Cheri, I have been praying for your request. I thought about answering your post and frankly did not know whether I should or not because more people see it if it is not answered and are reminded to pray when they log on. I thought that was the best decision to leave it as is. Since this is not a chat room, we are limited in our interaction and are to remain in a more conservative, professional mode. Personally I have made it my policy not to sign any petitions at all, period. So please do not take it as a personal uncaring sign. Please forgive me for seeming cold by not responding to you but know that I have prayed for your friends. God will work it out, we must trust Him. There are sometimes in our lives when He is the only One who can comfort us. I am thinking this might be one of those times for you. I have heard about this matter in the news and it is so sad that a few who break the rules ruin it for everyone else. That is the way of life I have found. Deep hurt and pain. You are my sister in Christ and please accept my apology and know I will continue to pray for you and your friends. Maranatha

A good scripture to study might be where Paul talks with the people at Athens who were very intelligent. Read Acts 17:15-34 and see how Paul interacts with these people. My point being in Acts 17:21 (Now all the Athenians and the strangers visiting there used to spend their time in nothing other than telling or hearing something new.) Notice how Paul steers the conversation back to Christ. As you see in the last part of the chapter some began to sneer but some believed then Paul moved on. I take from this chapter that we can spend time with people telling them the gospel but not waste time with things other than the gospel. The gospel should be our main focus and bringing the conversation back to it is our aim. Then people have a choice - some believe, some do not, then we move on. Our commission is to sow the seed, God gives the increase. |

To the right you will see a section called Get Bible Text. Under the Search word section you can type a topic and pull up the verses to support it. I would suggest words such as but not limited to: God, man, covenant, promise, commitment. Since this is a general question you may find what you are looking for in the verses that come up for that word. If you have further questions regarding a particular context, we can provide more specific answers. Hope this helps.

8 | OVER TAXATION! | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 194982
Read the story of Paul the Apostle. He took no money and he also warned of those who preached the gospel for the money they got out of it. He called it dishonest gain. You can find him in Acts and in the Epistles. There are many good churches around. You might find one that does not focus so much on money but more on Christ Jesus.

14 | What is the reason God is speaking of ? | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 196181
The verse that you are looking for is do not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever. This is before you get married. Since you are already married it does not apply to you. You will have to do a thorough study on marriage and divorce as well as on your own motives to determine if your intentions are biblical. Begin with prayer and a personal study of God's word. Perhaps you may need to repent of trying to put away your wife. 1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; 1 John 1:7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |

15 | Biblical Prophecy Question | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 196467
The reason people don't recognize prophetic events is because of their lack of knowledge of the scriptures. One of the best examples of prophecy and its fulfullment is the book of Daniel. It gives the prophecy then the fulfillment. History backs this up. So if these things were literally fulfilled we expect that prophecy for the future will be literally fulfilled.

17 | NASB Study Bible Help | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 196586
You can go to bookstores and watch for sales in your area and find bibles at a reduced rate. Sometimes someone will order a bible with their name on it and then decide not to purchase it. This is an excellent time to shop for bargins. The only way to make a choice is to go yourself and examine them. I would suggest the New Inductive Study Bible: NASB because it shows you how to study the bible for yourself before going to commentaries. Of course all the others are helpful after you have done your initial study. May God bless you.

19 | Book of life are the lost to be found | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 196675
Just as God sent His Son in the fullness of time, He has appointed a time for His return. I am sorry I do not understand your questions or what point you are trying to make. As I understand it once a person dies, after that the judgment. Your initial question was an assumption that they will be given another chance during the 1,000 year reign. My answer was that they will be raised for the white throne judgement. They will not be given another chance. If you see that somewhere in scripture I would be interested to see it.
20 | CAN WOMEN WEAR PANTS TO CHURCH | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 196785
If you are in a church that has made it a policy not to wear pants to church, you will probably be uncomfortable if you do. It is offensive to some people. We can wear pants as there is no commandment that says you can't. We are not to dress like men but wear feminine clothes, pants, etc. Also not to wear them too tight or suggestive but modest apparel. Again if you have a church covenant that says don't wear them and you want to wear them, you might need to search for a different church. We are not to dress like men or act like men so the motivation for your wanting to wear the pants is something between you and God and you will need to pray about this as well as search the scriptures for your answer.
