The enemies of Jesus Christ will be judged. The King of kings will execute judgment over His enemies (Rev.19:15-16). Jesus Christ will come from His throne in heaven to earth to rid all opposition to His earthly reign. The judgments of God will have fallen over the earth during the seven-year period known as the Great Tribulation. Those judgments upon the earth prepare for the reign of Christ on the earth. Jesus told us in Matthew 24:27-31 that this will be a climatic event. Earth shaking, climatic events will take place with suddenness. This is the same return we read about in Revelation 19. Everyone living on the earth will suddenly see the events taking place in the heavens. I do not know what the "sign of the Son of Man" appearing in the sky will be. But the Bible tells us, "BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen" (Revelation 1:7, caps indicate Old Testament quote in NASB). I do know the whole world will see Jesus Christ returning in glory. It will be the lightning strike that grabs and holds worldwide attention. This is how Jesus described it: For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. If CNN and the media are still around for the occasion this will be the most widely covered event in history. The Battle of Armageddon will take place in the valley of Jezreel in Israel at the end of the Tribulation. Revelation 20:8 should be distinguished from 17:14; 19:19 (Armageddon) because it follows the thousand year reign of Christ. Gog and Magog are symbolic figures that represent the nations of the world who ban together for a final assault against the Kingdom of God at the end of the millennial reign of Christ. When Christ rides out of heaven to take His throne the enemies of Christ who have joined with the Antichrist and his false prophet will meet Christ for battle (Rev.19:17-21). At that time Christ will judge His enemies and they will be thrown into the lake of fire. It will be a time of great slaughter. The armies of the earth will all be destroyed because they have allied with the forces of the Antichrist. Christ will have defeated them all at this time. Not only will the enemies of Christ be judged, but it will also be a time when the remnant that survives the Great Tribulation will recognize Jesus Christ as the true Messiah of God. This information is only in part, if you need more info please let me know, but I pray that this has been helpful. God bless |

162 | How does the church respond to abuse? | Jer 5:31 | inmyheart | 86580
In every culture throughout history, mankind has sought solutions to life's problems. Each generation offers new man-made philosophies and models, but personal and interpersonal problems continue to plaque us. Even in the Body of Christ, there are many other problems resulting in distress, physical abuse, physical illness and immobility. God intends and expect marriage to be a lifetime commitment between a man and a woman, based on the principles of biblical love. The relationship between Jesus Christ and His Church is the supreme example of the committed love that a husband and wife are to follow in their relationship with each other (based on Ecclesiastes 9:9; Malachi 2:14; Matthew 19:3-6; Mark 10:6-9; I Corinthians 13:4-8a; Ephesians 5:21-33). As you continue to be a biblical servant and be a blessing to your spouse (based on Romans 12:9-21; Ephesians 5:21-33; Philippians 2:3-4), you can be assured that God will work all things for good in your relationship with your spouse. No one, not even an unbelieving or unloving or rebellious spouse, can prevent it (based on Romans 8:28-29). God's blessings |

Matthew 5:16 is saying we should let our works be done so that God is glorified when men see our works, rather than attracting attention to ourselves! What equals good works, walking as Christ, only as you can walk, as stated in Ephesians 2:10. God bless |

167 | is burning the pages of the bible wrong? | Matthew | inmyheart | 104165
Is burning the blank papers in the back of the bible to roll a joint wrong? Is it a sin? The blank pages of the Bible is the closest you will get to rolling papers! Is it a sin to burn those blank pages, no! It's a sin to smoke that weed that's in that paper. You can burn the Bible, rip it up and throw it as far away as you can, but nobody will be able to destroy the Word of God! This is what Jesus says: Mt:24:35: Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Jesus said that all the Law and the Prophets hinged on two commandments. These are, to love the Lord our God with all of heart, and all of our minds. The other is to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. "If we will walk in the Love of God we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh". Christ has delivered us from the law of bondage and set us free with the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. God Bless P.S Your peers have enough money to buy the weed, but no money to buy rolling paper! That use to be an old jail house trick. Tell your friends too quit pulling your leg and get a life.. IN Christ :) |

168 | "Every rhema ?" | Matt 4:4 | inmyheart | 64475
Jesus lays out a system of priorities that challenges us: "Every word that proceeds from the mouth of God," is to be more precious to us than food itself. "By relying on the power and truth of God's Word," Jesus was willing to fight this battle as a man; He could have easily rebuked Satan into another galaxy, but resisted Him in a way that we can imitate and identify with. 169 | Never defend myself or others ag. evil? | Matt 5:39 | inmyheart | 64686
Jesus presents the fullness of this law: the non-resistance of evil. This is a radical command, but not an absolute one: Jesus Himself resisted evil when He turned tables in the temple. This principle is also relevant to personal relationships, and not to the proper functions of government in restraining evil (Romans 13:1-4); I must turn my cheek when I am personally insulted (the cultural meaning of a slap on the cheek), but the government has a responsibility to restrain the evil man from physical assault. Jesus also displayed the principle behind the law in His trials before the Sanhedrin and Pilate: we are to let God defend our case, not ourselves. Positively, we are told to take command of evil impositions by making a deliberate choice to give more than we are required. Roman law commanded Jews (in their Judean occupation) to carry the pack of any Roman soldier, but only for one mile; Jesus is saying "go beyond the one mile required by law and give another mile out of a free choice of love." This is how we change someone's attempt to manipulate us into our free act of love. The only limit to this kind of sacrifice is the limit that love itself will impose; it isn't love to give into someone's manipulation without our transforming it into a free act of love; it isn't always love to give or to not resist. Jesus clearly says that "we are not to resist the evil person;" we are to "resist evil itself" at every opportunity. God Bless |

170 | Saved but not living for God? | Matt 6:33 | inmyheart | 163413
If you have been saved, why would a person go live in the world, but the word says; Mat 18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? Mat 18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that [sheep], than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. My friend, whoever you are speaking of, God has given us promises that He will not leave us nor foresake us. As you know the things in the world are not everlasting, the backslider is missing the peace of mind, entering the rest of God, the provisions of life, and not to mention the testimony that of a persons life, reflecting the image of God, that the world is hungry for. God bless you and thank you for the question. inmyheart |

171 | recovery and the bible | Matt 9:12 | inmyheart | 87071
There are many verses of scripture that can be used for addiction, such as Galatians 5:17-20. Are you in recovery? Or are you looking for some encouraging words for a person who is addicted? Please be a little more specific. The Apostle Paul writes: "I do not understand my own behavior; I do not act as I mean to, but I do the things that I hate. Though the will to do what is good is in me, the power to do it is not; the good thing I want to do, I never do; the evil thing which I do not want--that is what I do." Romans 7:14-24. In writing these words, Paul is talking about sin. Theologically, sin is what turns us away from love--away from love for ourselves, away from love for one another, and away from love for God. When I look at this problem psychologically, I see two forces that are responsible: repression and addiction. We all suffer from both repression and addiction. Of the two, repression is by far the milder one. God bless |

172 | If the house is "worthy"? | Matt 10:13 | inmyheart | 51766
Cheryl What is being spoken of here is; How they were to provide for themselves. They should expect God to meet their needs, without taking undue concern for their own needs; but they should expect that God would normally meet their needs through the inspired hospitality of others. those who do receive these disciples can expect to be blessed ("let your peace come upon it"); but those cities who refuse them can expect to be treated as Gentiles (shake off the dust from your feet), and are in grave danger of judgement. Even though the twelve can expect their needs to be met through the people they minister to, they should never require their needs to be met as "payment". The foundational principle is "Freely you have received, freely give." God's blessings Cheryl |

173 | What does Matthew 10:34-35 mean? | Matt 10:34 | inmyheart | 69816
pollywog, In Matthew 10:34-36 it says "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household." In all of Jesus' ministry, it is clear that He cared deeply for the entire human race. There are many incidents where He showed that he cared for families. The incident where He healed Peter's mother-in-law (Matt. 8:14-15), the incident where He raised the ruler's daughter (Matt. 9:24-26), the incident recorded in Luke 7:11-15 where He raised a dead man and presented him to his widowed mother, to name a few. In the message recorded in Matthew 10:34-36 He is simply predicting that anyone who follows Him can expect opposition, sometimes even from his own family. This is obviously referring to cases where the family members choose to continue following evil rather than God. There is no contradiction or discrepancies in the Bible. |

174 | Types of Fornication(Masturbation) | Matt 15:19 | inmyheart | 107293
Spiritual points about masturbation: 1. Masturbation causes you to be "mastered" by sin: The Bible says that there are only two things that we can be a slave to: sin or righteousness. There are no other masters. Paul wrote, "Do you not know that if you yield yourselves to any one as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?" (Romans 6:16 NKJV). Which master does masturbation bring us under? In almost every case, it is used to complement lust and the Bible identifies lust as sin in several places. For example, Jesus said in Matthew 5:28, "But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." When you consider that masturbation usually includes thinking about what it would be like to have sex with someone (i.e. lusting) while simulating the physical feeling, its easy to see that it brings us under the master of sin. God does not want people to be mastered by sin. For example, he told Cain, "If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it" (Genesis 4:7 NKJV). Cain let sin rule him by murdering his brother Abel. His life was drastically affected. He lost his job, his peace, his home, and his blessing and spent the rest of his days as a "restless wanderer" (Genesis 4:12). Likewise, we have the same opportunity to choose our master. If we choose sin as our master, our life will bear the fruit that sin brings - i.e. destruction, sorrow, dissatisfaction, death, etc.. If we choose righteousness as our master, we will reap life! Paul wrote: 20When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:20-23 NIV 2. Masturbation uses your body as an instrument for sin: Your body is to be presented and used as an instrument for righteousness (not sin). Paul wrote, "Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God" (Romans 6:12-13 NKJV). God can best use us when we keep our "vessels" (body, soul , spirit) free of sin. Paul wrote: "In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart" (2 Timothy 2:20-22 NIV). God bless |

175 | Should We Get Married Again? | Matt 19:4 | inmyheart | 55506
How can there be an reconciliation if there wasn't a seperation. However why reconcil when the head doesn't want to be the covering over you. Your husband has issues that must be delt with. You mention that he has control over his addiction, if this is true he'll fail. Only God has control, only through His Son Jesus that former things are put behind, and all things become new. Denial is the biggest obstacle that will prevent a recovering addict from going on to a new life in the Lord. My suggestion to you is that before you begin to deal with any other issues, that you seek Christian council, from your pastor, etc. There are many Christian support groups available. Dueteronomy 30:19 says to choose life, Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. God loves you |

177 | is this a passage for second coming? | Matt 25:1 | inmyheart | 50090
Greetings, Here is another source taken from the Blue letter Bible Commentary; Matthew 25:1 - The parable of the ten virgins 1. Ten virgins go out to meet a bridegroom at a wedding a. There were three stages to a Jewish wedding in that day: "engagement" (a formal agreement made by the fathers), "betrothal" (the ceremony where mutual promises are made), and "marriage" (approximately one year later when the bridegroom comes at an unexpected time for his bride) b. In this parable, the first two stages have already taken place; now the wedding party (the ten virgins) await the coming of the bridegroom for his bride c. Why does Jesus describe ten virgins? Talmudic authorities affirm that there usually ten lamps used in a bridal procession 2. (Verse 2-13)The young women caught unprepared are denied entry a. These young women were outwardly prepared (they had their lamps in hand), but yet not really ready for the coming of the bridegroom b. What did they lack in their readiness? "Oil," Which is emblematic of the Holy Spirit; only He can make us really ready for the coming of the Jesus i. No one can be a true Christian without the indwelling Holy Spirit - "now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His (Romans 8:9); these virigins had the appearance of readiness, but thay lacked the critical ingredient c. How can we make sure that we don't lack in our readiness? Ask for the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13), and walk in the Spirit d. In addition, we see that if we are not ready, no one else can protect us; not because no one will, but because no one can 3. The point of this parable is simple: be ready! Blessings to you my friend |

179 | the use of nations? | Matt 28:19 | inmyheart | 56414
Coffee, I agree with Morant61, Paul uses the term for Gentile Christians, for Matthew 28:19. However in my research of "ethnos" I find the following difinitions also; of or relating to large groups of people classed according to common racial, national, tribal, religious, linguistic, or cultural orgin or background. And last but not least, being a member of "ethnic" group. Matthew 24:7, Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. I don't believe that the Bible is speaking of Gentile Christians(ethnos) here, I believe that in this time of the end time, "ethnos", is speaking of nationalities against nationalities (ethnic groups), as we are seeing taking place today in the middle east. This makes more sense than, for an example, China against Russia, or any other nations. That is a good question, maybe someone else would like to comment, or add some revelation to this word "ethnos". However, it's late and too early for coffee :) God bless |

180 | Only church members can be baptized? | Mark | inmyheart | 64395
Many people go to be baptized, but they have so little knowledge of the Bible and of Jesus that they cannot understand or believe on Jesus with all their heart. In some countries, people may gather in great numbers to be baptized; yet when each one is questioned, "Who is Jesus?", many do not know Who He really is. To many, He is nothing more than a name and a person they sing about. They have no saving knowledge or faith. They are not ready for baptism. Mk 16:16-HE THAT BELIEVETH AND IS BAPTIZED SHALL BE SAVED; BUT HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT SHALL BE DAMNED. Note, "BELIEVING" must be in place before water baptism is done; and "believing" is to be WITH ALL THINE HEART. A person cannot believe on or be baptized into One in whom they know nothing about. Many preachers and elders wrongly baptize these people without ever discerning if they believe on Jesus and understand who He is, and what He did. You become a member when you enter into the family of God. God bless |
