181 | Did Adam die lost? | Genesis | prayon | 7155
I believe that Adam went to heaven. In Genesis in the story of Abel and Cain it tells us that Abel obeyed God's teaching by tithing and that he was a good servant. The Lord had regard for him (Gen 4:4b). He also had a great faith as he is the first member of the hall of faith in Hebrews 11. In order for Abel to feel this way and to honor God as he did he had to of been taught about God by Adam. If Adam had taught him this he must of known of God's love and forgiveness. I am sure that Adam, knowing he had done wrong, asked for God's forgiveness and was forgiven because He is a loving and forgiving God. prayon

185 | I need discussion questions from Nahum 3 | Gen 1:1 | prayon | 34084
Greetings! In verse 4 it talks about how Ninevah used its beauty, prestige and power to seduce other nations. She was beautiful on the outside. But on the inside she was vicious and deceitful. Beneath beauty sometimes lies seduction and death. Sometimes we let people seduce us by their beauty and lure us into sin. A lesson in verse 8-10 is that no power on earth can protect us from God's judgement or be a suitable power in our lives. Don't insist on learning through personal experience, instead heed the lessons that history has already taught us. We don't like the idea of being ruled harshly, so we do what we can to stay on good terms with a powerful leader. Deep down we would like that type of power. But power is seductive so we should not scheme to get it. Those who lust after power are always destroyed. Hope this helps some. prayon |

186 | Gen, 1:1-3 Gap theorythe fall?? | Gen 1:1 | prayon | 125601
Greetings and welcome to the forum Empty, There is indeed a theory called the "Gap Theory" that there was a gap of time between Gen 1:1 and 1:2. If the earth was created a fruitful place and then became a wilderness (see Jer 4:23-28) then there could be a gap of time in there. 2Peter 3:4-7 leads some scholars to believe this is indeed true. During this time a pre-Adamic race many have existed on a pre-Adamic earth. In addition Lucifer and his angels may have ruled over the nations. This is very possibly the time of the fall of Lucifer which the bible mentions but never elaborates on. In Gen 1:28 the KJV says to 'replenish' the earth. Gen 1:9 also says to 'replenish' the earth this time referring to the time of Noah. Why did the earth need replenished the first time? Hope this helps. prayon |

188 | please explain proberbs 18:21 | Gen 1:1 | prayon | 145238
Greetings, I just wanted to add one thing to searchers reply. In addition to what he said you can also speak negative things into your life. For example if you continuously say can my car is old and about to break down then pretty soon your car will break down because you have spoken it into existance. But if you say my car is old but it has a lot longer before it is going to stop running, you will be amazed how long that car will last. prayon

190 | the earth was without form, and void; | Gen 1:2 | prayon | 60518
Greetings moji, Without form and void means "Not finished in its shape and as yet not inhabited by creatures". On the first day God spoke and said "Let there be light and there was light". Effortlessly He dispelled the darkness with just that one command showing us that He is in control of everything. I hope this help because I am not sure exactly what you are asking. prayon
191 | How was earth created? | Gen 1:3 | prayon | 61697
Greetings Ahmed and welcome to the forum, The earth in the beginning was without form and void (v2). Then God spoke light into existence. That's all He just opened His mouth and spoke and the elements obeyed Him. For a day by day account see Gen 1:1-2:7. prayon
192 | Was Adam a White Man | Gen 1:26 | prayon | 2780
The only thing that the bible said about Adam was that he was made in God's image. I am not able to find where in the bible it says who even named Adam. In the universal subject guide in my Strongs Concordance it states that Adam means "red earth".

194 | who was isaiah | Gen 2:1 | prayon | 133369
Greetings and welcome to the forum, Isaiah, which means salvation of the Lord, was the son of Amoz and was a prophet to Judah during the reign of 4 kings - Uzziah, Hotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah during the time of the divided kingdom. Isaiah is quoted more than any other prophet in the New Testament. He is sometimes known as the evangelistic prophet and the book of Isaiah is sometimes known as the 5th gospel. The major thrust of his messages was directed to the southern kingdom of Judah. He condemned the empty ritualism of his day, and the idolatry into which so many had fallen. He also gives more prophesies of Christ than any other prophet. He lived until at least 681 BC and met his death under the reign of King Manasseh by being cut into with a wooden saw. 195 | why the need for a sacrifice? | Gen 2:17 | prayon | 34169
Greetings. Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is death. When one sins there must be a death to pay for the sin. God allowed the transference of sin upon the animal and then the animal was sacrificed for our sins. Hope this helps. prayon

198 | New Age Movement new? | Gen 3:5 | prayon | 4718
The New Age Movement is a movement of people based on a complex system of beliefs which supposedly will: Save the planet Change the world into a perfect utopian society Usher in the Age of Aquarius and the Christ The main concept is self worship, that man is the center of all things. It believes in the furtherance of humanity based on what man can do for himself. It teaches you to look INSIDE yourself for enlightenment, wisdom, and power. Man think's he's his own god and that God is whatever you make him to be. Unfortunetly the New Age Movement is the most powerful social force in the country today. The New Age Movement changes or ignores historical facts or data that can or will interfere with the achievement of a goal. They believe that the end justifies the means. "If I am a god how can I be wrong". They believe in having "spiritual experiences" without the cost of repentence of that sin. It is a anti-Christ system based on contact from the spirit worker. Humanism plus spiritualism equals New Age. They do not believe that there is a need to be reconciled with God. They believe that you are not born a sinner and that we are one with God, we are a expression of the God spirit. They believe that you can make the bible say anything you want it to say and the accurate guideline is to ask yourself. There are many different holy books that I will not name but each one is considered a different spiritual path. The 5 major New Age Doctriunes are from Gen 3:1-5: 1) The first seonce, or speaking through another, in history. Satan spoke through the snake in the garden. This was also the birthplace of the occult and the first contact with the spirit realm or transmeditation. 2) Verse 4 also talks about reincarnation, "surely not die". 3) "eyes will be opened"; works equals salvation and God's love. If you can do this your eyes will be opened. 4) Oaths, secret rituals, and societies are to be used. God kept the knowledge of good and evil from us so some things need to be secret. 5) "be like God" - tells us that we can be like God. In bible prophecy they believe in a one world religion, the New World Order and in no national barriers. They believe the real new age is the millenial reign with Jesus. On life they believe we are here to serve and worship Mother Earth - which I understand is one of Al Gore's teachings. They believe that we will come back again and again and again until we get it right. PLEASE NOTE: This information came from a workshop I attended given by Eric Barger of Take A Stand Ministries. It does not focus on any one particular "denomination" but on all in general. |

199 | Gen.3:15 | Gen 3:15 | prayon | 21419
The phrase "you will strike his heel" refers to Satan's repeated attempts to defeat Christ during His life on earth. "He will strike your head" foreshadows Satan's defeat when Christ rose from the dead. A strike on the heel is not deadly but a strike on the head is. Already God was revealing His plan to defeat Satan and offer salvation to the world through His son Jesus. (Life Application Bible) prayon
200 | sons of God? | Gen 3:15 | prayon | 176808
Greetings teresaa, Some believe that the sons of God were the sons of Seth who cohabitated with the daughters of Cain, others suggest that they were maybe human kings who wanted to build harems. Gen 6:1-4 puts emphasis on the fact that they were angels (Job 1:6, 2:1, 38:7) who saw and took wives from the human race which produced a union that violated the God ordained order of human marriage and procreation. The NT places this account in sequence with other Genesis events and identifies it as involving fallen angels who indwelt men (2Pet 2:3-5, Jude 6-8). Hope this helps. prayon |
