Part 3. I don't know about all of you, but I believe God loves me as much as He does Jesus. I believe in a Father who wants to bless me, and does way beyond anything I deserve, and I trust that He will be faithful to His promises, otherwise what's the point? When I was pastoring a church in Florida, a young man named Brian stopped into my office to visit with me. Brian had received salvation at a Moody Adams crusade in which our fellowship had participated. Every participating church provided counselors who ministered to the people who came forward and then later followed up to make them disciples. Well, Brian had matured in our fellowship and then went away to bible college to study. He wanted to become a missionary. As we were talking he told me that he had been praying one day and he asked God a question. He said, "God aren't you concerned about how much damage the devil does to the church, and how much trouble he causes for everyone, and how much he hurts everyone? Doesn't that bother You?" And he said that God replied, "Brian, I am secure enough in Myself that I don't need to worry about what the devil does, because I know who's really in charge." As Brian was speaking those words God spoke to me and said, "Do you hear what he is saying? That's for you! I want you to be secure enough in Me that you will do whatever I tell you to do and not worry about what anyone else says and I will judge whether you are successful or not, not man." So I put it to you brothers and sisters. Is this what God's word has called you to do. Has His Spirit spoken to you and said, "Go, tear the church apart" or did He say in His word to you, "Matt 10:8 "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give." Was He speaking about you or the Word of Faith brothers when He said, "Mark 16:17 "These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;Mark 16:18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." When was the last time any of you healed the sick, cast out a demon, worked a miracle and raised the dead, spoke in new tongues, or even believed our all powerful God for anything beyond your daily bread? Brethren, I can humbly tell you that God's Holy Spirit has performed all of those acts through my vessel, because I have the baptism in the Holy Spirit and that's what we're supposed to do. Jesus said so. So my advice to you all, is to pack up your intellects, your education, your reason, and go find a real relation with The Living God, His Son Jesus Christ, and His precious Holy Spirit, and you too will be saying, "Hey, God really does mean everything He said. And He really does want to bless me, and He really meant it when He said we would receive power from on high. Hallelujah, Praise God, Glory to His Name, Praise Him in the highest." May the Lord bless you in a mighty way as only He can. ApostoloB |

Simply put, I accept ALL of Scripture, not a hit and miss viewpoint according to man's doctrine. I was just reading in 1st Timothy yesterday morning. Please allow me to copy it from my Bible. 1 Tim 4:3ff : “These are the things you must teach and preach. Anyone who teaches different views and does not agree with the wholesome instruction which comes from out Lord Jesus Christ, and with religious teaching is a conceited, ignorant person with a morbid craving for speculations and arguments which result only in envy, quarreling, abuse, base suspicions, and mutual irritation between people of depraved minds, who are lost in the truth and think of religion only as a means of gain. “For we bring nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. If we have food and clothing we will be satisfied. But men who want to get rich fall into temptations and snares and many foolish, harmful cravings, that plunge people into destruction and ruin. ”For the love of money is the root of all evils, and in their eagerness to get rich, some men wander away from the faith and pierce themselves in the heart with many a pang. “But you, man of God, must fly from these things. Strive for uprightness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.” Etc. etc. etc. It sounds to me, the Word of Faith teachers neglect to strive for their listeners to strive for what the Holy Spirit would desire. His word says: “Ask of Me and I will give you nations”... HOw dare we ask HIM for cars, castle-sized homes, pleasure boats, etc. May the Lord bless us with HIMSELF, so we all can rid ourselves of ourself. Tom |
