121 | "we are healed" means what? | Is 53:5 | terrib | 116426
J Hunt, Many preachers take this verse out of context. This has nothing to do with physical ailments. It has to do with our relationship with the Father. The whole verse talks about spiritual qualities; transgessions, iniquitiies and chastisement. We are healed in our relationship that was destroyed by Adam. Isaiah 53:6 (KJV)... "and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." The context of Isaiah is talking about the sin offering that Jesus came to be not about physical healing. Although, through Christ, we have the power through the Holy Spirit to perform healing as He did. (Eph 2:6 KJV) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: (present tense) Peace terrib |

122 | God told what prophet to shave his beard | Ezek 5:1 | terrib | 151507
Greetings Dannyboyd, Welcome! Eze 5:1 And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp knife, take thee a barber's razor, and cause it to pass upon thine head and upon thy beard: then take thee balances to weigh, and divide the hair. terrib |

123 | Gatekeeper's charge to warn of danger | Ezek 33:6 | terrib | 147963
Seeker1940 and Brothers, Eze 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand. Ah...how this has hit a target in my heart. Thank you for opening this vision up to me again. For I see in me a certain complacency in the comfort in Christ. And I also see a time when I am not doing all that I can and am able to do for my Savior. "but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand". Thy judgment has come into my heart, Oh Lord. My God, my Father, forgive me for not doing all I can do. I see the sword coming and I have not sounded the alarm. I am worse than a worm. I have let my enemy overthrow me. Safe in my world I venture not out. I have betrayed my love. My God, my Father, forgive me. The tears are on my pillow and I put a cover over my head. I see the eye of the Lord upon me and He sees my workings. My God, my Father, forgive me. terrib |

124 | Who is speaking? | Dan 10:13 | terrib | 151970
(Daniel 10:13 KJV) But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. I can't find the reference I once saw that the person speaking is Gabriel. Does anyone have this reference? Thanks, terrib |

125 | Who is speaking? | Dan 10:13 | terrib | 151979
Hi Kalos, I didn't look at previous chapters since the vision started in chap 10. From the description of the angel I almost thought it was the Son of God speaking because it is about the same as that in Revelations. But then the phrase "came to help me", then I thought, why would the Son need help. Thanks, terrib |

128 | Matthew's genealogy of Josef, not Jesus | Matthew | terrib | 152246
Hi Olivier456, To expand on Tim's answer, consider this: The Generations of Jesus: The legal: Joseph The Gospel of Matthew was written by Matthew (also called Levi [Mar 2:14]) a Jew. The Seed line: Mary The Gospel of Luke was written by Luke the physican (a Greek and a Gentile). Paul does not count him among the circumsion (Col 4:14). The parent stock of the whole human family, thus showing Jesus to be the promised “Seed of the woman" and the promised seed of Abraham. (Genesis 3:15 KJV) And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.[note: "her seed"] And the promise of the "seed of Abraham": (Galatians 3:16 KJV) Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. [note: "thy seed"](Ref. Gen 22:18) Therefore the lineage of Joseph AND Mary both came through Abraham which came through Adam and satisfing the promises. Thus proving that Jesus was of the stock and "promise" to Abraham, legally (Joseph) and physically (Mary). Hope this helps, terrib |

129 | sexuality | Matt 4:7 | terrib | 151829
Hello jtvd, Good question. Now...which chamber is the bullet in? (Matthew 4:7 KJV) Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (Matthew 6:24 KJV) No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. How much of the world can I hang onto? Proclaim to your date just where you stand. For once the roller coaster goes over that first hill, the ride isn't over until it is finished. Each man is built different but what is not of faith is sin.(Romans 14:23 KJV) terrib |

130 | sexuality | Matt 4:7 | terrib | 151891
Hi jtvd, Maybe you could explain what "kissing romanticly" means to you? Does this include arousal or using other parts of the mouth besides the lips? (James 1:14 KJV) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. (James 1:15 KJV) Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. When do you know that it is time to stop "making out"? And at that time, can you stop? When does the partner become aroused? Can you tell? Is she or he starting on the path of lust? Just when does this take place? Do not put a stumbling stone in front of your brother. terrib |

Hi jtvd, I believe Doc and I have given you very good advice, Biblical advice. A while back it was even risky to kiss a girl on the cheek. It was gentlemanly to kiss her hand. But Hollywood and TV have destroyed chivalry and chastity. terrib |

132 | Raca what does it mean? | Matt 5:22 | terrib | 152581
Greetings Gomer371, Here is some more information beside what Hank has already written. The thought of the context runs from Mat 5:21 thru 26 (Matthew 5:21 KJV) Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: (Matthew 5:22 KJV) But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. (Matthew 5:23 KJV) Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; (Matthew 5:24 KJV) Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. (Matthew 5:25 KJV) Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. (Matthew 5:26 KJV) Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing. Raca : rhaka It comes from a verb signifying to be empty, vain; and hence, as a word of contempt, denotes senseless, stupid, shallow-brains. Jesus teaches here that to use such words is a violation of the spirit of the sixth commandment (Thou shall not kill), and if indulged, may lead to a more open and dreadful infraction of that law. "Thou fool", is a spiteful word, and comes from hatred; looking upon him, not only as mean and not to be honoured, but as vile and not to be loved; “Thou wicked man, thou reprobate.” And so by this, putting ones self on the level with God and passing judgement. Jesus, here magnifies the sixth commandment from the sword to the heart. Not destroying the old law but taking it to a higher level, elevating it from a law of the flesh to a law of the spirit. terrib |

133 | g'day, this is just saying hello. | Matt 6:9 | terrib | 150099
Hi Matt, Glad you came by the forum. There is always someone here to help with Bible answers. At one stage or another in our lives we all have questions and this is a good place to try and find the answers that pertain to you in your walk with the Lord. In the meantime, while your thinking about that question, continue in your quest to get to know our Father and the Son, for He desires this also, and that is why He gave us His love letter - the Bible. Mat 6:9 "...Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name." Your friend, terrib |

134 | g'day, this is just saying hello. | Matt 6:9 | terrib | 150112
Hi Matt, You wrote: "sometimes i sin, without realising it whether its my mouth that gives me trouble (swearing) or something i may do against the lord" Just by what you said in this post, you are realizing it! You are growing in the Lord. Look at the disciples, it took them three years to learn just a little about God, and still they were not all convinced. We all learn at different rates and by how much we are willing to let the Lord direct our lives. Jesus said: Joh 14:13 I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Joh 14:14 If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it. Joh 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments. Joh 14:16 I will ask the Father to give you another Helper, to be with you always. Joh 14:17 He is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, for it neither sees him nor recognizes him. But you recognize him, for he abides with you and will be in you. So, in your devotions, ask, ask the Lord to help you. If we truly seek His ways, He will answer. And, you have probably heard it said that a baby must learn to crawl before he can walk. All things have their place and time. God has plenty of time but we are the ones that are on limited time, so keep pressing forward. And always acknowledge what He has done for you and thank Him. terrib |

135 | what does God say about communication? | Matt 6:9 | terrib | 152407

136 | what does God say about communication? | Matt 6:9 | terrib | 152421
Dear preciosa, RE: “communication being a leadership quality” A picture is worth a thousand words. In leadership, a leader will be communicating this picture; sound moral principle, unimpaired, completeness, uprightness, honesty and sincerity. (2 Timothy 3:17 KJV) “That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” A leader must communicate integrity first of all, for he will be communicating himself. (Psalms 25:21 NASB) Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for You. (Proverbs 11:3 NASB) The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the crookedness of the treacherous will destroy them. "I am sure that in estimating every man's value either in private or public life, a pure integrity is the quality we take first into calculation, and that learning and talents are only the second." Thomas Jefferson, 1792 (Campus Crusade for Christ) Other aspects of leadership: Courage, Vision, Faithfulness, Availability, Teachability, Wisdom and Perseverance. For study, read 2 Timothy Communication: The act of imparting, conferring, or delivering, from one to another; as the communication of knowledge, opinions or facts. Know your material that you are trying to convey! (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Longfellow once said, "sometimes we may learn more from a man's errors, than from his virtues." Careful examination of the lives of several leaders described in the Old Testament indicates that the purpose of leadership is not fame, power, or fortune, but to lead people with truth and righteousness. Leaders, as well as ordinary people, must be ethical and should not cover up injustices, even on the part of loved ones. They must also realize that no good comes from being interested in vengeance and the settling of old scores. And lastly but most firstly: Pray and seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance in all your goings and comings and be willing to accept His direction. And when you have worn holes in the knees of your trousers, get up, put on a new pair and start again. (Luke 22:42b KJV) nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. Hope this helps, terrib |

137 | On earth in earth | Matt 6:10 | terrib | 150141
Hi Tim, Question for you about Greek prepositions. KJV Mat 6:10 "...Thy will be done in (epi) earth, as it is in (en) heaven. Could you explain the two usages of the word "in" in the above Scripture? Some translations use "on earth". The use of "on earth" seems to have an implication towards planetary or spherical and is impersonal compared to "in earth" which has an implication towards man, flesh, which is directly personal. Jesus always related the difference between flesh and spirit and here in the Lord's prayer I see the term "in earth" (flesh) as it is "in heaven" (spirit). Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Thanks, Your brother, terrib |

138 | On earth in earth | Matt 6:10 | terrib | 150152
Hi Tim, Yes, "...as in heaven also upon earth." That phraseology has a better value to me. That is what the ASV has, "as in heaven, so on earth." Thanks, terrib |

140 | Narrow gate or road first? | Matt 7:14 | terrib | 111918
Greetings BDE, Strait: narrow, close, not broad. When Jesus talked with the people of His time He always related to things they were familiar with. No doubt in Mat 7:14 He was comparing the way to salvation with the gates to a city. Many cities had wide open gates where the main road was broad and many travelers would come and go. And then there were smaller gates that led into the city but they were very narrow and hard to navigate and not often used. The paths that were behind those small gates were also narrow and even hard to turn around in. Compare ((Num 22:26 KJV) And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.) Thus the similitude to entering into the kingdom of God. One must purpose to go through the smaller gate being aware that it would take more effort to travel. The flesh likes the easy way, without restrictions. One must enter the gate first before you can get on the path that leads to salvation. The narrow path only has One Way! terrib |
