Good and evil. Now the question comes where does this evil come from, is it Satan and his henchmen or is it the sin nature of the flesh? Scripture tells us that a lot of what is attributed to Satan is nothing more than man’s inherent sin nature. Many people appear to be good and say and do all the right things but in fact they are only after what that may bring them. In their hearts they are dark and lost. Even in many pulpits we have people that are there for one reason, it is a job. They say and do what the people want them to say and do but their heart is not in it. They teach ‘it is not our problem’, but Satan that is tempting us, when in fact it is our flesh that needs to be brought into submission of the Lord Jesus Christ. They teach our life's difficulties are brought on by Satan when in fact it our bad choices and failing to inquire of God before we make a decision. They teach the problem lurks behind every bush waiting to trip up a Christian when in fact they failed to teach that in a Christian life God must be first. Yes Satan is real but he is defeated in a Christian’s life, what we battle is our flesh. I’m not saying Satan will not try to tempt us but even Satan is limited he can’t spend a lot of time bothering people that are not on the front lines yet it seems when we hear of Satan’s actions it is always from people that live in the rear. Thank you EdB! I revised your staement a little but it means the basically the same. Yes, sin is real but it is defeated in a Christian’s life, what we battle is our flesh. I’m not saying sin will not try to tempt us but even the adversary is limited and can’t spend a lot of time bothering people that are not on the front lines yet it seems when we hear of sins actions it is always from people that live in the rear |
