1401 | Eccumenicalism is a deluding influence. | 2 Thess 2:11 | Mommapbs | 36279
Could the bad seed of "what is false" be sown in the soil of "tolerance" that is so prevalent in today's society? I'm wondering if the ecumenical movement might be the fertilizer, the "deluding infleunce" for the growth of this bad seed. The spirit of anti-christ is alive and well if people succumb to the "notion" of worshipping any other god than OUR GOD - Jesus Christ!
1402 | Defense or offense? | Eph 6:10 | Mommapbs | 36271
Greetings EdB! I completely agree. Doesn't it seem that the devil would have us remain ignorant of these things?! As a side bar - how does one justify the "Crusades?" Was this any different from "jihad?" What should the response of the believer be in these times? You have reminded that we are quick to forget the real nature of the enemy. Thanks for the dialog and may God rain blessings on your day! Mommapbs |

1403 | The privilege of "handling the Word!" | Eph 6:17 | Mommapbs | 36258
RE: Ephesians 6:10-20 from these Scriptures, it appears that the common denominator is the SPIRIT - It is the Spirit that empowers (v 10); we are told to take up the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT (v 17) and we are told to pray IN THE SPIRIT (v 18). What does this suggest to the believer - how does or should this affect our daily walk? Note also the Satan uses the Word of God (the temptation of Eve, the temptation od Christ)- but in his hands it is not the SWORD of the SPIRIT! Perhaps we need to examine what our motives are when WE use God's Word? "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;so that the man of God may be equipped for every good work." Are we abusing God's Word when we do not endeavor to use it according to HIS purposes as outlined in this verse? Compare the exhortation in 2 Tim 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth." Again, we see the importance of using God's word correctly. This has been "food for thought" to me . . . it seems good to "share it!" Mommapbs |

Apology accepted. Thank you. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on some issues here at the Forum. |

Pre-Trib, Post-Trib, Mid-Trib ! I'm "IN TRIB" over the direction this discussion has taken! I understand your point of view and respect your interpretation of Scripture. I am asking you to extend the same respect to my view and others on the Forum who do not agree with it. Jesus wants us to be expecting Him! (Mat 24:44-46) I do not believe it is edifying to the Body to be consumed with the timing of it. Only the Father knows the day and the hour! (Mt 24:36) Expectantly waiting! Mommapbs |

CDBJ - I am feeling that I was just "slapped?" My brother -I turn the other cheek to your remarks. This issue is not edifying when it causes division and hard feelings in the body of Christ. The Lord knows who belong to Him and He will keep His promises to them. In this life or the next, I'm looking forward to seeing the Lord face-to face! "keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life." Jude 1:21 Mommapbs |

In this verse , you are correct! I aoplogize, I was thinking about the signs that Jesus said would precede His coming, which can be described as a type of "tribulation" that believers will go through prior to the Rapture. But I do not agree that the Church, the Body of Christ, will experience the Great Tribulation that this Sripture speaks of. Sorry for the confusion! Mommapbs

I copied this from an earlier post: We Americans have no concept of famine or true martyrdom, yet many Christians live under persecution and in famine stricken conditions. Certainly there are wars and "rumors of wars" and nations have risen against nation;kingdoms have risen again kingdoms. We have seen "earthquakes in various places" in recent days. Matthew 24:6-7 While these are all "speculative," and by far not all that we could look at as we compare these to the "days of Noah": When Krakatoa erupted, not only was the explosion heard about 2,000 miles away, as the ash circum-navigated the globe, it caused the sun to be darkened and created other atmopsheric abnormalities. An atomic blast conceivably looks like the sky being rolled up like a scroll - and could be described as a shaking of the heavens. What did "scud missles" look like? "Stars falling from the sky?" Or might this also describe the increase of meteor showers and falling space debris we have witnessed? The Gospel was preached to all nations in the fall of 2001. Although we have had the technology to do so, there has never been an opportunity or reason for this until 9/11. If you will recall, Billy Graham presented the Gospel from the National Cathedral which was simultaneously translated and broadcast LIVE throughout the world. As for nations or kingdoms, too often we make these political entities, when in fact, they may be spiritually defined. We have overlooked the possibility of Islam as a conquering "nation." Could this be the rider on the white horse described in Rev 6:2? However, in light of all our suffering in this present life, the Lord comforts us with these words:(v.6) " . . . see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come." |

Greetings! I believe the tribulation that Jesus spoke about in this passage was NOT the TRIBULATION described in the book of The Revelation. Believers have suffered tribulation or troubles just as Jesus promised. This passage is still "pre-wrath." We are in tribulation this very day as we struggle against natural enemies and spiritual powers and authorities. Jesus comforts us by reminding us that HE has overcome the world - sin and death are defeated foes! Praise God! So although we still struggle, our Redeemer is at the door, just waiting for the Father's command to go get His Bride! We should all be looking up expectantly! This often helps in keeping the focus off our temporary trials or "tribulations!" I hope I have clarified my thinking on this for you!Blessings in Jesus!Mommapbs |

Greeting again Markarios! (BTW, why did you change your screen name?) Thank you for the Scripture! No, I am not a Pastor, but I am a minister, as are you! Thank you for ministering to me! See Col 1:25-29! Blessings! Mommapbs |

Greetings Listener! It was a real blessing today to read your response. When you look at the length of this "thread," you see how far away from the banqueting table the forum went! Truly, I too await the fulfilment of Jesus' promise in Matthew 26:29! See you 'round the table! Maranantha! In Jesus, Mommapbs |

Brother Hank, please forgive me for putting you in an uncomfortable position. Not being one who has much "training" in the various doctrines that abound on this forum, I did feel less than equipped to tackle this! Thank you Hank, well said. Amen. Mommapbs |

One LAST (I hope) remark. Are not all participants in some way or another attempting to justify their position? You write: "I can see no reason why we would want to take something in our body that effects us in a negative way." So, do you apply this to ALL that you ingest? You must be real skinny with zero cholesterol and never suffer from any colds or illnessess! Franky EdB, exactly WHAT things don't have a negative effect on us in the world? Even the water we drink is tainted to some degree! God created everything - microbes, chemical components that produce pesticides, etc - things that do indeed cause us harm if used incorrectly.
