2 | for today | OT general | bartay | 58587
Toungues, being a part of the Gifts given to believers for ministry must be for today or anyother day. To use the prayer language of the Holy Spirit, for we know not what to pray, is very uplifting. Romans 8:26 ¶Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 3 | So? | Rom 5:6 | bartay | 5757
The calling of God is determined through the input of the Holy Spirit. To try and reach the stage that brings salvation by any other way, or means, will not result in the fruits of the Spirit being evident in ones life. Unless a new direction is being realised within your inner, and outer man, then there is something not right with the walk you are having with Jesus Christ. Many believe, through man's teaching, that the path they are treading is the one Jesus walked, but man is more times than not wrong, and it should be your own Spirit walk which determines the truth. So though many are called, few are chosen, (Matthew 22:14) because the truth is not in them. If God is not walking the walk, and talking the talk, through the indwelling Spirit, then we are walking and talking aimlessly. |

4 | Should homosexuals be ordained? | Rom 1:27 | bartay | 5753
Should a murderer be ordained? Or a thief? To ordain someone who is clearly adverse to the laws and commands of the Lord, is heritical. A former homosexual, who has repented of the past, and been reborn of the Spirit, is no longer a homosexual, and as such is no longer banned from obtaining a position in God's Church. We all at one time were as bad as a homosexual, separated from God by sin. Our repentance brought the new birth, putting to death our old man of sin, and allowing us a sonship role with God. |

5 | do we have any free will? | Bible general Archive 1 | bartay | 5750
If we are sinning, we are the angels of Satan. Scripture tells us that Jesus told the Pharesees that they belonged to their father the Devil. The Pharesees were sinning because they had taken God's laws and commands and twisted them to suit their own ideals. 1John 3:8 says, He who commits sin is of the Devil; for the Devil has sinned from the beginning. The choice to sin does not have its source in the Holy Spirit. If we are taking our own willed decisions to sin then the question of do we have free will is answered. The real question should have been should we have free will. To be saved by grace through faith is determined by our obedience to God's way to receive salvation. The giving of grace, which I believe is the giving of the Spirit to live within us, evidences the love of God for us, and his love for others by our fruits of the Spirit. We cannot bring any of the fruits of the Spirit to bear through our own willed wisdom. These must be implemented by the Spirit who dwells within us, who knows the mind of the Father. Jesus said it all at Gethsemene when he called out to the Father, not my will, but thine be done. |

6 | Is God responsible for evil? | Bible general Archive 1 | bartay | 5745
The responsibility for evil, or sin, does not lie with God. The true source for evil happened before the Garden, and the forming of the two who fell. There was a war in Heaven in which Lucifer, and a third of the Angels, rebelled against God's authority. Because there was no evil, or sin, up to this time, there was no law or penelty for the evil created. So if sin was in the world before the law was given, and sin is not imputed where there is no law,(Romans 5:13) then the law God implemented in the Garden must have been put in place because of original sin. How does God deal with sin? First one must repent, obey God's instructions to receive eternal life, and become one with Christ. If the pair in the Garden were of the nature of Lucifer before the law given, then the law given was to bring repentance, through obedience to God's instruction, to not eat of the tree. If they obeyed they could have eternal life by being able to eat of the tree of life. Their failure to do what God instructed, banished them from the Garden. Jesus had this same temptation in the wilderness with Satan. Satan said if you are hungry eat, by making bread out of the stones. God said to Adam do not eat from the tree. Jesus said that man must live by the word of God alone, which Adam didn't as he denied the word of God. Satan again said to Jesus, throw yourself off this high pinnacle and you will not die. The Serpent said to Eve, eat of the tree you will not die. Jesus answered, you shall not tempt the Lord thy God. Adam did tempt the Lord ignoring the consequences for disobeying the word of the Lord, in the day that you eat of it you will die. The third temptation Satan tried on Jesus was to worship him (Satan) and he would give him (Jesus) to reign supreme over all the kingdoms of the earth. The Serpent said to Eve, you will be like God, knowing good from evil. Jesus answered, you will worship the Lord your God, and only he shall you serve. Eve took the worship of self by believing she could be as God knowing good from evil, and then served Adam with the temptation of eating from the tree. |

7 | Isn't God sovereign? | Bible general Archive 1 | bartay | 5744
I do not believe that God gave us free will. Free will is the motivating power that drives sin. If God gave to man, namely Adam and Eve and all prodigy after, freewill to choose, surely freewill must be another name for disobedience of God's command and law. There is no mention in scripture that man has been given freewill to do what he likes; in fact just the opposite is the case. God didn't say, you can choose to obey or not, He gave an ultimatum, if you don't obey you will die. There is no choice in that, it is a command, and was the first and only law that God implemented. It is the spiritual law. If one sees disobeying God as freewill, then obviously we have an awful lot of freewill sinners. For not only is freewill another name for disobeying God, but is also another name for sin. If one obeys, this first law God implemented for man, one has no need of any other laws, outside of that initial law. This law in the Garden was the first great law Jesus spoke of; to love God with all your heart, and have no other god's you obey; freewill makes a mockery of obedience, for it is another god which we obey, the god of self which is at enmity with God. For we are all carnal sold under sin. (Romans 7:14) Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Therefore, because the pair in the Garden did not keep God's law, they were of a carnal mind, which is at enmity with God. |

8 | Not my will? | Rom 5:6 | bartay | 5741
The predestination is a calling of God to those whom he has chosen to be called. He says, if you eat of the tree of life, and ignore the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you will live. If you decide to disregard what I am telling you, and decide that you through your own wisdom can live forever, you will die. To believe anything, or anyone, besides God, will result in eternal death. So predestination is not just being called, but believing the path the Lord directs to obtain eternal life, is the only way. To try and use self willed knowledge to obtain eternal life will bring failure. So it is thy will be done. I would rather be a eternal puppet serving the Lord, than a lost for all eternity self willed person. bartay |

9 | How do you know you have the Holy Ghost? | Acts 19:2 | bartay | 5324
It is not possible to be saved without the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Jesus said ye cannot enter the Kingdom unless you are born anew. Born of water and Spirit. The born again experience is witnessed by the fact of the Holy Spirit working in ones life to produce the fruits of the Spirit, or righteousness. If one's life has not changed from the old life, then there has been no grace extended, and without grace you haven't been saved. bartay |

10 | Were Eve's desires sinful? | Gen 3:6 | bartay | 5322
The sin the pair in the Garden committed was not so much eating of the tree, this was the end result of the sin, the sin was disobedience to God's command. Thou shalt not eat of the tree, and their disbelief in the consequences that God said would happen. They disbelieved the Lord, but believed the Serpent that they would not die, and in fact would be as great as God if they did eat. Using their own self willed wisdom, they believed the Serpent, and so rebelled against God. The only sin man can commit against God is disobedience. The other things man sees as sin are but the end result of disobedience. Jesus temptation was different because he believed God and his word, and so was not rebellious by deciding his own free willed thoughts. He in fact controlled his natural desire to save his own skin, knowing that God's word is undisputable. Not my will but thine. bartay |

11 | what God says about divorse/remarriage | Matt 5:31 | bartay | 2304
Matthew 5:31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. Jesus said that there was no excuse for divorce except adultery being committed. If you both are Christians then you must believe that it is God who has joined you together and no man must put that joining asunder. Paul spoke of one other reason for divorce which is if a believer is married to an unbeliever, and the unbeliever wishes to leave the marriage then it is alright to do so. 1 Corinthians 7:11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. 12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. 13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. 15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. I am quite sure that God would not have instructed your wife to obtain a divorce, and for her to say so goes against all scripture relating to marriage instituted by God. |

12 | Is Lucifer Satan? | Is 14:12 | bartay | 2301
Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! King James relates this star of the morning as applying to Lucifer. It appears to support the theory that before the rebellion in Heaven Lucifer was the top Angel. His transgression earned him banishment from Heaven to the earth, where because of his adverse conflict with God, he was renamed Satan, or an enemy of God. There is another portion of scripture from 2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: All of these verses seem to indicate that Lucifer, who was banished to the earth with a third of the Angels, and Satan, or the Devil, are one and the same character. |
