1 | Rapture....timing? | Bible general Archive 3 | stjohn | 188628
Dear friend; I truly hope and pray that our lord opens your eyes. And gives you peace, that you can stop worrying about this. Please my friend, be willing, and He will open them. Pray and ask [God] for understanding, you can't get it from man. Ask Him to show you His Grace and mercy, and how truly wonderful He is, and how much He loves you. 1 Thess 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. This is what is referred to as the rapture, as I am certain you know. Friend, if you need more then this, I cant help you. Only Jesus! God bless. John |

2 | Rapture....timing? | Bible general Archive 3 | God's-elect | 188708
thank you. I was only wondering about the timing of this wonderfull event. I get some mild rebuke if I mention the election and talk about the condition of men, so I try and tread lightly in this area which is so amazing. Anyway thank you, and I am always amazed by God's mercy and grace.
3 | Rapture....timing? | Bible general Archive 3 | stjohn | 188710
Hi God's-elect, If you would like my opinion on the timing I'd be happy to give it to you sorry if I was harsh, I'm glad you really would like my opinion. sorry. here is something from a previous post. I don't know how much of this you know so pleas be patient, I'm kinda feeble. Anyway I'd like to first lay a little foundation. I want to talk first about crowns if you please. Lets look at these verses please, and take note of the crowns. 2 Tim 4:8 in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. James 1:12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 1 Pet 5:4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. ok notice the reference too about receiving the crowns after trials and approval. Now lets look at the church at Sardis and in Philadelphia. Notice how God shows disapproval for the church's in general, but finds a loyal remnant? And also, note the white garments in the next verses. Rev 3:4 'But you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their garments; and they will walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. Rev 3:5 'He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. Rev 3:7 "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: Rev 3:8 'I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name. Rev 3:9 'Behold, I will cause those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie--I will make them come and bow down at your feet, and make them know that I have loved you. Now look what God is saying here about what is about to happen. Rev 3:10 'Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth Rev 3:11 'I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your crown. ok, Here is were an important change is happening, things have really changed. Rev 3:14 "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, says this: 15 'I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 'So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. oh-oh, big trouble. God is not pleased with the church at Philadelphia. but notice how He still asks them to let Him in He's a Graceful and merciful God thru to the end. Rev 3:20 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. Now in the next verses we see what looks like the rapture. Rev 4:1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things." see how it refers to the next verses? And notice the the voice that sounds like a trumpet? 1 Thess 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. So John is caught up if you please, in what looks like the rapture, right? But, look what is already waiting there. Rev 4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne. Rev 4:4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads. See, the church is already there. "clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads." So it looks like the Church is raptured/caught up, in chapter 3 somewhere between v11 and v14 I see the elders as representative of the Church God bless. John |

Thank you. I will consider all that was said. One thing is certain. The Lord is coming and there will be some alive physically when he does. Again I really like to hear from those who consider such things and I know God reveals truth to those whom he wants.

Hi God's-elect, I appreceate Your graceful responce very much, thank you.... Just another thought though.... here is something I wrote to a friend, on the study of escotology. 'Like I've said though I don't know for sure when but I'm not really worried at all what worries me is. Am I doing all I can t get the Word out? What's Jesus going to say to me when I stand before him? What's up Johnny boy? What have you been up to? Hmm?.... If the rapture was today, ... I'd be ashamed! ... So many Christians are living for the rapture, or whatever the future may bring, ... Jesus said to live for today, cos it has enough trouble of its own, ... or something like that. That was Bible 101 from John boy! ;-) " "It seems you are interested in eschatology, as it seems are most people. Personally, I think that as we gain a full understanding of the whole counsel of scripture, then can we see the revelation with more of the spirit that it was given to us. i.e. the spirit of love that God has for His Church. When we have the fullness of the spirit, it will be given to us, the understanding of HOW God intends to carry out His judgment, and not so much the WHEN he is going to do it. This to me is the point of revelation, and I believe, we should be prepared to hear the voice of God, at any moment. Like the voice of an Archangel, and like the sound of a trumpet. Come up here!" What will you say to him? I'm going to say baaaaa. ;-) You know? like a sheep? :-) Eph 4:1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. 7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8 Therefore it says, "WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN." God bless. John |

Well said. Now is the day of salvation, and I will, if allowed, concentrate more on his mercy and grace and less on the timing of that great event. Please forgive me if at times I seem to push some doctrine or belief, I just get excited and want to talk about things when I should be proclaiming his name, mercy, grace and love for his people. The Lord will return when he is ready, be it today, next week, or 100 years.

Hi God's elect, Thanks! And amen! "proclaiming his name, mercy, grace and love for his people" I pray that I too can be bold in word, and give testimony of God's salvation of grace, through the sacrifice of The Lamb of God; Jesus Christ, His beloved Son. And I forgive you for doing what I also do. I'm guilty as much as you are, and more. I get excited too! And, I am a bit hot to give my opinion without remembering to be Graceful and loving, as I should, because He commands it. We sometimes forget that God is more patient then we are... As far as I can see, the world is ready for judgment right now. But, when we look at the way God waits for the lost, like He did for Nineveh, I think it was about 200 years after He past Judgment on them, before it actually came to pass. And he waited 400 years, for the inequity of the gentiles to be complete, when he sent Israel into Egypt for that time, and again in the time of Noah when He said in Gen 6:3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years." It looks like that's how much longer He waited to bring the flood, so He is patient beyond what we would be for sure. Sometimes I think, what is he waiting for. Well, He waited for you and me to come along, and He will wait as long as He want's to for others to come along as well. Don't you think? Nonetheless, I want to be ready to move if He calls, right now. Well, thanks again God's elect, I enjoy having discussions with you. God bless. John |
