201 | Do most live by Matthew 7:12? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 177459
Hi GTR and welcome to the forum, I found the same thing as you found in that verse. Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. I’ve learned that the Christian way of life is actually a supernatural way of life and it can’t be accomplished in the energy of the flesh; this is due to the fact that we all have an old sin nature. This old nature residing in us has dooming us for destruction. 1 Cor. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. The Bible, along with its truths, and the way to carry them out, where always very nebulas and abstruse to my way of thinking. But there came a day when I had an actual experience with the living author of the Bible. From that point on, the Bible started making sense to me. The Lord sure can open one’s understanding of the Bible, if they really want to know the truth that it contains, but the key to the Bible resides in one very large portions of truth that must be understood first. John 6:45 (A) It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Understanding the Bible is kind of like doing a math problem, once one knows the formula it’s easy. Have you come to that point yet in your spiritual understanding or are you still working on that part? Have fun and enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

202 | Can pastors retire? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 177670
Hello Azure, No true believer in Christ retires as it were, they just change fields. There are scads of people that cross the paths of those in the body of Christ every day and it’s our privilege as believers to find a way to present the good news about Christ to those we come in contact with. I hope I am able to present to unbelievers, attending me at my death, the way to the precious Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Cor. 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were entreating through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. The only time and ambassador can cease to function as an ambassador is when he is called home. 2 Tim. 2:24-26 And the Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, [25] with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, [26] and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. Talking to people about their need for a savior isn’t work it’s a blessing that God has entrusted us with! CDBJ |

Greetings, Since it’s hard for you to understand how Jesus prayer was recorded in scripture, since he was along in the garden; how do you come up with an explanation about Moses writing the first part of Genesis, since he wasn’t there? 2 Tim. 3:15 (A) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, CDBJ |

204 | I NEED A TRUE FRIEND THAT IS A CHRISTIAN | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 178352
Greetings and welcome to the forum, If you could print in lower case it sure would be easer to read! Please, please don’t list your address on this forum or any other for that matter, it sounds like you have enough problems without doing something that foolish. Have you come to the place yet where you can say for sure that you have eternal life with God if you were to pass away in the next few seconds? I know that’s a scary thought but it will give us a starting point. There is help and it’s in God’s promises, but you “must” believe what God tells you, CDBJ |

209 | what comes first hope or faith | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 180545
Greeting and welcome to the forum, Your answer is Faith and then Hope. Speaking of Jesus; Ephes. 1:9-13 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: [10] That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: [11] In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: [12] That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. [13] In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, The word translated “hope” in the English comes to us from the word ELPIS in the Koine Greek and it actually means confidence or an earnest expectation. This confidence is the work of the Holy Spirit revealing truth to us from God’s Word the Bible, and with out the help of the Holy Spirit it’s impossible to have “hope”. The Holy Spirit doesn’t indwell a person until after they have faith in God’s Son Jesus. Enjoy the forum |

210 | parental responsibility and serving | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 180682
Greetings M-2-4 and welcome to the forum. I know exactly what you are saying and I believe the reason that most parents don’t take on the responsibility and pass on the Good News of the Bible to their children is because they don’t have anything “personally” to pass on; if you get my drift? Physically speaking: If people are starving to death and someone finds a never-ending supply of “free food” that is there for the taking, they would be so overjoyed that they would want to share it with everyone they know including their children. Jesus Christ means more to me then anything else and I appreciate what He personally did for me. I can’t help but share the Word of God with those that I come in contact with. Matthew 5:14-16 (KJV) Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Maybe those that aren’t letting their light shine don’t really have any light? John 4:14 (KJV) But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. The word for “springing up” is translated from the Koine Greek word HALLOMAI, and it means to, jump, spring up, or to gush out. There aren’t many around today that fit that description! Notice in the following verse that they had been with someone; it was evident. The same goes for us when we spend time with God’s written Word. Acts 4:13 (KJV) Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, ------- that they had been with Jesus. 211 | Comforting scriptures and poems | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 180843
Greetings, That is a pain that hast to be horrid! Here is a poem that, I personally, wrote several years ago that you can share with him. A Voice From Beyond I've passed into a better place of which there is no pain. So loved one keep your grieving short, your loss has been my gain. My state is far much better then the one that you behold. It's the hope that I've been looking for in the days when I’d grow old Though grief may oft consume you with thoughts about our past, Life must go, so please be strong, this grieving will not last. This place is awe inspiring, with much array to view. I've been so overwhelmed with it, I've hardly thought of you. My first day on location I was anything but bored, My first known recollection, I was looking at the Lord. The colors are fantastic, beyond your wildest dreams. Ensuing from His throne on high, an emerald rainbow streams. Enough about my bliss for now, the problem's you're forlorn, And how to rectify the day, from which our love was torn. The secret to life’s happiness is not all that absurd. It’s found with-in the Mighty Script of God’s Eternal Word. So keep yourself in hope I ask, make the Bible your main quest, And the Lord will surely comfort you, and put your heart at rest. Make sure my love of which you trust, in abundance of profession. It must be Jesus, not the church, to support your strong confession. Finally love with much ado, use not your loss for scorning. Weeping may endure the night, but joy cometh in the morning. 212 | Hallelujah Bold In NASB? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 181464
Hello and welcome to the forum, I use over fifteen different translations and it’s the same size in all of them. Just to list a few; Rev. 19:1 (NASB) After these things I heard, as it were, a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God; Rev. 19:1 (NIV) After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting: "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, Rev. 19:1 (NLT) After this, I heard the sound of a vast crowd in heaven shouting, "Hallelujah! Salvation is from our God. Glory and power belong to him alone. I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

216 | 1 ass or 2- in jesus triumphal entry | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 182608
Greetings and welcome to the forum, I believe you must have meant, Matthew 21:5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. Matthew 21:7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. The emphasis is only on the one that’s being ridden. Compare Matthew with the following. Zech. 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. If there were two animals mentioned then there surely had to be one. The emphasis is on the one that had never been ridden, not its mother therefore the other gospels didn’t actually go into the details or give all the facts. I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

217 | YE SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 182675
Greetings and welcome to the forum, You question about, John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. It is the same today as it was when Jesus spoke the words. There are more people “assumingly” practicing Christianity now day that are totally oblivious to what true Christianity is all about. i.e. They haven’t really had a real “living experience” with the living Christ! Nicodemus would be a prime example being a Pharisee and knowing the scripture as he did; yet he hadn’t come to the place of the complete dependence on God’s Messiah for eternal life. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. The answer to your question is answered in the very next verse. John 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. The majority of so called Christians today don’t fully understand that eternal life is actually a “gift from God” and is “given as a gift” when one puts “all of their trust and desire” for eternal life in the person of God’s Son, Jesus the appointed one. 218 | Books | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 182939
Greetings and welcome to the forum, There are hundreds of different translations of the Bible and the ones that generally have additional book are primarily found in the Old Testament. The Jews were masters at retaining God’s Word as they have it recorded and as referred to by Christians as the Old Testament. The additional books that you have mention were not accepted as Scripture by the Jews of old but they are historical Jewish writings that are very dear to the Jews, yet they should not to be confused as being Scripture or inspired by God. God Word is the final say wherever and whenever it comes to a doctrinal issue. 2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 1 Tim. 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; I hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

219 | Sign of the end - seasons? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 183059
Greetings T. I think, what you posted is in reference to verse seven in the following but it isn’t suggesting that we won’t know what season it is; Rather, Christ’s answer was a reply to the question of the disciples, “wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?” Acts 1:6-8 . 6When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 220 | How were people saved before Jesus died? | Bible general Archive 3 | CDBJ | 183509
Greetings Michelle123 and welcome to the forum. People that are saved, from the first one to the last one, have been saved all the exact same way and that’s by the mercy of God in action when one trusts in God’s Messiah. The only difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament saints is that we know what His name is, Jesus. They looked forward to His coming and we look back but salvation it still the same. John 8:56-58 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
