Bible Question:
hey guys, I'm new to the forum, I found it because I am confused about the differnt interpretatios of Genesis 1-1-2. was there, or was there not a gap between the two verses? I am reading a book called the invisble war, and it alledges that the fall occured in between that period of time...and that the 6day creation was a restoration..?? I'm veery puzzled ..if anyone could offer biblical insight, that'd be great! |
Bible Answer: Greetings and welcome to the forum Empty, There is indeed a theory called the "Gap Theory" that there was a gap of time between Gen 1:1 and 1:2. If the earth was created a fruitful place and then became a wilderness (see Jer 4:23-28) then there could be a gap of time in there. 2Peter 3:4-7 leads some scholars to believe this is indeed true. During this time a pre-Adamic race many have existed on a pre-Adamic earth. In addition Lucifer and his angels may have ruled over the nations. This is very possibly the time of the fall of Lucifer which the bible mentions but never elaborates on. In Gen 1:28 the KJV says to 'replenish' the earth. Gen 1:9 also says to 'replenish' the earth this time referring to the time of Noah. Why did the earth need replenished the first time? Hope this helps. prayon |
