121 | What was the mark on Cain put by God? | Genesis | glory777 | 18781
casiv- You answer it was the mark of the beast. Show me scriptural evidence it is so. I do not find it anywhere in scripture. Unless it is, do not come to conclusions. It will only mislead those who seriously wish to know. Debbie |

122 | What was the mark on Cain put by God? | Genesis | glory777 | 18782
Greetings lbaley- No one knows what the mark was, but God put the mark there to protect him (Gen.4:14). What a loving God we have, that He would do that for even someone who was a murderer! God's blessings, Debbie |

123 | Your best argument against evolution? | Genesis | glory777 | 59742
Vannessa- Go to www.icr.org. It is the institute for creation research. If they don't have the answer there, it wasn't asked! First, though, you have to know what the opposition has for an argument for evolution. It takes a greater leap of faith to believe that out of nothing can come a giant explosion to form something. And then, by chance, certain protiens, etc. come together and mingle just right with other stuff to start life. Anyway, they have the answers to questions that could be asked and counters to anything anyone could come up with to be pro-evolution. STAND STRONG, GIRL! Debbie |

124 | Chronology of creation? | Gen 1:1 | glory777 | 9234
In the chronological history in chapter 1 it is plants, animals, man. Plants were created for animals and man to eat - no pain, death, fear were in the earth at that time. Everything at that time was "good", but it was not until Adam was created that it was "very good". I also just read, or heard, that when Adam saw all the animals and realized that they were male and female (all had an opposite sex) that he realized that none of them would be an appropreate helpmate for him. I think it was Greg Laurie (www.harvest.org) that said Adam probably didn't think a hippo would be a suitable counterpart :) . Debbie |

125 | Chronology of creation? | Gen 1:1 | glory777 | 9303
I believe that sometimes we get too serious. I think there are many times that God is laughing (maybe at our efforts to categorize and figure Him out?) and wants us to have some fun too. Bible study and sharing should have an element of laughter once in a while. Thank you. I wish I could have thought of the line, but it was Pastor Laurie that said it. Peace and Joy- Debbie |

126 | how can you fight evolution? | Gen 1:1 | glory777 | 11234
I have recomended this site also. I believe it also has a place where you can give them your name and address and you will get monthly newsletters about what ICR is finding out about new proofs to discredit the THEORY of evolution. Remember, it was always called "theory" and still has no positive proof to back it up. However, the Bible is being shown to be historically accurate. Isn't God awesome? His wonders never cease - looking at the animal world is enough to make us see the incredible imagination our God has. Debbie |

127 | The bible is a work of fiction - discuss | Gen 1:1 | glory777 | 15542
I agree, Sir- If they are genuinely on a quest, there are ample threads dealing with most questions. If there are still questions, then let them post. But when a person comes on out of "pity" for those of us who know the Lord God and know of all His blessings, I would call it an antogonistic post. There is no opening for honest discussion. In Christ - there is no other Way- Debbie |

128 | 1.From where did cain got his wife | Gen 1:1 | glory777 | 18668
REGO- If you type in "Cain" in the "Search" space it will give you all the threads dealing with Cain and should answer your question. Peace in Christ- Debbie |

129 | How old is the earth scripturally? | Gen 1:1 | glory777 | 19396
Phillip You know, it is a good thing you can take what God says as literal so often. Otherwise, Jesus could have been in the tomb for centuries, and, in my few years on this earth, I would still be working nonstop because it would still be Monday! And do you know how bad Jonah would have smelled by now being in the belly of a big fish all this time? If you can accept timeframes for all of these, why is it so hard to believe in the time frame for God's creation as shown in Genesis? Break down part of the Word, and you start to erode it all. Keep your faith, my friend. I would, and have, suggested people visit ICR.org to get more information on the truths of Genesis. They are scientist who are Christians first and start their investigations based on the theory that God's word is true - not that evolution is true, and how can we adjust God's word to it. Bless you- Debbie |

130 | Where is the Loving God???? | Gen 1:26 | glory777 | 59510
inheavenseyes- Yes, God is a God of Love. He loved us so much that He will not force us to love Him and He gave us free will. It was man's choice that allowed evil to come into this world and it is our choice to believe that Jesus died for our sins. It is our choice to rest on the promises He gives us (I will never leave you nor forsake you ...my peace I give to you, etc.). We also don't know the eventual outcome of many of the tragedies, but I do know that God can take the worst situations and cause them to work for His good and His plans. Look at the Columbine shootings. I understand because of the faith of the one girl, so many were brought to salvation. In areas where persecution is highest, faith in Christ is growing by leaps and bounds. Those who are believers are tried and made stronger by bad situations - it is a time to rely more on God. I also believe hard times happen so the Lord gives us opportunities to grow in faith so we can be there to help others who are going through similar situations. Hope this helps, some. Sometimes, what it takes is not so much "Words of Wisdom" but a shoulder to lean and cry on. Love in Christ- Debbie |

131 | Adam and Eve, no fall from grace? | Gen 2:16 | glory777 | 31719
Lionstrong- This may cause more questions, but when God created Adam, didn't He make them in His image? Does God need grace? No, after the fall, that is when man needed grace. Prior to that, I agree, grace was not needed. Am I wrong? Grace is not bestowed if there is no need for it. And thank God He bestows it so generously to us who do! Blessings- Debbie |

132 | How did Adam sin if he did KNOW sin. | Gen 2:17 | glory777 | 15041
Psalm16- They did realize they were doing wrong. They were given a choice, just as Lucifer was given a choice. God told them not to eat of the fruit and they chose to disobey Him. True, Eve was bequiled, caused to question but when she knew that the serpent was offering opposition to what God required, she knew it was wrong. Then she offered the fruit to Adam, who again had been told by God not to eat, and he gave over His obedience to God to following what Eve offered. Satan then became the dominant force to contend with. Instead of holy love and sex the way God intended it, lust came into the picture. Where before the body was pure and holy, it became a thing to be hidden. But I think it went even farther than that. Not only were the physical bodies covered up, but I would put forth the conjecture that their emotions and thoughts toward each other also became hidden. But the same things that caused Eve to sin and Adam to follow are still the things that Satan uses to get us to sin today. Lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and lust for power. Debbie |

133 | Forty word limit?!?!? | Gen 5:13 | glory777 | 13385
Hi Norrie- I think that is the ampersand (sp). I DO like the idea of the spell check. I no that in sum things it does knot help, though! Debbie |

134 | Forty word limit?!?!? | Gen 5:13 | glory777 | 13425
Didn't know it was spelled incorrectly! Boy, do we need a spell check! Love in Christ, Debbie |

135 | Are Enoch and Elijah The Two Witnesses? | Gen 5:24 | glory777 | 11261
Steve- In Joshua 1:1 it state "After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord...". I personally think that the two witnesses are going to be Enoch and Elijah. They are the only 2 in scripture that haven't had a physical death. However, another train of thought puts the witnesses as being Elijah and Moses as representing the Law and Prophets. Take your pick. But I put more credence on Enoch because of Heb. 9:27. |

136 | What Happened To Enoch? | Gen 5:24 | glory777 | 11494
I know I am terribly outnumbered here, and I think you are probably right about Moses and Elijah. But I sure would like for it to be Enoch. I guess because I would love to have my name be the "Woman who walked with God". Can't wait to see him. Stubbornly, Debbie |

137 | who are the sons of god and how can one | Gen 6:4 | glory777 | 16986
calbabs- This is a verse that has some controversy. I believe it to mean, men from the line of Seth, holy men. Very easy to become a son of God. Repent of your sins, acknowledge that Jesus died on the cross for you, believe that He is God and ask Him to be lord of your life. Debbie |

138 | Eating meat with blood in it: Gen. 9:4 | Gen 9:4 | glory777 | 111860
Thanks, EdB- After that discourse, I know much more than I ever wanted to know! I think I am going to have my salad, now - and from now on! glory777 |

139 | Who was the first drunk in the Bible? | Gen 9:21 | glory777 | 61828
The first mentioned was Noah but Lot also got drunk - more than once and look what happened. Although it does not tell of the affect on the person doing the drinking, it has major consequences for those observing and close to him, affecting generations after. A word of caution to anyone! :) Debbie |

140 | diversity of languages? | Gen 10:5 | glory777 | 58202
When the sons of Noah moved away, this verse says they had different languages. I thought that didn't happen until Babel? I know everything fits, but this has me stumped. Debbie |
