. Well, men are men, and men are weak sometimes in this area, and men were looking. It was an uncomfortable situation. I'm not judging her, I'm just sharing this to point out that if dress as men/women pleasers we distract ourselves and others from the Lord's service. Always your brother in Christ Jesus whom I love with my whole heart! Cyclist |

193 | One more time, "fallen away"? | Mark 4:16 | Cyclist | 39006
Hi tuli! From the rising of the sun to its setting The name of the LORD is to be praised! He put a new song in my mouth! Please accept my apology for taking so long to get back to you with a response. I am in upper level management at my job and it has become very demanding of my time recently. I would like to discuss this with you though. Please bear with me and I would appreciate it if you would post any thoughts that you have on the subject you presented. One more thing about this subject of loss of salvation, and this is from the Old Testament: Ps 3:2 Many are saying of my soul, "There is no deliverance for him in God." Selah. Ps 3:3 But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head. Will try to get back to you soon. Always your brother in Christ, Cyclist Jesus is Lord! His love never fails! |

Hank, Thank you! Your level of maturity as a Christian far exceeds mine! I will catch up though! There is one thing about searching in the forum that hinders me. I usually desire to read all postings and it becomes very time consuming because one must click on every posting to read it. It would be great to be able to view all postings at once. Even though one would need to flip through pages it would still be less time consuming. I look forward to reading your postings. No need to respond. Cyclist |

196 | Hebrews 6:6 explained | NT general Archive 1 | Cyclist | 38618
Dear Seacher56 and Hank, Praise God for that Great things he has done! You are right, Heb 6:6 and fallen away have been discussed many times. I'm sorry if the postings and repostings on these subjects bother you. Some of us are probably not as knowledgable of the scriptures as you are, and , certainly my vocabulary is not as good as Hanks. Very impressive Hank! If any of my posts are not worthy of response by either of you, simply do not respond, however, I have learned much from previous postings by both of you. I've posted a few verses of scripture for you. Please be patient with us: Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Are we weaker than you? Please accept and bear with us: Rom 14:1 Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. Rom 15:1 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Please don't grow weary of helping us understand the Bible. I am a part of this forum to grow stronger in Christ: 2 Thess 3:13 But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good. In Christ's Love, Cyclist To God be all glory and honor and praise for ever more! |

197 | One more time, "fallen away"? | Mark 4:16 | Cyclist | 38614
Reformer Joe, Thanks for the welcome back! I will Rejoice in the Lord always! From the rising of the sun to it's going down I will praise the Lord! Thanks for your post in response to my question. I will continue to pray and grieve for our Nation. I am going to go back and read the previous postings on this subject like Searcher56 suggested to me. I've been trying to follow all of the postings on this subject but did not see a posting that actually defined "fallen away" as it is written in Heb 6:6 maybe I missed it in one of the postings. Your brother in Christ, Cyclist |

198 | response to: There is no such scripture | Rom 10:9 | Cyclist | 37590
drummergirl, No need to apologize, I have gotten carried away with my emotions when posting to the forum and have had to be broguht back to my senses. I and probably others have, and still are, experiencing the same problem as you. It is very frustrating! Especialy if it is some one close to us. Here's some more scripture for you: 1 Cor 5:1 It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, that someone has his father's wife. 1 Cor 5:2 You have become arrogant and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst. 1 Cor 5:3 For I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present. 1 Cor 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus, 1 Cor 5:5 I have decided to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 1 Tim 1:18 This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight, 1 Tim 1:19 keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith. 1 Tim 1:20 Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan, so that they will be taught not to blaspheme Heb 10:31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Heb 10:32 But remember the former days, when, after being enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings, Heb 10:33 partly by being made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming sharers with those who were so treated. Heb 10:34 For you showed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted joyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and a lasting one. Heb 10:35 Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. Heb 10:36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. Heb 10:37 FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE, HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY. Heb 10:38 BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH; AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM. Heb 10:39 But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul. In Him, Cyclist |

Mommapbs, Thanks for this information! This is the first time that the origin of these traditions have been explained to me. Col 2:8 is the right verse for this subject. I will also read Job 36:7-12. Imagine, 43 years old and still learning! P.S. angel1 if you read this. I do ride a bicycle 120 miles per week and a motorcycle about 1000 miles per year. Thanks for caring enough to take time for me. Your brother in Christ, Cyclist |
