Hi CDBJ, You have peeked my interest. I didn't think that there is anything better than the peace and joy that I have found in Jesus Christ. Could there be more? AIT |

Hi CDBJ, Sorry for the delay. As I wrote earlier, it's hard to find the words to express it. Paul wrote "…for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances." Philippians 4:11 (New International Version) This is as close as I can come to explaining it scripturally. I know that it requires me surrendering my will to God's will for my life. The peace and joy are suffocated when I try to make things happen on my own versus allowing God the control. This is something I struggle with daily. I have only been "born again" for about two years now and I have many old habits that need to be broken. However, each day that goes by is better than the day before. And each day that I allow the Lord to work in my life my peace and joy seem to get stronger. I know that when I distance myself from God: i.e. not reading The Word, not praying, not reflecting on His will: I become miserable, life seems impossible, frustration increases, tensions takes over, and peace and joy are no where to be found. However, the peace and joy are quicker and quicker to return as I learn more quickly to look for contentment from the love of God within: not in the outside circumstances. I hope this answers your question: God Bless: AIT |

Hi AIT, No problem with the delays, it seems like my whole life is one big delay! It's so nice to hear from you and I hope everything is going well. I remember my first few years as a born again believer just as though it were yesterday but in reality it’s been close to 40 years now. I think I knew more then, then I know now; just kidding. Have you come to the place yet, in your walk with the Lord, where you can say for certain that you have eternal life; is it a sure thing with you yet? Here is one for you: lets say you were to standing before God this very day, awesome idea, and He were to say to you, why should I let you come into my kingdom, what do you think you would say to Him; just hypothetically speaking? I don’t know if you have every had this thought before but I have. What do you think you would say in a situation like that; it will be interesting to hear your thoughts on this. Have a great day, CDBJ |

Hi CDBJ, This is pretty neat, going back and forth with you. I love the Lord soooooo much that talking about my walk with Him is truly my dearest passion (my second passion is tennis). Awesome questions: 1. I know without a doubt that I have eternal life. 2. If I were to stand before God? Well, I have thought about it but in a different way, let me share my thought process with you. A couple weeks ago, at my bible study, I was posed a question. "What would I have written on my grave stone?" I thought a moment and started to write all these wonderful things: She was kind, caring, thoughtful, generous, and on and on. When I was done, it seemed completely empty. I had absolutely no peace about it. So I reflected on it and realized that it really doesn't matter to me what "I" think or what others think. What matters most to me is what God thinks. My dream is that He will say to the world something similar to what He said about Jesus, "With her, I am well pleased." So, with that said, if I were to face God today I would bow down and confess that I don't deserve His awesome grace and that all I have to offer is my heart and my effort to do His will. I would apologize for all my failures but at the same time I would know that He loves me and accepts me for who I am. When I think about where I was spiritually before a couple years ago, I can't help but wonder how I survived. Having a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ is the most awesome, fullfilling experience. Well, CDBJ, I hope you have a great day. I pray that God's will in your life is apparent and that you have the courage and wisdom to accomplish it. God Bless! Angel in Training |

Hello, Angel in Training: I rather like your user name; while I would not adjudge myself an Angel, I've been "in training" as a Christian for some 56 years. ..... By the way, would you consider giving the Forum a little background information on yourself in the User Profile? (access by clicking on to your user name on any of your posts). You can use other registrants' profiles a guides if you'd like. ..... I'd like to ask you something so that we can get to know you and your views a little better, and I'd like, if you don't mind, for you to make the answers as short and to the point as you can. The question is about facing God which you touched upon in your post. Angel, do you believe and accept the following statements with all your heart: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as the result of works, so that no one may boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9). .... No need to be expansive, just a yes or no will do. ..... I was once young and new in the faith, but it was so very long ago. I didn't have all the answers then, and some that I had were wrong ones. After 56 years as a born-again believer in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I still don't have all the answers, but I have more than I had at age 14 when I was saved. But through it all I've hung on to and cherished the firm belief that I was saved, am being saved, and will be saved by God's grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. And when I come to the end of my journey on earth and meet Him face to face, my plea will not be based on my righteous deeds, which have been so few, and are like filthy rags to Him; or my good intentions, which have been so many, and are equally valueless; but solely upon the finished work of the Lord Jesus on the cross. He and He alone saves me from sin and gives me eternal life. Believest thou this also, Angel? ..... We are happy to have you on the Forum and pray that we can in some measure encourage and strengthen and help you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (see 2 Peter 3:18). --Hank | ||||||

Hi Hank, I put a little user profile in, like you requested. Then I looked at yours and liked the way you set it up. I may change mine to add more detail. Also, I will TRY to keep my answers to the point. However, as I wrote in my profile, it is the process that I feel is SOOOOO important to share and I consider my response to you (or anyone for that matter) available for all to read. If anyone could possibly benefit and be just one step closer to God because of my experience, then the time is well spent. However, where appropriate, I will keep my answers short. :) 1. I wholeheartedly believe in Ephesians 2:8,9. 2. re: "He and He alone saves me from sin and gives me eternal life." I also believe in this. :) Thank you, Hank, for your input. It is truly a pleasure to "converse" with you and others on this forum. It is a true blessing to hear and share how God can be such a great part of our lives. :) Have a great day! Angel in Training |
