1323 | Eve was GOD's gift to Adam. Meaning? | Gen 2:7 | justme | 59979
Hank: Perhaps the fact that Adam was found lackink, and no mate was suitable for him, might be seen bysome as that Eve became a gift to him? There is a lot of extra biblical thought behind this, but as married men this is a way of thanking the Lord for such a blessing as our wives are. We will have been married 33 years tommorow! That is a gift from God for sure. agape, justme |

EdB: :-) If God uses these books to bring people to a genuine soul saving experience then I am pleased. I personally am not drawn to the LEFT BEHIND books. I am not sure scaring fokes into a commitment is ethical, but that's only my opinion. I prefer to read what the Bible actually says, rather than a fictionalized version. I do believe this has been a drawing for some who other wise would never pick up a Bible. I have done very little compared to Tim LeHey in winning souls to Christ and can admire him for his evangelistic out reach. I most asredly don't even come close. LeHey is my brother in Christ. I feel the films by Cloud Ten Productions had some very serious financial ethical problems that were a poor testimony to the world as how to finance Christian movies. That is really my main issue. agape, justme agape. justme |

1328 | do u ask for the holy ghost? | Rom 8:26 | justme | 59906
Johnny: I mean no disrespect to you in anyway, however, the King James Version is not perfrect. No version is perfect, but just because the KingJames translators used the 1558 version as a sourse, does not make the word Ghost correct. That is one reason the New American Standard Bible is so much more accurate. Every place you see Ghost in the KJV the NASB uses the correct translation Spitit. I hope you will not take my word for this but ask a greek schollar if this is not correct. Again I say this with deep respect and a desire to establish what the correct word is. agape, justme |

1329 | is selling in a church building fine? | John 2:13 | justme | 59667
Edb:In a survey done for Zondervan Book Of Life a decade or so ago, it was confirmed that less than 10 percent of all Christians, who were so called regular church attenders, read their Bible on a regular basis. Even less read their Bible every day! But I am convienced those that pray on a faithful basis daily are far and few. In mid week service how many really pray? Ever notice it's just a few? Our churches will change when we reach out and spend time showing by example, to believers what true fellowship with Christ is. That would include Bible study and prayer. I do believe the Left Behind books should be exactally that, left behind! I try and read authors that are conservative, and write about prayer, better ways to minister, and grow in my faith. The SHEPERD lOOKS AT THE 23RD PSALM is one such example of a book I recommend highly. Now, as to selling in a church or not, that is up to the church. In times when WOF and cults are so open we need to be able to know why we are not in line with such false faiths. So there is a place for that in a Christians life. However ballance is a key. Many love to hold and look at the Bible, it feels good! But study does not transfer by being next to the Bible, only by reading and prayer. I hope this makes my position more undersatndable. I do object to rummage sales, and all that. To me that shames the church! That tells the world we can't carry our load! In fact I don't believe churches should be tax excempt, because in a real way our government is help supporting our churches. I know people will say then we would lose our deductions! That is too bad, no one should know what you give except the Lord! I know that is a very risky and offending statement to some, but that's what I think is Biblical. agape, justme |

1330 | is selling in a church building fine? | John 2:13 | justme | 59664
Sir Peent: Thank you for your kind remarks, it makes me feel good. The idea of a suggested book list, comes from seminary days, when professors would have them with the syllabus. Often we were required to read so many. Why not have a help list for new or growing Christians? I believe one of the best books I have just read is The COVERING by Hank Hanegraaff. This book is on a must read list as far as I am concerned. Think about it. Again thanks for the good news. agape, justme |

1331 | is selling in a church building fine? | John 2:13 | justme | 59458
Edb:I like much of what you said. Lots of food for thought. I have a thought, and wonder how you would respond. When I go to any Christian Book store CBD or the small town type, they have such a mish mash of autors that come from such wide range of perspectives. WOF over here and Liberal over here and the consistancy is no where to be found. As we know unless you are up to speed with who is who you can be led astray pretty easy. If a church had it's own book store, with wise leadership that could be a real help to growing Christians. That would be if the church is large enough. If the church is small then a book list would be well worth while, if the person was well grounded to make up such a list. I could see the list being on a back table for people to pick up. However if the church was large enough, hours could be set to not interfer with worship or other services. Just a thought, I came up with to make it more interesting on how to help churches grow Christians more in line with correct theology. I could see no reason this would be considered merchandising, if done in a mannor that does not effect Sunday worship. agape. justme |

1332 | Not my will? | Rom 5:6 | justme | 59409
Hank: I think carnal fits the bill pretty well. However, I seldom hear that word used. Carnal is for sure Biblical, and in context understood by more, than other words. How is you heart, now that you are wired for super charge. I sincerely remember you in prayer. To answer you, my knee had a week of relief. Now the sever ache keeeps me awake at night. I see the Doctor tommrow, again. I am hoping this is part of the healing that takes 6 weeks. agape, justme |

1333 | is selling in a church building fine? | John 2:13 | justme | 59407
Sir Pent: Oh, I am sorry, for some reason my computer does not pick up some ofthe information below the name Sir Pent. This has happened one other time. Thank goodness ithas been with very kind people like your self. I am glad you are back agai. I have always been a Baptist church until three years ago. No we go to a non-denom. Calvary Chapel. This is a wonderfull time of seeing that churches can function much differently and still have worship that is very different from my past experiences. So, I admire that you have looked into so many yourself. agape, justme |

1334 | is selling in a church building fine? | John 2:13 | justme | 59250
Sir Pent:I see you have been on the Forun just over a year, that's good. I wish we had some info on you. I wonder if there are other ways to consoder churches allowing the selling of items in church? I have seen one church that sold donuts, pop, and other food items during church service. I was most uncomfortable with this to say the least. I think it was disrespectful, rude and distracting ot the worship time. Having said that, may I say something more respectful for all concerned. I have dry mouth, from the many medications I take. I have a spill resistant cup that I carry and drink as needed. Our church rents sapce from a senior citizen center. There is a coke machine in the back. Our church has three kinds of free coffee, tea, and some time pastries. Never are these sold, they are for relaxing and talk before the service. Our youth have aafter the service had a B B Q and sold hot dogs, handburgs and drinks, as a fund raiser. I have found nothing wrong with this way of doing fund drives for the youth, or refreshment before the service. This has been a very good way for people to come and fellowship before the service. I attended one church that had a Christian book sstore that was great! So I can see no harm in that, can you? Our church is contempoary and we have grown from a few to two services of about 100 each. We also have a pot luck once a month. I have been in a Baptist church most all my life. For the last three years we have made a change. We drive 1 hour plus a tole bridge each way to go to church and return home. For me and my family spiritual growth has been increased just by a more relaxed worship service. This does not mean everyone would enjoy this kind of church. I respect others who need a formal worship service. I am not too far from sixty and having been a pastor I find the change was a God send to us. So, I hope you widden you thinking just a bit. God bless. agape, justme |

1335 | Not my will? | Rom 5:6 | justme | 59245
Hank:I agree with you about backsliding does not mean losing our salvation. Having grown up in the early 1950's the term "backsliden" was often used in the Baptist churches I grew up in. I have never related the word with losing salvation, backsliding was the term only for those who had become carnal. This has been my experience, and perhaps others have had a different understanding. The word Trinity is found no where in the New Testament either, however we do have the proof for using the word. I have related the word backsliding to Peter in Matthew 26:69 to 75, Luke 22:31,32. Also in I Timothy 5:15 refers to turrning to satan. In Revelation 2:4 there it refers to turning from our first love. Living in a carnal state, is to my understanding, to be considered to be "backsliden". I am not tring to split hairs, but I have just never considered or related "Backsliding" as in the same contex of losing ones salvation. Maybe, as I stated it is a term used differently from one group to another. So, I am saying, I am not quite so sure we should slash "backsliding", anymore than the word Trinity, and others that have simular meanings for words mmentioned in the Bible. I hope this gives you some more thought about slashing words. I mean this with no disrespect, only in pure brotherly love. agape. justme |

1336 | Hi JesusFreak | 1 Cor 14:34 | justme | 59021
Melanie: I have never seen anyone put out mass quanity of notes and answers as you. I am not questioning your walk. I question if you understand what this Forum is about. The Forum is not a chat room! There is no way for you to answer now over 100 items in less than 110 hours, with giving proper time to pray and read the profile background and all the background notes to have the information you need to answer things with a well informed and right spirit. You appear to be very impulsive. Perhaps you need to consider what Kalos has said with humility, rather than defensiveness. You should know if Kalos had said something unkind about you I would say the same to him. I am not playing selective pick on you. I only am tring to make your time on the forum, a time that will be encouraging and uplifting for everyone! The choice is yours of course. However, I see no need to continue to justify the Forum rules, or Kakos, to you. I have more needs in spiritual issues to be involved with this Forum. You take what advice I give and sift through it, if there is is something that is worth while to you, good. If you feel my suggestions are of no value, than toss them to the wind. I hope this settles our discussion, for there is nothing further for either of us to say. Blessings, justme. |

1338 | Hi JesusFreak | 1 Cor 14:34 | justme | 58988
Melanie: Welcome to the Forum! Every one is welcome, and the Forum is a place we show respect and kindness. I am sad when I read unkind things you have said about Kalos. Kalos has been with the Forun form Feb. 2001 and contributed almost 3000 noted and answers. Where as you have been with us 5 days and written 96 mostly notes. You have been quite busy! I kindly express in very sincere terms that you should learn your way as who is the "poor man"! Kalos is not the poor man by any means! I also suggest you read the notes in green that you agree to when submitting a note. Is down grading Kalos publicly, for anyone who comes on this web site read, a responce you are proud of? Frankly, when I see in 5 days you have written 96 itens it concerns me. This is not a chat room! Perhaps if you have nothing better to do than down grade Forum people who try their best to abide with the forum's rules, you might find better use of you time gossiping elsewhere. I am being quite direct with you but I do so with the hope you can see the Forum a little more serious, as most of us do. Even if I totally disagree theologically with someone I do not have to down grade or belittle them for all to read. I hope you stay with us, but be more sensitive about respecting others. agape, justme |

Makarios: Thank you friend! This was a more excellent way to end the rehash over and over. At times I wish there were more user friendly instructions when a person signs in, to get in the forum. I would also require something to be included about some basic profile info. I think this would be helpful, to better understand and respond to questions. Again, very well done and thank you! Oh, your profile is very well done. I was saved in 1983, and we have a lot in common. The lists you give in the profile are a good idea. You are an encouragement to us all. agape, justme |

1340 | Isn't adultrey grounds for divorce? | Hosea | justme | 58196
Aristarchus:There are many answers to the question on divorce, adultrey, remarriage, and the lists gets so compleciated, it become a tangled mess for justification. There is really only one reason for divorce, HARDNESS OF HEART. Adulyrey is forgiveable. The problem is damaged emotioms that result in hard hearts. God knowing women and men are human and emotions can kill not only the spirit but the body as well. Either way divorce or working to restore trust and love takes time, and pain. Very few Christians are willing to go through the pain it requires to fix it right. There are circumstances that end the marriage with no hope of restoration. But just because you don't male me happy is not justified in scripture anywhere. agape, justme |
