161 | Why do i need to love god? | John 3:16 | azurelaw | 223439
Dear Shannon, Do you go to church? Do you attend Sunday school? I would suggest you talk to your Sunday school teacher or pastor or even your parents concerning your question. It is not because we cannot answer your question, but at your age, a face to face interaction would be better. When you register, did you read the Terms of Use? I am afraid you are not upto the age requirement (i.e. 18) of the forum. May you keep on knowing God, my dear. May the Holy Spirit bless you and give you wisdom to understand our gracious Lord. Peace be with you. Azure |

165 | Is there always the evidence of tongues? | Acts | azurelaw | 223335
Dear Brother Lionheart, One thing always puzzles me is that why people so much concern on the issue of speaking in tongues. This subject, I would say, could be classified as the top 10 frequently discussed topics on the forum. Paul admonished us to desire the greater gifts (1 Cor 12:31) - faith, hope and love, for all the other gifts will be done away (1 Cor 13:8-13). May we always remember all gifts are for edifying members of the church and building up the body of Christ for His glory ONLY. Shalom Azure |

169 | Is James 4:3 completely true? | James 4:3 | azurelaw | 223278
Thank you for the encouragement, brother John. Isn't God marvellous, and only He truly knows what we need and what is good for us? Doesn't He, only He know what our real problem is? Isn't He so loving and gracious that before we ask, He gives (i.e. before we realize our own problem, He takes the initiative step to show where we err). What shall we say but Halelujah to Him in the highest! Shalom Azure |

Dear Biblenovice, Please do calm down first (James 1:19-20). I hope you would drop your focus on your car problem and the seemingly unswered prayer issue for the time being. Let me recall you to Acts 3:1-8. The lame was truly IN NEED OF ALMS, and that was absolutely reasonable. He believed so and I would, too if I were him. But what God gave him (through Peter's hand) was not the lame expected - a new life (both physical and spiritual, I beleive,...see he PRAISED God instead of praising Peter, and cling to Peter into the temple instead of going away). Now, why do I cite the passage? Have you considered that your coming to the forum in search of help on the specific car issue could be a means of God's dealing (through forum users who hold to sola scriptura) with your other problems - to have a proper understanding of God and His Words. Without proper view of God, our worldview will be distorted and so do our view on the circumstances experienced in our daily lives. May the Holy Spirit shed light in your heart. God bless Shalom Azure |

171 | SEARCHING FOR THE TRUTH | Matt 5:17 | azurelaw | 223270
Dear Inquisitor, You say: "Guide us? Absolutely. The only single one of the 10 Commandments NOT endorsed in Christianity is the sanctity of the Sabbath as it was strictly part of the previous regime. But the other 9 commandments were issued as basic Godly principles for all mankind to live throughout all time." I agree that Christians do not observe the Sabbath as the Isrealite did in the OT. However, since Jesus Christ came, the Sabbath has been viewed anew. Matthew 11:28-29 Hebrew Ch 3-4 Shalom Azure |

175 | Did the Romans kill Jesus or did the Jew | NT general | azurelaw | 223198
Dear Bob, I am sorry for having offended your feeling of being lectured which was not my intent. My former answer was a supplement to Tim's (a busy pastor, while he did not cite scriptures but I guess he was answer in haste for that is not the usual way he posts as far as I know him) with supporting scriptures in compiling the TOU of the forum "sola Scriptura". As an active member [well, sometimes not quite active, frankly :-)] on the forum, users here always remind one another to stick to scriptures and diligently study the Word instead of proning to people's view point. I would have to tell you that such advice has been helping me a great deal and I have been blessed so much from them...of course I still make the same mistake :-( Therefore, I hope, as Doc suggested, you stay longer with us and study together for mutual edification and for the Glory of our Lord. Shalom Azure P.S. May my explanation draw us closer just like the distance between where you and I are in comparing to mine with the U.S. :-) |

177 | Did the Romans kill Jesus or did the Jew | NT general | azurelaw | 223177
Dear Bob, Welcome to the forum. We don't come to the forum to "beat" someone's view point, but to study the Bible for edifying one another and to grow for the glory of our Lord. What Tim has said can be found in the below scriptures clearly and plainly. Do we still need to seek other viewpoints? Acts 2:22 "Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know-- Acts 2:23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. John 10:18 No one has taken it [my life] away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father. Shalom Azure |

178 | Spiritual Warfare | Eph 6:18 | azurelaw | 223148
"Prayer brings us to the throne of grace for Christ’s resources against our spiritual enemy. Through it God grants us wisdom to discern, strength to stand firm, protection from spiritual harm, and grace to press on. Prayer as a weapon of spiritual warfare seeks the face of our Lord against an enemy that is strong, crafty, subtle, resourceful, and relentless. Such prayer is wielded in faith — faith that knows, trusts, relies on, and serves God. God has not left us alone to face the foe but has enfolded us into the company of His people where we find community in Spirit and camaraderie in mission. We need the fellowship of the brethren to watch our backs, to encourage us in battle, and to urge one another on to abide in Christ lest we grow weary and lose heart. " "Spiritual warfare is not something extraordinary, but ordinary to life in a fallen world and much deserving of study. It is conducted in weakness that seeks God’s strength, in wisdom that applies God’s truth, and in obedience that serves God’s kingdom. Through it, the Spirit matures us in Christ and advances Christ’s cause in this world." -- Stanley Gale |
