JRdoc:Hi again, this is justme. You have really got the system of the forum down pretty well I see. I like your info, as I said before. Would you more fully explain with scripture, and you opinion, what happens to a person with unconfessed sin upon death? What about someone who had a habitual sin, and struggled their whole life with the sin? Finally, do you believe in grave sleep, meaning that when we die, untill Christ returns we are asleepin spirit? There are many verses that refer to those that are asleep in the Lord, or simular wording. This is for me confusing. Then there are those who say we have a body, soul, and spirit. Yet others say the soul and spirit are the same. Would offer your opinion on this also? I have read IMMORTALITY THE OTHER SIDE OF DEATH, by Dr. Gary R. Habermas of Liberty University, and Dr. J.P. Moreland of Talbot School of Theology, BIOLA University. I did not find the answers to the questions I am presenting to you. This book dealt more with proving there is life after death. You said "When the return of the Lord does come His elect will rise and be with him forever......" Which I wonder how Hebrews 9:27 fits into this? Does this verse mean sometime after Christ' return and after we have died then judgement comes? I am aware that either way, however this all takes place is in the Lords hands. I just would like to more fully understand His plans. Thanks for your response, and glad you are with the forum. justme |

Hank:I have never had a more encouraging words said to me. The truth is I am a rough piece of old pine plank. God is sanding off the very sharp edges, and for me it seems like there has been little progress. If there is any good that goes through me, it is just Jesus shining His love for me, to who ever stands in His shadow as He sands on this old pime board. I too was a cabinet maker, and carpenter, so this is my word picture of Jesus and me. To Christ be given the praise you have sent me. justme |

1304 | The Ordination of Women | Joel 2:28 | justme | 61456
Searcher:I did not think it was too much. ABC just expects their pastors to be more educated and have a solid foundation theologicaly. I went to the SBC Seminary 1 year ans ABC three more to get two degrees. All that was a blessing! I can say the most important thing I knew before seminary, is even more true afterwards. Jesus loves me! This I know for the Bible tells me so everyday of my life! I also learned just because you have gone to seminary does not mean you are a spiritual person. To become Christlike takes a life time, not just a few years. I am retired now and attend a non-denominational church. So I would say as you did, go where you can serve. Thanks for your reply. justme |

John:I have respected you and added a few notes to you as well. However, there is a theme to a lot of you notes. Perhaps you did not se it that way. Whem a thread keeps going and going like the Ever-Ready Rabbit, it stops others from getting their questions responded to. I am sure all of have done this to some degree. I lovingly as a brother in Christ feel you were rude to Hank. This was a poor example of showing respect for those in authority, especially to new forum people, and I was grieved at your response. May I suggest you take some time alone away from the keyboard and pray about this. There is tension in your notes that show you are out of sorts. justme |

Hank:Having been with the forum about a year, I have been witness to your wise use of exortation. I have seen you show great wisdom when Raven returned as Nevar, which utterly made me feel like a fool. However, in the Christ like example you have exemplified, how to deal with those who have less than honest motives. I feel that when your gentle kind authority is rudely attacked, that upsets me as much as the Calvinism debates. May I say that either side of the issue holds no ground in the Lords Kingdom when their attacking borders on resentment, anger, and eventually hatred. Having delt with these issues in seminary, I believe neither side has it completly locked in on how it all works together. You are correct, those in the fold of Christ can certianly better spend their time in prayer or actually reading the WORD, which I can well use myself. I believe Mr. Lockman would be proud with the way you are watching over the forum, I surely am. Thank you. justme |

1307 | The Ordination of Women | Joel 2:28 | justme | 61384
Searcher56: You have got the point exactly! I do not think a true calling, a person believes is from the Lord, would cause such disruption of a church. In the end the call is confirmed by the person finding their ministry and minister. Many have left their church of origin and moved to another and found the Lord uses many different Christian churches, despite some wide theological different beliefs. Crossing demoninations has serious drawbacks. There will be losses, in friendships, support, and those you leave may well be unforgiving. Then on top of the list of changing demoninations means learning how that system works, which can be quite hard. Becoming accepted by the new demonination takes time, to build trust and getting to know who is who, and how the authority system works. I went from being an ordained Southern Baptist, To American Baptist. My ordination had to be reviewed, and I had to do a full theological desertation paper, That took almost six months. Then I went before a selected group, made up specfically for ordination recommendation. This was very difficult, and then learning a totally new way of relating to those in authority over me. As we agreed, we go where we can serve, and it does take much prayer, and knowing what you are doing is the Lords will for you. I sincerely hope your church and this lady can work together to help her find the place for which God is calling her. justme. |

1308 | The Ordination of Women | Joel 2:28 | justme | 61205
Searcher:This is a question many churches are facing today, and there is no easy answer. I would ask what does this lady feel she is being called to do? Is she prepared to go to seminary to make her axe as sharp as she can be? I was an American Baptist that encourages women to become Pastors. Their belief is females are open for any position in the church. As a whole most American Baptist Churches agree with this policy. Some do notand are not required to follow these guides. In Southerd Baptist a Divorced person is very limited as to what they are allowed to do. But with SBC each church is independant and makes up their own guides. I personally feel if this is causing such srtife that perhaps the lady needs to go to a church that is open to ordaining of women, rather than cause such a division in the church. Your pastor might well be the person to follow through in tring to seek a solution for all concerned. The United States still has a long way to go in accepting women as pastors as equal to men. The number of churches that allow women to serve as Elders and Deacons, is not widely accepted either. The genuineness of this ladies call will be proven by the call from the Lord being manisfested by the call of the church. To ask to be ordained before one has a ministry seems backwards. Usually the church calling the person, will have a time of watching then if found worthy they conduct and ordination comittee question time. If the person is able to present the required writings and theoligacial statements, and is accepted by the questioning comittee. Then they are recommended for ordination. Usually Probation or a tempoary Certificate of Ministry is given before Ordination takes place. For those who are American Baptist this is a lengthy strenious ordeal. Just being ordained has spiritual responsibilities that one must be very sure of. I hope this helps. justme |

kalos: :-) It' just ole justme again. I am tring to be good, but is is hard. I am having a hard time keeping up. In fact I think I am being....... LEFT BEHIND! Oh no, I must read faster! Now if you enjoyed the books LEFT BEHIND the movies CLOUD TEN made are remarkable! The quality and fine acting, bbeat Oppie in Mayberry RFD! I have three of then that we have watched a couple of times. And for the low, low bargin price of 19.99, that in its self says a lot! Plus we got tickets to see the extended version when it ever comes to our local movie house, for free! I have been waiting a good while. Does that mean it might not make it this way? Mr. "T" is in one! Will there be a fourth movie? I would like to collect all ten and then put then on E-Bay, for maybe 1.99 for all ten. That would be my way of spreading the 50 percent fiction, and 50 gospel. Any bidders? Do I hear 1.50? chairo, justme |

Kalos:-) Remember these are fictional. However parts of scripture are weaved in and out of the stories. Exactly what part is up for the reader to come to their own conclusion. I am not sure but if you counted all the pages in the ten volume set it might amount to more than the Bible! Do you think they might come out in a soft genuine leather calf skin set? Perhaps they might become collector items like Beanie Babies? I get thrilled at the idea of making double my money in a short time, thanks to almost Gods word. Just imigine what a set signed by TIM LEHEY would bring! This is really a solid investment, and may be worth holding on to for retirement! I am dumb founded as to how these stirr up such huge interest while the Bible sits on the end table covered with dust. I think of the verse about tickeling the ears, while the truth goes un noticed. Well it's something like that, or was that in THE WICKENBURG DOOR, I read from a decade ago? Did I hear something about loosing our first love? With all these Bible wolven fictional books it is hard to keep it all streight. But as long as we believe in Jesus thatt's all that counts! Or is there something missing? :-( chairo, justme |

John: If you don't mind me tossing a verse into the Forum, how about John 1:9."There was the true Light which coming into the world. elightens every man." Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood though what has been made, so that they are without excuse." Actually verses 18 to 23 give a better total picture of that there is no way for anyone to say I did not know. I am not speaking for Ed, but I could not resist adding to your dialogue. So thanks for allowing my input. chairo, justme |

John: I could not agree with you more. He who has the SON has life. He who has not the SON has not life! But even repentance follows salvation. Salvation, Grace plus nothing is salvation. These other factore come as evidence of salvation. Thank you for responding. agape, justme |
