1121 | What is apostasy? | 2 Thess 2:3 | skccab | 187958
Thank you, ebrian, You said that so beautifully. I know nothing of the Greek/Aramaic translations, so I couldn't use them. I've always seen the Rapture and the Lord's Day as two separate events. But we all have to remember that not all things are absolutely clear. Today we debate those two issues, just 2200 years ago (give or take) the Israelites could debate the Messiah coming as a Servant or a Conqueror - they could only see one advent - but which would it be? Although I am a pre-tribulationist myself, the one thing we can all agree on is that we SHALL be with the Lord, either before, in the middle or after the tribulation!!! Live in His blessings till He calls us home cheri |

Hi there, Just a thought - how about his and Sara's bodies being dead to procreation and God recreated the reproductive organs and mechanisms so that the son of promise could be conceived. Wouldn't it stand to reason just 34 years later it would still be in working order? Therefore, that's not the big deal, the recreating the system in the two to begin with is the big deal. No particular scripture to back this, just an idea. blessings cheri |

1125 | Do you have scriptures to affirm? | 2 Thess 2:3 | skccab | 187810
Hello, Mark Thanks for holding down the fort so to speak while i was at work. The scriptures I use to describe the rapture before the tribulation are the very same ones these fine folk use for the second coming. I just happen to see the "last trump" being just that - not the last and seventh trumpet - but as the assembly of Israelites would be called to gather by the blowing of a trump or ram's horn - so this "last trump" is God's last call to the Church to assemble and be caught up with the Lord and to be forever with the Lord. I cannot express it any other way. blessings cheri |

1126 | Do you have scriptures to affirm? | 2 Thess 2:3 | skccab | 187773
Hi Mark, You said it much better than I did, but you took my stance, the catching away happens before the tribulation, not after. It is not the second coming of Christ for He does not come to the earth but in the clouds to catch away His own. In the second coming He does come to earth with His own to set up the millennial kingdom. Thank you for your response, Mark blessings cheri |

1127 | Do you have scriptures to affirm? | 2 Thess 2:3 | skccab | 187730
Hi Royal Sorry took so long for me to respond, been very busy, had some down time at work tonight and read your verses. And I've never disagreed, those verses indeed do talk about the Second Advent, but not the catching away of the church. I have 4 questions (one is just a common sense, logic question, but I'm sure we get our logic from God): 1 - After Rev. 3 the Church is no longer seen as being on earth. If the church is still waiting to be caught away, where are we? 2 - REv. 19:9 (this is before the 2nd Advent) If the church is still on earth, then who are those present at the marriage supper of the Lamb? 3 - Rev. 19:14, if the church is still on earth waiting to be caught away, then who makes up the armies of the Lord that return to earth with Him to set up the millennial kingdom? And the logic question: If the Church is to go thru the judgments of the tribulation then why would God bother with a catching away to begin with, especially since the church would be returning from this catching away almost immediately to be with the Lord in the millennium period. For what purpose would the rapture serve at the end of the tribulation? blessings cheri |

1128 | Saying "AMEN"...outloud? | Deut 27:20 | skccab | 187644
Hi again Mouse SouthernBelle said it right. Amen means so be it. And when your pastor says something that the Spirit witnesses with your spirit is right, you're just wanting to add your agreement to it byt saying Amen - (Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.) blessings cheri |

Hi Mouse, Just wanted to share this link with you: http://www.e-sword.net/downloads.html this is a very good resource to have (I'm not sure, but it wouldn't surprise me to find out everyone on this forum has it). But you just keep on keeping on with how you're handling God's Word. blessings cheri |

1131 | What Am I doing wrong? | Bible general Archive 3 | skccab | 187629
Amen, Mouse, Just keep on doing what you're doing. There is nothing wrong in it, if fact, there's everything right in it. The commentaries (for me anyway) are just to help clear up some questions that may arise. They are definitely not infallible; but they can be helpful. It sounds to me like you have very lovely days with God's Word ringing in your heart. Just keep on keeping on and you'll be just fine! blassings cheri |

1132 | Do you have scriptures to affirm? | 2 Thess 2:3 | skccab | 187577
Hi MRoyal, My understanding of the rapture and tribulation run like this: Jesus comes in the clouds to call His own away, He does not come to earth. The church is removed from earth to avoid the judgments that are to come (after all, we were judged at the corss, and in Jesus found not guilty). Then the tribulation, then the verses that you have quoted take place and the second coming of Christ takes place, His coming back to the earth to set up His millennial reign on earth. Yes, during this time Christians will be persecuted, but these are people who were not true Christians at the time of the rapture. blessings cheri |

1133 | God grant repentance? | Gal 3:23 | skccab | 187492
Hi Mark I don't know if Hopalong had this verse in mind, but could it be the one from Acts 7:57 where after Stephen finsihed preaching it says they cried out in a loud voice and stopped their ears and ran upon him in one accord. I can't think of any others. blessings cheri |

1134 | 2 bothersome questions | Bible general Archive 3 | skccab | 187481
Thank you Jeff, I had totally overlooked the fact that they were indeed under roman rule and that would explain much, wouldn't it? And I remember coming to that same conclusion about the stoning but had completely forgotten it, thank you for reminding me (note inside Bible on page now!!!). On that one, I knew there was an explanation!! |

1135 | 2 bothersome questions | Not Specified | skccab | 187459
Hi all, I used the word search and only got one hit that didn't help. I have 2 questions that I have had trouble reconciling. Hope someone can help. 1 - This one is just minor really. Jn. 18:39, the custom spoken of can't seem to be verified by the historians of that time (or the ones I've read of), does anyone have any information on this? 2 - This next one to me makes the Bible sound contradictory and I know that it is not! so I'm at fault here, I'm missing something: Jn. 18:31 the Jews are telling Pilate that it is unlawful for them (the Jews) to put any man to death but we all know the story of the woman they were wanting to stone for adultery (this was within their law; and Lev. has numerous items that were punishable by death). So what am I missing here? Thanks in advance for any help. |

1137 | how do we benefit from serving in church | NT general Archive 1 | skccab | 187314
Hi Sarah 2Cor 6:14 says not to be unequally bound with unbelievers. Teenage girls who immerse themselves in church are much more likely to meet Godly young men, the kind of men that make very good husbands (for they were probably raised by Godly parents). The pressures of being a young Christian in high school or college is tough enough without trying to date and make friends with lots of unbelievers. At least being in church amd meeting Godly friends would help balance the scales a bit. I pray your study will shine insight and understading in their hearts cheri |

1139 | Mans appropriate relation to animals? | Prov 12:12 | skccab | 187308
Hi all, May I give you my lean on that verse? I've always thought that it says delight yourself in the Lord and He will put inside your heart desires that He would have you to desire and then there would be absolutely no problem to Him to fulfill the desires, becasue they would in no wise be contrary to His Word. I hope that made sense. blessings cheri |

1140 | gifts of Healing and Miracles for today. | 1 Cor 12:9 | skccab | 187246
Hi hopalong I'm one of those that believe healings happen but not always for sure. 2 Kings 13:14 tells us that ELisha was sick with a sickness that would take his life 2Ki 13:14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And there are others, but that one popped in my remembrance right away blessings cheri |
