GB You said, "I agree with you concerning the Living Bible, and your distaste for Zondervan, but if you will note, I have not mentioned a single version, which I consider unworthy." I think you in effect did. In an earlier post you said, "if you do not use the KJ or NIV, which without a doubt are inspired translations, I would strongly suggest that first and foremost, you pray and ask that the Holy Spirit lead you to the TRUTH of the WORD." To me that is saying every version but the NIV or KJV is problematic. Perhaps I’m reading something into what you said but that is how it appears to me. Could you clarify this? Then you really confused me saying, “I have scrutinized the NIV; and in doing so, through comparison to the best and most available of the “translated scrolls,” which I have been able to acquire, found many discrepancies in the KJV. Neither are perfect. Neither are perfect. Neither are perfect. Nor am I, yet. But I am well on my way to perfection, and thank God, I am Glory Bound!” I think what your saying here is you have compared the NIV and KJV with translated scrolls and found them to have errors. It correct? If it is, that confuses me, you said they were inspire and if God inspires something I always thought it would be error free? I must be misunderstanding what your saying would you please explain what seems to be a contradiction to me? A statement within that statement really raised my curiosity when you said you used the most available of the “translated scrolls”. What are they? I have never heard the term translated scrolls before and I would like to understand what they are and perhaps you could tell me where I could obtain copies so I to could study as you have. Then I read, “Unfortunately, there just aren’t enough originals to go around where scripture is concerned. I have no doubt that our Lord has considered this fact. One has to exercise a thing called faith, in the matter. It is those who doubt that I am concerned with. I would assert that it is those who profess, yet doubt, that should be concerned the most.” What are the originals your talking about? Are you talking the Bible autographs (the original manuscripts) or are you talking something else? If it is something else please tell me what your studying I would be very interested in knowing about it. EdB |

Well Ed. Would you not recommend that, considering the many uninspired versions, a new convert tread carefully. I simply make my statements, which you quote based on my personal experience, research and discernment. Do I not have this right without enraging the ravening wolves? Does the word "inspired" eliminate what a particular individual might consider "less than perfect?" i.e. There is at least one occurrence in the King James in which the word "son" is used. In having studied that particular passage, and considering the meaning of the Greek word, I personally feel that the word "children" would be more appropriate. This is not what I consider an error, for literally, the word could have been translated either way. Ed, I asked not to be dragged into this discussion from the very beginning of the thread. I am growing very weary concerning this matter. I doubt the sincerity of those who insist on continuing. I fail to see a true motive, other than resentment. I apologize if I portray myself as something, which offends so many herein. It is by the authority of the very scripture, which my opponents question, that I stand by what I have stated. Thus I make no apologies for the essence of my statements. Please forgive me when I do not answer questions, which are superfluous, redundant and, or have already been answered. This is my last correspondence with you concerning this matter, Ed. You too can continue to rant and rave without rebuttal, if it is in your nature as well. GB |

Gb I don't think I ranted and raved nor am I a ravenous wolf. I think to characterize me as doing such or being such is unfair and un Christ like. Now that it has been discovered you have been on the forum before and were expelled explains much. I think you sir may want to rethink your position in all of this. EdB |
