Greetings and welcome to the forum! First when you ask a question on the "preview answer" page there is a question that says "Notify me via email when..." Make sure that you have "yes" checked. When your question is answered you will get an email with a link to your question and the answer. Another easy way is to look in the lower left side of the page for "user info". Click on that and it will take you to a page that will tell you how many quesions you have asked. Click on that number and all the questions you have asked will come up. Another way is to type in a key word or the verse in your question in the search box and search for it but there could be 100 replies with that key word or verse in it. Just a note: When you hit the box to submit on the preview page be sure to click only ONE time. If you click more than one time your quesion will be repeated for each click. Enjoy the forum!! prayon |

185 | WAS I THE ONE THAT GOT IT | Bible general Archive 2 | prayon | 126385
Greetings, Even though you initiated the "divorce" proceedings you are not the one responsible. You did nothing to bread up the marriage your spouse did it all. The "divorce" was not the end of your marriage the violence ended your marriage, and the one responsible for the violence is responsible for the end of the marriage. The "divorce" is only in fact a public acknowledgement of the private truth that a marriage has been destroyed by violence. Although I am sure it was a painful process you were only taking the steps necessary to remove you and your child from an destructive and dangerous situation. Hope this answers your question. prayon |

186 | WAS MY IMPORTANT DIVORCE A SIN | Bible general Archive 2 | prayon | 126291
Greetings, Mat 19:6 says "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder" ASV. Any man that brings violence and abuse into his family life is putting asunder the marriage covenant that God has blessed. The violence is what breads up the marriage and the one responsible for that violence is the one responsible for the divorce. YOu committed no sin. Instead you used wisdom. Many people do not understand what it takes to get out of an abuse situation, I do because I have been there and I commmend you. prayon

Greetings Mike, One thing that can have a lot to do with motivation to read the bible is whether you understand what you are reading. If you don't understand what you are reading it can not hold your interest. I suggest the first thing you do is to find a bible that you can enjoy reading. I like the God's Word translation. Another one that is easy to read and understand is the Message Bible. These are just 2 there are many more out there. In addition don't try to over do it. There is no rush. Just read a chapter or 2 a day. There are a few "read the bible in a year" outlines you can also go by. These can help you stay on track. Happy Reading!!! prayon

190 | What did Jesus mean when he said this? | Matthew | prayon | 125989
Greetings, He did this because he knew the life a widower had to live when there was no one to care for them. Mary was a widower and therefore had no one to care for her. It is probable that Joseph, her husband, was long since dead, and that her son Jesus had supported her, and her relation to him had been her maintenance; and now that he was dying what would become of her? Christ tenderly provided for his mother at his death. Christ's example teaches all men to honour their aged parents in life and death; to provide for their wants, and to promote their comfort by every means in their power. prayon I am not sure about the sign of the cross. You will have to ask that question again. |

192 | justification by faith | Heb 10:38 | prayon | 125603
Greetings shael, This is part of a quote from Hab 2:3 - "Hab 2:4 "Look at the proud person. He is not right in himself. But the righteous person will live because of his faithfulness. It probably refers to the same thing. . The sense is, that a persevering confidence or belief in the Lord will preserve us amidst all the trials and calamities to which we are exposed. 194 | Gen, 1:1-3 Gap theorythe fall?? | Gen 1:1 | prayon | 125601
Greetings and welcome to the forum Empty, There is indeed a theory called the "Gap Theory" that there was a gap of time between Gen 1:1 and 1:2. If the earth was created a fruitful place and then became a wilderness (see Jer 4:23-28) then there could be a gap of time in there. 2Peter 3:4-7 leads some scholars to believe this is indeed true. During this time a pre-Adamic race many have existed on a pre-Adamic earth. In addition Lucifer and his angels may have ruled over the nations. This is very possibly the time of the fall of Lucifer which the bible mentions but never elaborates on. In Gen 1:28 the KJV says to 'replenish' the earth. Gen 1:9 also says to 'replenish' the earth this time referring to the time of Noah. Why did the earth need replenished the first time? Hope this helps. prayon |

195 | difference btw kings and chronicles | 1 Kin 1:1 | prayon | 125590
GReetings Adex, This is a very good question. In the septuagint, the books of Samuel and Kings are entitled 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 3 Kings and 4 Kings. Together Samuel and Kings relate the whole history of the monarchy, from its rise to its fall. It is believed to of been written by Jeremiah before the exile. It is written from the prophetic point of view with an emphasis on the throne. It deals with the history of both Judah and Israel. Chrinicles includes a duel account of the history but mainly deals with the histroy of Judah. found in Samuel and Kings. In addition Chronicles contain unique histroy and therefore is regarded as a supplement to Samuel and Kings. It is believed to of been written by Ezra. Kings which was written by Jeremiah talks about both of the divided kingdoms whereas Chrinicles which was believed written by Ezra was written after the exile from a priestly point of view with an emphasis on the temple. Hope this helps. prayon |

198 | More info on Enuice and Lois | 2 Tim 1:5 | prayon | 125286
Greetings KAKMILL and welcome to the forum. I am not sure what you mean by "more" info on Eunice and Lois but Eunice was Timothy's mother and Lois was his grandmother. They both had great faith which helped prepare him for his ministry. There is only one verse in the bible that talks about Eunice and Lois - 2 Tim 1:5 Paul was talking to Timothy and stated " I'm reminded of how sincere your faith is. That faith first lived in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice. I'm convinced that it also lives in you". This one verse gives Eunice and Lois their immortality because it speaks of the excellent job they did in raising Timothy and instilling in him godly virtues. They had prepared him for great responsibilities well. It was from Eunice and Lois that Timothy obtained his intimate knowledge of the Jewish Scriptures, (2Ti 3:15). In addition the religious faith of the mother and grandmother had been handed down to Timothy in overflowing measure. Eunice and Lois seem to step right from the pages of the Bible and tell us that there is nothing more important in a mother's life than the early training of her child. Hope this clears up your question, if not please be more specific on what you would like to know. prayon |

199 | speaking in tongues 1cor.12:1coming | 1 Cor 12:13 | prayon | 125282
Greetings MrOteng, Robin is right. Speaking in tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit available to everyone. It is the evidence of the Holy Spirits indwelling (see Acts 2,8,9,10, and 19). There are 5 conditions for receiving the Holy Spirit. 1) Must be saved (John 14:17) 2) Must be obedient. A Christian in known sin can not receive, his heart will condemn him resulting in no faith (Acts 5:32) 3) Must have faith. A Christian must be fully persuaded that this experience is in him. (Gal 3:2) 4) Must ask in faith (Mark 11:24; Luke 11:13) 5) Must yield to the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4) Since the gift of tongues is available to everyone the reasons that a Christian would not area lack of: 1) obedience to God in their life 2) Faith 3) Yeilding when the Holy Spirit comes on them such as your mouth is closed, you are speaking in English (can't speak in 2 languages at the same time). Hope this helps. prayon |

200 | What's really going on? | 1 Thess 5:18 | prayon | 125075
Greetings, When you are healed you must walk in that healing - even when you are healed before the physical manifestation takes place. So many people do not believe that God will really heal you. The most important thing to receive a healing is you must have the faith that God did heal you. You turn faith loose by: Believing right Thinking right Making the right confession It is not a lack of power that hinders people, it is a lack of faith. Doubt also robs God’s people of their blessings. Here are the 4 steps Abraham used to work for him: 1) have God’s word for what you desire to receive from God 2) Believe God’s word 3) Consider not the contradictory circumstances 4) Give praise to God for the answer Whenever the illness tries to come back you must go into the warfare mode and deny what the physical is telling you and believe what God has told you and done for you. The devil will always try to use sickness as a way of decreasing your faith in God and your importance to Him. Hope this helps some. |
