1 | submission,meaning | Bible general Archive 4 | Searcher56 | 196563
God's day to you, the seer from god, With submission there must be headship. It is from two word under and order. There must be one head - two heads is a freak and something without a head cannot survive. For example, The Church submits to Christ, our Head (Eph 5:24). There is also -Church:Leaders (1Co 16:16; 1Th 5:12; Heb 13:17) -Citizens:Government (Rom 13:1-6; 1Pe 2:13-15; Tit 3:1) -Wives:Husbands (Eph 5:22-24; Col 3:18; Tit 2:5; 1Pe 3:1-7; 1Co 11:3) Every Christian is to submit to each other (Eph 5:21). 2 | how do i convince my wife to follow me | Bible general Archive 4 | Searcher56 | 198983
God's day to you, valspapa, and welcome to the SBF, As Doc wrote, we usually don't give advice here. However, I was suggest you and your wife pray together on this matter. Noramlly, I'd advise you talk with your pastor. You need to decide if that is good. If you know of a mature Christian friend in another city, you may want ask them. I commend you on wanting to grow in Him. I believe you need to find someone to disciple you. It doesn't have to be a member of the church you attend. Soon, you should be doing the same to another. Call churhes in your area and ask questions about their minstries. Let the Lord lead you where you go ... and find a place you can serve others and Him. Searcher |

Dear DLD, I have to agree with Brother Doc on his observation. You have asked 29 questions since joining and all seemed to be homework assignment questions. Now, I wonder if you are upto the age requirement of the forum - i.e. 18 and up. Could you please confirm your age eligibility with us? Shalom Azure |

5 | Why did satan dispute over moses body | Bible general Archive 4 | Searcher56 | 205306
God's day to you dscott, and welcome to the SBF, Jude 1:9 is the passage, so next to Questions/Notes on Verse: enter [Jude 1:9] to see all the threads for this verse You could enter [Moses dispute] under Search Word(s) or ID# on the upper right side of the page, to see all the posts with these two words. There is a great response in post 64458, so if enter [64458] under Search Word(s) or ID# ... then follow the rest of that thread. you may be satisfied. Nonetheless, read the context to see how it fits. We may not know the reason of the dispute, but I think it was an example provided by the Holy Spirit through Jude, that the readers were aware of (Zechariah 3:1-3). You'll need to read more Scripture for application ... this was an angel vs angel situtation. Continue to ask questions and share your insights, Searcher |

6 | What is holines | Bible general Archive 4 | Searcher56 | 206512
God's day to you, flow, and welcome to the SBF, There are several words that are translated holy. Let us look at: Qadash The seventh day was sanctified (Gen 2:3) or made holy by God (Exo 20:11), where the verb form of is used. We see the noun form can refer refer to temple prositute (Gen 38:21-22, Deu 23:17). So it is not always good. Nonetheless, it deals with being separated. God is separated from us, so much higher and purer than we are. We are to be holy, because He is (Lev 11:44-45, 1 Pet 1:16). The OT uses the adjective form, qadowsh. Hagios is the word in Peter. 7 | whjat does it mean man's free will | Bible general Archive 4 | Searcher56 | 208086
God's day to you, ajahjazzy, and welcome to the SBF, Man's free will means he is free to make choices. Some believe man has a choice in all he does. On the other extreme believe God is the one who forces man. Some are between the two. The issue of free will/predestination has been discussed before. Enter either of the words under Search on the right side. Searcher |

14 | Are people going to hell? | Bible general Archive 4 | Searcher56 | 215394
Scripture ... Mat 5:22, 5:29-30, 10:28, 18:9, 23:15, 23:33; Luk 12:5 ... God's day to you, tonyab, Hell is real and is seen in The Douay-Rheims Bible the most (109 Verses) and The Holman Christian Standard Bible on has 10 Verses on Hell. The above verse are those that say men are going to Hell. I didn't include Mark 9:43,45,47 since they are about the same as those in Matthew. Matthew 25:41 says "Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels" ... so we see eternal fire is another word for Hell, and is was prepared for the devil and his angels, not men. In verse 46, we in verse 46 read "These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." We also read, "These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power" (2Th 1:9). These are some of the verses. Read the context of these verses. Searcher |
