1141 | A living understanding of Matt. 6:13?? | NT general Archive 1 | skccab | 187211
Greetings Badgerbob I don't think I understand your question. Just what needs to be quieted in your heart? From your first paragraph, it sounds like you understand the battle between the old man and the new inner man (see Rom. 7:4-25). It can sometimes be a battle or just a little skirmish. The good news is that we win in Jesus' victory. When I;m in one of those skirmishes I just think of the old mas as being deposed but not banished so he's just trying to regain his dominion (but he don't stand a chance!) So to reiterate - just what is it in your heart that needs to be quieted? Maybe someone here can help you. blessings cheri |

1143 | Are tithes n offerings required nowadays | Hebrews | skccab | 187171
Just a recap: my post sounded like you can give your money and just sit back and let others do the "field work." That is in no way what I had intended to imply. There's always "field work" to be done by ALL believers. blessins cheri |

1144 | Are tithes n offerings required nowadays | Hebrews | skccab | 187168
Greetings Eyes4Zion I'm not sure about the empowerment to get wealth and prosperity (I tithe and give, and wealth just seems to run in the opposite direction). But I do believe that if you allow the Spirit to direct you in where you plant you financial seed, ie a church that preaches the Word, a church that is growing then the "return" if you will cannot be measured in today's measuring scales. I believe that each person that comes to the Lord because of that church, each hungry person who is helped with food or clothing, each scared, lonely person visited in nursing home/hospital by someone from that church, etc, is all laid to your "account" as if you personally had done it to "the least of these." We don't tithe/give to get wealth, we give because God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor 2:9). blessings cheri |

1150 | gifts of Healing and Miracles for today. | 1 Cor 12:9 | skccab | 187088
Hi Royalone, I'm happy to find someone like-minded here. I am a recipiant of healings (a flattened, broken ankle bone that was prayed over, and hours later showed no signs of injury, just a lot of dried blood), miracles (nothing major, just a typical Ga. thunderstorm with broken windshield wipers, so the area in front of car received no rain on it as we drove on to a very important appointment). And these are just 2 occasions, there were more; and could have only been of the Lord, for it was in His Name that we prayed and believed; the devil certainly didn't get any credit. And the praying in the Spirit (in tongues) is for the edifying of the persons praying or persons being prayed for. As Rom. 8:28 says: Likewise the Spirit helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Neither can I find anywhere in the Bible where the workings of the Holy Ghost is cut off as no longer to be needed. If anything, we need Him now active in our lives as much as then. This world is terribly evil. blessings cheri |

Hi Salv, My belief is for pre. But whenever it is to take place the forum will help you get grounded and deeply rooted in the Word so that you can be sure that whenever the Father tells Jesus to go get His people (1 Cor. 15:52; 1 Th. 4:16-17), you can be assured that you will be among them. 1153 | Meaning of 4 beasts in Revelation chapte | Revelation | skccab | 186943
Hi Little Maggie I have checked several commentaries and they all pretty much agree (more or less), so I chose the use an excerpt for John Wesley's Explanatory Notes because, as long as his is it's the shortest one I have. Wesley's Explanatory Notes on Rev. 4:6-7: And in the midst of the throne - With respect to its height. Round about the throne - That is, toward the four quarters, east, west, north, and south. Were four living creatures - Not beasts, no more than birds. These seem to be taken from the cherubim in the visions of Isaiah and Ezekiel, and in the holy of holies. They are doubtless some of the principal powers of heaven; but of what order, it is not easy to determine. It is very probable that the twenty - four elders may represent the Jewish church: their harps seem to intimate their having belonged to the ancient tabernacle service, where they were wont to be used. If so, the living creatures may represent the Christian church. Their number, also, is symbolical of universality, and agrees with the dispensation of the gospel, which extended to all nations under heaven. And the "new song" which they all sing, saying, "Thou hast redeemed us out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation," Rev_5:9, could not possibly suit the Jewish without the Christian church. The first living creature was like a lion - To signify undaunted courage. The second, like a calf - Or ox, Eze_1:10, to signify unwearied patience. The third, with the face of a man - To signify prudence and compassion. The fourth, like an eagle - To signify activity and vigour. Full of eyes - To betoken wisdom and knowledge. Before - To see the face of him that sitteth on the throne. And behind - To see what is done among the creatures. Hope this helps blessings cheri |

1155 | Mark 14:51 | Mark 14:51 | skccab | 186886
Hi Doc, Words to comtemplate "church tradition." Renaldo is not offering "gospel" any more than our esteemed scholars of old. He is just offering perhaps a fresh view of the scene in question. When it comes right down to it, we won't know many of these things for sure till our Lord tells us in person. Yes, the Holy Spirit does give revelation to us today, but He still has to deal with our feeble human brains. I bet the old scholars had to fight through a lot of opposition too, for their views at the time were probably contrary to "church tradition" of the time. blessings cheri |

1156 | Tribulation---7 years long? | Dan 12:11 | skccab | 186880
I've always thought they would be Elijah and Enoch - reason? The Bible says it is appointed to man to die once - these two were caught away from earth alive, they never died. And the only thing we know for sure about the 2 is that they are live, marked by God and appointed by God to preach for a certain length of time And then they will be killed, left alone dead and then raised from the dead and caught away again. But my idea of them being Elijah and Enoch is definitely in the minority, most do think Elijah and Moses, cause of the Transfiguration. blessings cheri |

and a wonderful day to you Searcher, I was responding to the great response of Kalos How reliable is the Kingdom Linear. If I'd been a JW wavering I would have been convinced to at least do further searching on my beliefs. It was very persuasive. I'm still new here and mess up the thread line sometimes, but I think I'm getting batter. Please bear with me, I will learn eventually! blessings cheri |

Hello valigirl33 The Bible does not call doing such a sin, but Paul does stongly advise against it in 1 Cor. 2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? hope this helped blessings cheri |
