Bible Question:
Being new here, please forgive me if I've over-looked any rules. I did several searches for this and found no answer. I'm just now beginning to try to learn more about His word, so I have confusion on some things. This morning I was listening to our local Christian radio program, and maybe I lost my train of thought, but I honestly believe one of the hosts said that (maybe jokingly?) no one would be going to hell, then he quoted Romans 14:11 "Every knee shall bow...". Tonight I've done some searching and found 2 more verses saying the same thing; Isaiah 45:21 and Philippians 2:9-11. So if I take these verses literally (KJV), is this true? Thanks so much for any help/advice you can give me. tonyab |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Mat 5:22, 5:29-30, 10:28, 18:9, 23:15, 23:33; Luk 12:5 ... God's day to you, tonyab, Hell is real and is seen in The Douay-Rheims Bible the most (109 Verses) and The Holman Christian Standard Bible on has 10 Verses on Hell. The above verse are those that say men are going to Hell. I didn't include Mark 9:43,45,47 since they are about the same as those in Matthew. Matthew 25:41 says "Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels" ... so we see eternal fire is another word for Hell, and is was prepared for the devil and his angels, not men. In verse 46, we in verse 46 read "These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." We also read, "These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power" (2Th 1:9). These are some of the verses. Read the context of these verses. Searcher |
