Makarios: I agree with your answerto ptimpalsix@aol.com (wow I am glad I don't have to say that mouth full) Maybe we might suggest a better name. Except I do think method is important.Immerison is as you said the Biblical method. Most churches that sprinkle accept infant baptism . Which I fins no Biblical grounds for. I have sprinkled a woman who was very near death, and there was no alternative. I amglad you said what you did about the holy spirit.

1363 | How do u stay pure but have pleasure | Phil 4:8 | justme | 56598
Markarios: When I see these type of questions, I wonder if they are not better answered by a mature Christian woman. We do have several in the forum. There is some reason she was seeking an answer that was, I think, wanting not so much a Biblical line of verses but more technical down to earth solutions to her wanting to be pure, yet to relieve herself of sexual frustration. I do not think we as men can adaquitly answer that. You must surely see she was asking for more than you answered. Don't you agree. My view, when it comes to sexual questions it is best handled by those of the same sex. Just thought I would share my feelings onthis kind of advice. I think it is worth your consideration. agape, justme |

Aspiring Overseer: I wish you had something about yourself in the Update User Info. I do not really know to whom I am addressing, which would help a lot. May I say that I do NOT know of any scripture that could back up your view that anyone could obey ALL the COMMAMDS of God. To cindybaby12 is a viable answer. Could you please explain how you arrive at the exact age of 18? I am thinking as your name implies that you are aspiring to be an overseer, am I correct? This might become an important issue for you, as an overseer. I am not tring to be rude, I would like to understand your theological scriptual base for you note. ok? Thank You. agape, justme |

1365 | Is tithing just O.T. or N.T. as well? | Matt 23:23 | justme | 56540
Hank: I read all the noted between Kalos and Johnny. Matthew 6:1 to 4 Luke 6:38. I believe in sacrifical giving, which I have think is the New Testament teaching. This by no means is limited to ten percent. Sacrifical giving means more from the heart, than a limited percentage. With limited amount of so much of a percent, then it becomes legalistic giving. Sacrifical giving is love that is from a happy heart giver. Ten percent for someone making 100,000.00 dollars a year is not near the sacrifice of a person making 16,000.00 dollars a year, who migth be struggling just to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. Sacrifical giving means exactly what the name implies. The extent of accountability, sacrifical giving, is between the LORD and ang the believer. Far too often the giver is judged by the treasurer of the church, and others who have access to the giving records. The need to impress others who have the authority to place members in high church positions, like Elders, Deacons, and Trustees, becomes a legalistic necesity. Thus this record keeping becomes what I call, allowing your left hand to know what your right hand is doing. This I base on Matther 6:3. For me, I do not believe, believers should deduct their giving on their income tax, except para-church gifts, if at all. I personally do not claim what I give, as I think to use this amount is getting something back that I have revield that the Lord has said that I am to keep quiet about. My wife and I give in cash, and that is how I believe I can best keep our giving between us and the Lord. This principle has done more to hold me accountable, and convict me, more than any words spoken from the pulpit. I do not believe in signing pledge cards either. My budget is based on faith and belief the Lord will supply our needs. I have never seen the day the Lord did not abundantly and bless beyond what we deserved. I think this understanding of giving is beyond what a ten percent is. The Old Testament tithe was really much more than ten percent, when you include all the different offerings that were required. More often than not I have heard do I tithe on the gross or net. The retort is do you want to be blessed on the gross or net, this seems to be very legalistic, and limiting. Have you ever heard of this principal before? I would like to read your or others responce to this. By the way, please remember me in your prayers as I have surgery on Friday, I sincerely appreciate your words in the forum. you are a genuine Christian of maturity, whom I admire. agape, justme |

Kalos: There is a unrealistic over abundantance of believers that are so adament there way is the only way to understand the end times. Some will make such a strong eschatological statement, that to believe anything but their view is like being a part of the antichrist. Without agreeing to their view, as if it were an article of faith statenent, you are no longer a part of the Body of Christ. For me, that is unthinkable, and ignorance at it's extreme. I have said before "be prepared" the Boy Scout moto is very well suited for Christians. I think if as much attention to studing 1 Cor. chapter 13 would be even 10 percent of what the study of end times is, the world would change in a very short time. Kalos, it is much easier to plan something than to work and make it become reality. The welcoming commitee takes comitment and work. Oh no, I said te "W" word. agape, justme |

Kalos: The point you make, is exactly what I thought I was tring to convay. The tribulation that the Bible is fortelling is unlike anything man kind has ever known. I too have had people say look at this or that and they think we are in the tribulation now. I sigh inside, and wonder how can you bring truth to someone who is adament, because they heard a tv preacher say so. We are a nation of tv bible educated schollars. Wow, that sure is impressive, how many still are sucking on spiritual bottles. Thanks for your input. agape, justem |

Parousia: I would say at this time I am a pre-trib. However my point is that there is now and will always be tribulation. How bad does it have to get? I honestly have no idea. In Africa millions have been killed in tribal wars. People are starving all around the world. Missionaries are killed, more each yearl. Many in our own country are hungry, or can't afford medicine and do die for lack of funds. Our economy is on shackey grounds, we are fighting a war that may have no end in sight. Many men and women who have families make very low wages compaired to 15 years ago. Where we live 8 dollars an hour is a good job! But in facy it is not, it is starvation wages. I am greatful the LORD is my protector, my Father who cares for my needs. I am blessed. Paul said he could be content, with or without his needs being taken care of. No matter what happens it is the Lord who see's over us. I have honestly come to the point where I know no matter what happens I just want to be in the LORD's will. I do not understand why some bare heavier crosses than others. I do not understand why some suffer beyond what I could endure. The American dream is a nightmare. The America I love is needing to restate it's slogans. It should be America Bless God! Not God Bless America. We the church have a lot backwards. But, Parousia, we are so blessed to be in this place. Are we in tribulation? Yes, we are. I think it will get much worse! The "YET" Jesus refered to has "yet" to come. The old Boy Scott moto "Be Prepared" is the best answer I know. agape, justme |

Parousia: I will sing tennor, if you take base! This is a sad mistake the church makes. Sunday after SUNDAY, many hear nothing but salvation messages, and perhaps all are saved! Who gains from that when the message is intended for ears that are not there to hear? Our Pastor TEACHES chapter by chapter, a book at a time. That is feeding the flock! I have been a Baptist for the first 55 years of my pilgramage on this planet. The last two years we belong at Calvary Chapel in Osage Beach, MO. My spiritual desire to grow has increased, and I am responsible for my spiritual growth. What freedom that has given me! I am not saying Baptist's are wrong or are bad. I just say there are churches out there that are different and meet peoples needs just as well. Maybe we will have a few more to start a "choir". agape, justme |

Parousia: Please look at the note I sent to Kalos. This is a very interesting subject. This is the kind of dialogue I enjoy. This is a dialogue that only the LORD knows the complete answer, the date, and time of Christ's return. So at best we are still putting a puzzel together. The best part is no one can say if you do not believe this way you are not saved! I hope not anyway! Good the have you with us! agape, justme |

Hi Kalos: I have found that a book called The meaning MILLENNIUM: Four Views Edited by Robert G. Clouse Published by IVP to be an excellent book to get the actual schollars view. Each give their view point and each author gets give their view. Then the other's point to say what they don't agree with. All four views are presented. Top notch book, a must read book. For myself, I have vasalated from time to time on how I understand the views. Dr. J. Dwight Pentecost's book THINGS TO COME by Zondervan is pretty much where I stand right now. The real point is to be prepared, be faithful, be fruitfull. The rest will come as the LORD has planned. Regardless of how well man may think he has it figuared out, don't bet the farm on mans view. I am ready! Beam me up LORD! agape, justme |

anhill05: Your questions are ludicrous, and appear to be argumentative in tone. I do not particapate in battle dialogues. If you so desire to worship on Friday sundown to Saturday at sundown so be it. May I say in the Spirit of Romans 14. That I accept you. In verse 4 it is abundantly clear, to your master you will stand or fall. I understand Grace much differently than you. This subject has been gone over recently and feel free do to a subject SEARCH in the upper right of your screen. I am sure no matter what I would say, I could not influence you reconsider your belief. The same is true for you, to change my thinking. I wish you peace. agape, justme. |

1377 | unfaithfulness the unpardonable sin? | Matt 5:32 | justme | 55563
Hardness of heart on every ones part! Some feel they have missed out on someone better than what they have. Jesus did not say that unfaithfullness required dirorce! Jesus basicly was saying because you wont forgive, divorce was permitted. That's how I see it. But as long as we are human we will sin, and cause sever pain to each other. agape, Justme |
