1 | what happens when you die? | Rev 20:4 | thetowns | 74446
skow: Are you asking what happens in general to everyone when they die? Or what happens to those who are saved by the grace of God? As a partial answer, in Revelations we see what will happen to those in the tribulation: Rev 20:4 "Then I saw thrones, and the people sitting on them had been given the authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus, for proclaiming the word of God. And I saw the souls of those who had not worshiped the beast or his statue, nor accepted his mark on their forehead or their hands. They came to life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5This is the first resurrection. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years had ended.) 6Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years." Since it says the rest of the dead will not rise until after the 1000 years, I believe this means they are in a state of 'rest', or the sleep of the dead until the great day of Judgement (would love other opinions on this). Rev 20:11 "And I saw a great white throne, and I saw the one who was sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. 12I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God's throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to the things written in the books, according to what they had done. 13The sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the grave gave up the dead in them. They were all judged according to their deeds. 14And death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death--the lake of fire. 15And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire." I also believe there can be an exception... Elijah was taken immediately up to heaven, as was, of course, Jesus the Christ. 2 Kings 2:11 "As they were walking along and talking, suddenly a chariot of fire appeared, drawn by horses of fire. It drove between them, separating them, and Elijah was carried by a whirlwind into heaven." I hope this helps! Blessings to those who follow the Christ! |

2 | Did not Job mentioned Dinosaurs ? | Gen 1:24 | thetowns | 74313
Neal; We're both going in the same direction! Sorry, I think our timing was a few minutes off! I responded to the earlier question on dinosaurs with scripture from Job. I sent my response and then saw your question! Sorry for our crossed wires! You can refer to that response, if you'd like. Blessings to all who follow the Christ. |

3 | significance | Jer 33:3 | thetowns | 74312
Jer 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. To me this is saying much the same thing John says in the New Testament: John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. I believe the key is that you ask with faith that it will be heard and answered. James also says: James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. It all comes back to the person praying being committed to Jesus; recognizing that he kneels before the King of the universe, and yet is heard. Blessings to all who follow the Christ. |

4 | Questions??? | Matt 27:3 | thetowns | 74230
Wow! This is a great question, that I believe could spark a lot of debate and interesting discussions. I don't know how others may read this, but when I read Matthew 27 verses 3 - 5, I see first that he realized the huge error of his ways: 3"When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders. 4"I have sinned," he said, "for I have betrayed innocent blood." However, this is followed in verse 5 by "So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself." I believe he was very much in the same boat as King Nebuchadnezzer, or Pharoah. Their evil was used to God's glory. Judas hanged himself, when he should have (in my opinion) repented and proclaimed the gospel for the remainder of his life. I do believe Judas was remorseful, but do not believe he repented, asked forgiveness for his sins, and was saved. God Bless you for a great and difficult question! |

5 | what leadership role did Joshua play | Josh 8:1 | thetowns | 74228
If you read Joshua Chapter 8, it seems to give examples both of his military might (found only by following God's directions), his role as the leader of the Israelites, and his clear leadership, as displayed at the end of the chapter: "There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded that Joshua did not read to the whole assembly of Israel, including the women and children, and the aliens who lived among them. There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded that Joshua did not read to the whole assembly of Israel, including the women and children, and the aliens who lived among them." Hope this helps! |
